Rabbit Must Die-Chapter 333 - 330: See No One!_1
There stood in the river a rabbit with ears sticking up, naked from the navel upwards and furry below, pink and plump as can be, staring wide-eyed with an expression that screamed "moron."
Yu’er, don’t zone out. Actually... you do look, pfft... haha... kind of... haha... cute, haha..." Chang’e couldn’t help but continue to laugh.
Qin Shou looked at Chang’e with a mix of sorrow and reproach. "Silly girl, you always blink when you lie, and you’re blinking like mad right now!"
Chang’e laughed and said, "I’ve got... a speck of sand in my eye, okay? Haha..."
Qin Shou gave a resigned look, glanced at Jiucai who was sleeping soundly beside him, and sighed, "Forget it, I’m not going to bicker with you anymore. I’m off!"
With that, Qin Shou picked up Jiucai and headed towards the Moon Palace.
"Where are you going, Yu’er?" asked Chang’e, barely holding back her laughter.
Qin Shou sighed, "Where else can I go? I need to find this girl a spot to rest... I’m not going out until my new fur grows back, not even if I’m killed! Starting today, the Moon Palace is closed for business! I won’t see anyone! I, the Rabbit Lord, won’t see a soul!" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
With a pursed smile, Chang’e asked, "What if the Jade Emperor comes?"
Humph! "Even if a Saint came, I wouldn’t see them!" Qin Shou huffed.
Chang’e laughed, then quietly put away the Shadow Printing Stone in her hand, muttering to herself, "I feel like I can laugh at him for a lifetime now, haha..."
Qin Shou was truly miserable. In the past, being singed by a fire chicken would at most turn him into a rabbit with black fur, and he never felt embarrassed about it. At one point, he even thought that the furry coat added breadth to his figure, but now he realized that being without fur was the real misery! Bare as a rodent... it’s damn ugly!
The night passed without incident, and then, as soon as it grew light...
"Ah!!"
A sharp, piercing scream echoed through the entire Moon Palace!
What followed was a barrage of frantic yelling, "Damn rabbit, what have you done to me? Ouch! Damn rabbit, you’re not wearing any clothes! Oh... wait, no, damn rabbit! You went so far as to pluck yourself bald just to get undressed! Are you even human?!"
Holding a breakfast tray, Qin Shou looked at Jiucai in front of him with a helpless expression, and mumbled, "Sis, if you don’t see the fur on your body, how could I even begin? You eating breakfast or not? If not, I’m throwing it away!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Qin Shou was ready to toss away the breakfast tray.
Hearing this, Jiucai quickly said, "Wait a minute!"
Without hesitation, Qin Shou threw it out of the window, and Jiucai leaped after it...
Seeing this, Qin Shou finally breathed a sigh of relief: "Finally, I have my bed back."
Before his words were even finished, a streak of red light zipped back in. Jiucai sat on the bed, holding a plate of roast chicken, and while eating, she used Qin Shou’s blanket to wipe the grease from her mouth, and said at the same time, "Damn rabbit, you dared to kiss me yesterday!"
Qin Shou retorted, "Don’t talk nonsense; I was helping you!"
Jiucai huffed angrily, "But you kissed my mouth!"
Qin Shou said, "A kiss is mouth to mouth, yesterday I bit you, so it’s not a kiss. At most, it’s a bite."
Jiucai raged, "What’s the difference?"
Qin Shou said, "The difference is huge. Come on, Jiucai, don’t sweat the small stuff. Speaking of which, what should we steal today?"
Instantly, Jiucai’s eyes rolled back in anger, and with a forceful effort, a chicken bone got stuck in his mouth—he almost choked to death!
Jiucai knew there was no point in talking to the damn rabbit any longer. In a huff, he slapped a plate against the rabbit’s face, then jumped out the window once more, breaking through the sky as he left!
Watching Jiucai’s retreating figure, Qin Shou waved the plate in his hand and called out, "Jiucai, remember to pay for your meals next time you come!"
That streak of red light clearly trembled for a moment, almost turning back in a murderous rage, but in the end, it still left.
Seeing this, Qin Shou also breathed a sigh of relief. Honestly, he was quite afraid that Jiucai would get angry and come back again, maybe even burn his pants. If that happened, he’d really be ’choosing weapons drunk in the night, feeling breezy down below’...
After watching the little fire chicken leave, Qin Shou didn’t rest. He took a tour around his Moon Palace and eventually arrived at a riverfront. Seeing the clear waters, Qin Shou’s eyes lit up as he suddenly thought of something... Then Qin Shou smiled...
Meanwhile, atop Phoenix Mountain in the Phoenix Clan, several old phoenixes were quietly discussing something.
"Linlin’s growth rate has quickened recently. Have you found out what’s causing it?" an old woman sat at the head of the table, her face sagging, her eyebrows nearly resting on the table. Although she did not look up and her voice lacked strength, it overpowered everyone else’s.
There were two other elders seated below, one cloaked in black, the other in a long red cloud-patterned robe. Both nodded slightly upon hearing the question.
The old woman said, "Black Phoenix, you speak."
The Black Phoenix elder spoke softly, "Linlin inherently possesses the purest Phoenix bloodline in our clan. In order to evade investigation from the Phoenix Nest ancestral land, we specifically instructed her not to cultivate and even sent her to Wenqu Star Palace to focus on learning. According to our previous simulations, Linlin should not have awakened this quickly.
However, Linlin encountered a rabbit at Wenqu Star Palace. This rabbit’s background is ordinary, but he’s extremely popular. Favored by the Jade Emperor, protected by Immortal Master of Clear Origin and Good Path, taught by Wenqu Star Monarch, the denizens of Artisan Valley, and the Kitchen God. Reliable sources say the rabbit once visited Fangcun Mountain...
And since Linlin met this rabbit, her life trajectory began to change, veering away from our calculated path. It’s as if someone is pushing her to keep avoiding our arrangements...
Now Linlin has not only awakened her Nirvana fire but just now I sensed the true Phoenix fire within her body has broken through once more, reaching Level Four of phoenix fire! Phoenix fire goes nine levels per cycle, each time significantly increasing in power... Under normal circumstances, Linlin’s age would make it impressive even to reach the peak of Level One. But now... Alas, I don’t know whether it’s a blessing or a curse."
Upon hearing this, the old woman’s brow furrowed, "Rabbit..."
"Big sister, do you know him?" Black Phoenix asked.
The old woman paused, seemingly hesitant, but then shook her head and said, "Not sure. However, Linlin must not err, she must return to the correct life trajectory. From now on, don’t let her see that rabbit anymore... Just have her stay in Phoenix Mountain to study in peace. As for the Phoenix Nest, it seems that they’ve got their own issues and no longer have the time to bother with our minor branch. We have the backing of Heavenly Court, and if it really comes down to it, we’ll just do as the Four Seas Dragon Kings did and accept an official title. By then, let’s see who dares to touch us!
I think Phoenix Nest wouldn’t want us to take that step either... We don’t want trouble, and they probably don’t want to stir up such a huge mess."
The others nodded in agreement, and then from a lavish loft deep within Phoenix Mountain, angry cries echoed out, "Let me out! Let me out! Ancestress! Ancestress, please make them let me out! I want to go to school!"
