Chapter 308: Chapter 305 Such a Name [Please Subscribe]_1

"Don’t talk about such hurtful things; I have my pride," Rabbit said, trying to shift the blame seriously.

Chongba: "..."

"Alright, alright, let’s drop it. Chongba, we came to you for a reason..." Jiucai said.

Curious, Chongba asked, "You need me for something? What’s up? I’ll have you know, I’m a good student; I don’t skip classes."

Qin Shou decisively took out a delicious dish made from some kind of sea fish and put it in front of him, sighing, "That’s tough... We were planning to invite you to a barbecue, eat some food, do a bit of work, have a little drink, and enjoy ourselves. But since you want to be a good student, we’ll have to count you out."

Before Qin Shou could finish, Chongba snatched the plate and hummed, "Although I don’t skip classes, I’m kicked out now, right... So it’s not really skipping. Rabbit, spill it, where are we going for this picnic?"

Qin Shou and Jiucai shared a smile with each other.

Then they took turns explaining to Chongba about the story of the saplings in the Imperial Garden.

Clapping his hands, Chongba exclaimed, "That tree is righteous! I’ve got to be righteous too! Just making rain, right? No big deal, let’s go!" 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Surprised, Qin Shou asked, "Chongba, you can summon clouds and rain?"

Chongba chuckled, "Even though my dad looks down on me, as a dragon, summoning clouds and rain is just a basic skill. It’s said, ’dragons control the wind and clouds, and tigers follow.’ Summoning clouds and rain is the most fundamental ability of the Dragon Clan, like how humans can crawl and walk."

Qin Shou immediately felt relieved and, without a second word, pulled Chongba with him and left.

"Hey, hey, hey... Rabbit, don’t rush! I’m telling you, I can only make rain after I’m full!" Chongba shouted.

Qin Shou said, "Don’t worry, you’ll be fed, plenty!"

In shock, Chongba cried out, "Damn, Rabbit, how can you be so generous? Did you strike it rich?"

Qin Shou just chuckled slyly, offering no explanation.

But Jiucai said, "He’s only come into a little wealth. His won’t be enough, but there’s also me!"

Chongba agreed, "Right, right, right, you’re the Phoenix Clan princess with plenty of money!"

Jiucai nodded proudly, "Of course!"

Sighing, Chongba said, "Whoever marries you really won’t have to work a day in their life..."

Jiucai humphed and cast a sidelong glance at the frantically running Rabbit, who seemed to have zero interest in such topics, this money-grubbing, gluttonous, shameless creature.

Slightly disappointed, Jiucai asked, "Rabbit, do you have any dreams?"

Without hesitation, Qin Shou said, "Food at a beckon, drink at a call, surrounded by beauties, and ideally, I wouldn’t have to manage anything—just peacefully be a pretty boy."

Rolling her eyes, Jiucai said, "This is the first time I’ve seen someone describe sponging off a woman in such a refreshing way."

Unconcerned, Qin Shou said, "Living off the love of the person I adore for a lifetime is my dream! Please do not insult my dream."

Chongba and Jiucai just rolled their eyes at him and couldn’t be bothered to respond.

In the midst of their conversation, the trio had arrived outside the Imperial Garden.

"Halt! Outsiders are not allowed in!" Baiwen and Raoteng, who were dozing off, opened their eyes wide at the sound of footsteps and shouted!

"What did you say?" A rabbit came walking towards them.

Baiwen and Raoteng hardly needed to exchange glances, instantly knowing what to do and shouted in unison, "We didn’t see anything!"

"Smart! Have a chicken drumstick!" Qin Shou tossed an unprocessed chicken to each of them.

Then he rushed into the Imperial Garden with Chongba and Jiucai...

"Raoteng, Rabbit brought people in," Baiwen said.

Raoteng nodded and asked, "So what? How should we cook this chicken to make it tasty?"

A bit worried, Baiwen said, "That’s not the point, Rabbit brought people in, and the Jade Emperor doesn’t allow that..."

Raoteng nodded again, "I’m thinking of stewing it. What do you think?"

Baiwen was speechless with exasperation, angrily saying, "Are you even listening to me?"

Looking up, Raoteng asked, "Isn’t what I said serious enough? Or do you want to snitch?"

Rolling her eyes, Baiwen said, "I owe my life to Rabbit; how could I betray him?"

Raoteng said, "Well, that settles it, doesn’t it? They’ve already gone in; let’s just pretend we don’t know. Come on, look at the size of this chicken’s butt—it must be delicious once stewed..."

Baiwen fell into a speechless silence but after thinking it through, the logic was indeed sound. If they couldn’t report it and the people were already inside, what else was there to say? As for them? Their lives had been saved by Rabbit; at worst, they’d just owe him one. Thus, Baiwen joined Raoteng in figuring out how to cook the two chickens.

Qin Shou led Jiucai and Chongba into the Imperial Garden, and upon entering, he was visibly taken aback!

He saw that the once dilapidated Imperial Garden was now beginning to revive amidst the ruins! Clusters of trees had grown, some over two meters tall, and from a distance, the greenery was lush and thriving.

However, further afar, it was still desolate...

While Qin Shou was dazed, a little tree peaked out from among the forest, looking a bit scared at the group.

