During the winter season, the construction slowed down, but the designing work didn’t stop. Bing Shi was keeping herself busy in the office when she got a text message.
Xuan Mu: Bing Shi.
Xuan Mu: What do you want for Christmas? |_·)
Bing Shi: You. (*ˉ 3ˉ*)?
.....
Xuan Mu: That doesn’t count. I want to give you a gift.
Bing Shi: You wrapped in a ribbon.
(*ˉ 3ˉ*)?
Xuan Mu: Bing Shi, those are my lines!

It was one week before Christmas, and Xuan Mu had been pestering Bing Shi to choose a gift. Both of them were the type of people who would get what they want right away, so it was hard for Bing Shi to pick something out of nowhere.
Attempting to be like normal people, they tried to celebrate all the holidays like Christmas, Birthdays, Helloween, Valentine’s days, women’s days, and etcetera. As they wanted it to be special, instead of being happy, they felt pressured...
Bing Shi: There’s nothing I need. What about you?
Xuan Mu: I want sex. Lots of sex.
Xuan Mu’s typical answer. But when Bing Shi repeated it, it wouldn’t count. Where was the equality!?
Bing Shi: Why don’t you buy some sexy lingerie so that we can have fun together?
Xuan Mu: Bing Shi, that’s going to be a part of my gift. Be selfish like me, don’t think about my well being and choose something for yourself. Don’t forget. It has to be something special.
Bing Shi: What’s so special about sex? Don’t you have it all the time?
Xuan Mu: Sex is the most beautiful thing after you.
Bing Shi: Xuan Mu, my body, got a reaction. I think I’m horny.
Xuan Mu: My little girl is what?!? Wait a second. I’m flying over. I don’t believe you. I have to check it myself.
Both of them chuckled. Of course he didn’t fly over. They were too busy to be acting so irresponsibly.
During the nights, instead of reading novels, Bing Shi would surf the web to look for her gift. The only thing she would never get enough of were clothes. Choosing one of a kind, valuable dark blue dress, she let Xuan Mu pay for it.
What about the moment of surprise? No way. Satisfied with this outcome, they had more fun doing the opposite. She gave him her credit card to buy a gift, while he gave her his. Nobody knew what the other bought. Wouldn’t they burn out with all the thinking? They found it inefficient to sacrifice seven stressful days for one holiday.

One day before Christmas, Bing Shi got a call from Xuan Mu.
“Bing Shi, I want jam-filled shortbread cookies like the ones you baked during your school days,” said Xuan Mu with a spoiled tone. A type of sturdy cookie that was buttery and not too sweet, they were Xuan Mu’s favorite Christmas cookies.
“Are you sure? Wouldn’t they taste better if you let a professional bake them?” asked Bing Shi, who wasn’t very confident when it came to her culinary skills. She was searching for an easy recipe when those cookies caught her eyes with how appealing they looked. Her taste buds were strange; she couldn’t tell if the food she cooked was delicious or not.
“Noooo! I want Bing Shi’s shortbread cookies filled with love,” Xuan Mu sulked, “How can a random person’s food be compared to yours?”
Bing Shi chuckled, “Fine. I’ll order the ingredients.”
At home, Bing Shi, in thick rabbit pajamas, put an apron over Xuan Mu’s neck, “You are going to catch a cold if you keep walking around the house in your shorts. At least wear a t-shirt.”
Xuan Mu leaned down to peck her lips, “And you’ll get a stroke with that thick fur on you.”
He smoothly ended the argument in one sentence. Bing Shi’s heart thumped, catching his mouth with her teeth, she nibbled on his lips, “I think I’ll get a stroke from you instead.”
Xuan Mu grabbed the back of her head and waist, intensifying the kiss, he pressed their bodies together, “Now, you know why I don’t wear any clothes. I have you to keep me warm.” He pecked her lips and watched how she made the dough. Not used to it, her movements were slow and clumsy.
After Bing Shi made the dough, she covered it with a plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator. Preheating the oven, she looked at her fool. Sitting behind the kitchen counter, he had a silly grin plastered on his face, “We have thirty minutes.” Bing Shi walked towards him and sat on his lap, “What do you want to do?”
Xuan Mu blinked at her cutely, “You over the counter. Can I?”
Bing Shi bit his neck in amusement. Tracing her tongue over his Adam’s apple up towards his chin, she stopped, “You can’t.” She wrapped her arms around his neck, “You’ll have to wait until tomorrow.” She rubbed the exited thing in between his legs, “To make it more fun, you can’t find a release today.” She kissed his lips.
This woman drove his mind and body crazy! He placed her on the top of the counter. Grinding his bulge in between her legs, he ravaged her mouth, “I won’t hold back tomorrow. I’ll do you hard and rough until your voice becomes hoarse from screaming out my name.”
Bing Shi wrapped her legs around his torso. “I love screaming your name,” she said indolently.
They kept teasing the other, building the sexual tension; they didn’t go beyond kissing. For Bing Shi, it was an easy feast, as for Xuan Mu, the challenge tested his self-control to the max. What a thrilling experience; his little enchantress knew exactly how to make his blood boil. Feeding him with tiny droplets of water, the thirst he had for her was tantalizing, agonizing, yet addicting.
When the timer ended their make-out session, Bing Shi jumped down the counter with swollen lips. Walking towards the refrigerator, she checked the dough, “Hm...” She had no idea if it was ready or not, she only followed the recipe. “Do you think it’s done? They didn’t tell what temperature I should put the refrigerator on,” she showed Xuan Mu the dough, “I think it’s harder than before.” She knocked on the stone-hard mixture.
Xuan Mu shook his head with laughter; he didn’t know either.
“Well... Never mind.” Rolling out the dough with Xuan Mu’s help, both of them used a cookie cutter to cut out as many circles as possible. With a tiny heart cookie cutter, they cut out a center window in half of the circles. Placing the cookies on a prepared baking sheet, they spaced them out and let them bake for fifteen minutes.
Inhaling the fragrance of the freshly baked cookies made Xuan Mu’s fingers tingle in anticipation. Food prepared by loved ones was food prepared by loved ones. No matter how it tasted, he’d prefer it over any three Michelin star food any time of the day.
Spreading a dollop of a teaspoon of strawberry jam on the bottom side of the cookies, they topped them with the center cut-out window cookies.
Bing Shi put the cookies on a plate and dusted them with powdered sugar. “So pretty,” she chirped happily.
Trying one cookie nervously, she nodded in approval, placing the unfinished cookie against his lips with a pleased smile, “They are edible. Should we bring some for my parents and brothers tomorrow?”
“Noooo, never,” Xuan Mu took a bite of the cookie and hugged the plate protectively. “They are all mine,” he leaned over the take another bite, “Bing Shi, you can’t give your exclusive food to others.” Finishing the whole cookie, he licked the remaining sugar from her fingers. “It’s too delicious,” he exaggerated and grabbed another cookie.
Bing Shi wiped down the crumbles from his lips with her thumb, “Slow down.” She looked at him with laughter, “Just normal tasting cookies, and you are treasuring them more than gold.”
“It’s the same feeling as when you eat my food,” said Xuan Mu. Each bite of her food filled his body with indescribable warmth.
“That’s because your food is a lot tastier compared to mine,” said Bing Shi while thinking of his food. It was rare for them to cook. Cooking and cleaning after cooking itself took lots of time, and they preferred to do something more productive.
“That’s only your imagination,” said Xuan Mu. Same as her, he could only follow a recipe.
