"Next month is Old Man Fu’s birthday. What are your plans?"

Jiang Jiamian merely smiled when he heard that Fu Xiaoyuan was heading to the Jiang family.

Since Father Jiang had chosen to sign a contract with Jinsheng Group, as a veteran in the business world for decades, he had more than enough experience to deal with Fu Xiaoyuan. There was nothing to worry about.

What concerned Jiang Jiamian more was the Fu family’s birthday banquet, an important turning point in the original plot.

Of course, he had a plan.

He intended to ’help’ the protagonist.

But more than anything, he was curious about what scheme Fu Yanchen had prepared for the birthday banquet.

"What did you say?"

Old Master Fu looked at the returning Fu Xiaoyuan in disbelief, unsure if he had heard correctly.

"The Jiang family said they want to reject the project and asked us to prepare alternative plans." Fu Xiaoyuan said angrily.

"How dare they say that! Do they not know their own worth? Without the Fu family, their building materials would only sell in small batches. It was us who gave them face and a chance for long-term cooperation. And now they dare to reject the project?!"

Old Master Fu slammed the table in rage and his expression grew dark.

Fu Xiaoyuan saw his father’s anger and quickly seized the opportunity. "Dad, since the Jiang family is showing such disrespect, what do you think about the engagement?"

A cold glint appeared in Mr. Fu’s eyes as he sneered, "If they won’t accept the cooperation, they’ll face the punishment. Since the Jiang family dares to be so ungrateful, why even consider the engagement?"

Joy flashed across Fu Xiaoyuan’s face. Pushing further, he asked, "Then can we officially cancel it?"

After all, the Fu family was a prominent household. Every move was closely watched, and the engagement had drawn much attention. It couldn’t be broken off casually, it had to be announced formally.

Fu Yanchen nodded, the corner of his mouth quirking in amusement, "Exactly. But knowing the old man, he won’t act recklessly. My surname is still Fu. He probably won’t make too big a deal of it."

Jiang Jiamian sneered, "So there’s a good chance they’ll try to humiliate me in other ways."

He was no longer certain the birthday banquet would unfold as it had in the original plot.

Fu Yanchen reached out, clasped his hand tightly, and said seriously, "No matter what they try, I’ll be here. You’ll be fine. Don’t worry."

Jiang Jiamian smiled. "Of course I’m not worried."

More than half a month passed in the blink of an eye. The invitations to Old Master Fu’s birthday banquet had already been sent, but Fu Xiaoyuan still hadn’t managed to put the blame on Jiang Jiamian.

Not only did Mr. Fu’s expression grow darker by the day, even Tang Tang was getting anxious.