The little tree’s eyes brightened when it saw Qin Shou, its clear, bright eyes showed not a hint of annoyance at the damn rabbit for breaking his promise to help plant trees for several days. Instead, the tree seemed gleeful at the sight of a friend. When its gaze fell on Jiucai and Chongba, there was an evident shyness, hesitant to approach.

Qin Shou beckoned to the little tree and smiled, "Little tree, don’t be afraid, these two are my buddies!"

Upon hearing this, Jiucai immediately slapped Rabbit across the face, stood with hands on hips, and angrily said, "I’m a girl!"

Qin Shou cocked his head, looking at Jiucai’s round body and chuckled, "Jiucai, girls are like inverted gourds, full of graceful curves. But look at you... you’re like a giant fluff ball... better off being a dude."

Jiucai’s face turned dark, she opened her mouth, and whoosh!

A burst of flame spewed out!

In an instant, Qin Shou was a charred mess!

Qin Shou had long been used to this and didn’t mind. He was about to wipe his face when suddenly the ground trembled, and one after another the roots of the trees burst from the earth, coiling towards Jiucai!

Qin Shou was startled and turned around to see the little sapling looking furiously at Fire Chicken, its roots dug into the earth as the surrounding trees seemed like awakened guards, rippling and twisting as if ready to kill at any moment!

Qin Shou quickly called out, "No, no, no, no... Little sapling, don’t get agitated! We’re friends! We were just messing around... Look at me, I’m totally fine!"

Qin Shou struck a pose and grinned, showing his teeth.

The little sapling looked at Qin Shou, indeed unharmed, then glanced at Fire Chicken, who was on high alert, fur bristled as if facing a formidable enemy. After a while, it seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, and the trees around returned to normal, with the roots retracting back into the soil.

Chongba sidled up, "Hey, Rabbit, this little sapling really looks out for you. What magic potion have you fed him?"

Qin Shou couldn’t be bothered with him, pulled Jiucai by one hand, and despite her struggles, he dragged her over to the bewildered little sapling, saying, "Let me properly introduce you, this is Jiucai, my good bro..."

That instant, Qin Shou sensed a murderous aura.

Qin Shou promptly corrected himself, "My good sister."

The murderous aura vanished...

Qin Shou felt a wave of helplessness, then pointed to the little sapling, "This is Little Sapling, my good brother."

Little Sapling, hearing this, shyly and awkwardly shivered...

Qin Shou burst into laughter, "Are you actually shy? Haha..."

Little Sapling waved its branches vigorously, as if protesting something.

Jiucai was generous, not holding grudges. She looked up, extended her hand saying, "Hello, I am..."

"Jiucai!" Qin Shou said.

Jiucai stared at Qin Shou angrily, "Can you not interrupt!"

Qin Shou glanced at Jiucai’s small mouth, then at his lower half, and chuckled, "Haven’t tried..."

Jiucai didn’t understand what the damn rabbit was thinking and ignored him, chatting away with Little Sapling, who finally understood what they were there for.

Chongba finally got a chance to speak.

Upon hearing Chongba came to help with the rainfall, Little Sapling burst into bloom with laughter, its leaves shaking as if laughing hysterically.

Qin Shou patted Little Sapling, "Little sapling, you don’t have a name yet, do you?"

Little Sapling rustled its body in response.

Qin Shou said, "I knew you didn’t have a name. Here, allow me to name you!"

Jiucai hurriedly objected, "No way! Your names are always so weird, none of them sound good! Little Sapling, listen to me, don’t let him name you."

However, Little Sapling shook its body, rejecting Jiucai’s suggestion, and looked at Qin Shou with anticipation.

Qin Shou smiled, "Look at you, all green and tall. I think, you should be called Dacong!"

"Pfft!" Chongba couldn’t help but burst out laughing, then without holding back, lay on the ground, clutching his belly, laughing hard, "Rabbit, hahaha... the level of your naming, hahaha..."

Jiucai covered her face saying, "See, I knew it. This damn rabbit can’t come up with any good names. Little Sapling, how about I name you?"

Qin Shou countered, "You name something? Forget it, I named you too. Don’t like that one? Alright, we’ll change it. Hmm... This tree is green, stout and strong, a bit soy-sauce-colored and so cute. How about calling it Elbow? Nah... wait, it’s green on top, how about Soy-Sauced Elbow with Broccoli?"

"Ugh, spit in your face! What kind of name is that? And it’s so long!" Jiucai protested immediately.

Qin Shou replied, "There are shorter ones too!"

"Short ones?" Chongba, holding back laughter, said, "Come on, let’s hear it, let’s see what other strange names you can come up with."

Qin Shou continued, "The little sapling was once a towering tree!"

Upon hearing this, Little Sapling struck a regal pose, looking proud and tall.

Qin Shou went on, "But it suffered a disaster and ended up this short. So, if Dacong gets cut into pieces, doesn’t it become Conghua? What do you think of the name Conghua?"

"Haha..." Chongba laughed unabashedly once more.

Jiucai rolled her eyes, laughing sarcastically, "You... just go stay where it’s cool, alright? Hey, hey, hey... Rabbit, let go, why are you hugging me!"

"Didn’t you tell me to stay where it’s cool? Holding you is cool," Qin Shou shamelessly called out.
