Pursuing Her Best Friend after Confession Failed-Chapter 342 - 154: Tonight, Sleeping in Xia Zhijin’s Boudoir_2
Li Yuan looked at the very tidy room and the neatly folded bedding, plopped down on it, and waved at Xia Zhijin.
"Zhijin, come here."
Shyly lowering her head, Xia Zhijin obediently walked over and sat down primly beside Li Yuan.
Seeing her nervous expression, Li Yuan laughed, finding it amusing. He decided to take the lead.
He placed Xia Zhijin’s small hand on his thigh.
Li Yuan chuckled. "Zhijin, let’s first buy a house in Shancheng for your grandmother and Ning to move into. Then, after a while, once we’ve convinced your uncles, we can all move to Modu. What do you think?"
Xia Zhijin nodded obediently. "Whatever you say."
Li Yuan smiled. "Then it’s settled. We’ll head to Shancheng first thing tomorrow morning."
"Mm-hmm." As Li Yuan’s hand roamed toward the top of her thigh, Xia Zhijin shyly glanced toward the door, worried her grandmother might suddenly barge in.
Watching Xia Zhijin’s bashful demeanor, Li Yuan’s hands grew even more audacious. Those hands just couldn’t behave themselves. For now, he could only satisfy his craving with his touch.
Xia Zhijin’s cheeks blushed crimson. She struggled to break free from Li Yuan’s grasp, her voice barely audible as she pleaded, "Li Yuan, not here. My uncles, grandmother, and Ningning are all outside."
"Please, don’t do this."
"I’ll go help my grandmother clean up the kitchen."
Seeing that she was genuinely starting to panic, Li Yuan stopped his advances and smiled, stroking her head. "Silly girl. Go on, I’ll take a nap."
Xia Zhijin breathed a sigh of relief. She honestly didn’t know what she would have done if Li Yuan had insisted.
She glanced at him cautiously and asked, "Li Yuan, you’re not angry, are you?"
Li Yuan smiled gently, teasing, "I was just playing with you. I’m not that desperate."
Xia Zhijin let out a stifled laugh and rolled her eyes at him. If she hadn’t firmly refused just now, he would have started undressing...
"Then you rest for a bit. I’m going to the kitchen to help Grandma."
"Alright, go ahead."

Li Zixia saw Xia Zhijin run out with a flushed, flustered face and pursed her lips. They must have been getting handsy in the room again... My brother is so impatient, and at her family’s house, no less.
When Xia Zhijin reached the kitchen, she saw her grandmother clearing away leftovers and quickly went to help.
The elderly woman smiled and asked, "Jin, is Little Li asleep?"
"Yes, he should be," Xia Zhijin answered softly.
The old woman nodded. Thinking about what Li Yuan had said at the dinner table, she continued to probe, "Little Li’s family must be very wealthy, right? Do his parents and relatives know about you two? What’s their attitude toward you?"
Xia Zhijin shook her head in confusion and whispered, "I... I haven’t met his parents yet."
The old woman’s heart sank. She furrowed her brow. "Is it because Little Li hasn’t introduced you, or do his parents not want to meet you?"
Xia Zhijin shook her head again. "Zixia said his parents went back to their hometown and won’t be back until after the National Day holiday."
"Oh, that’s a relief." The tension the old woman had been holding onto finally eased.
She advised, "Jin, even though Li Yuan treats you very well, his parents’ attitude is also crucial. You need to be a little more charming and diligent. That’s how you’ll be welcomed into their family."
Simple and naive, Xia Zhijin listened obediently. She had no experience with romance and had spent her whole life studying. She had never even watched a romance drama; she was as pure as a blank sheet of paper.
"Jin, did you know beforehand that Li Yuan was planning to buy you a house in Shancheng?"
Xia Zhijin shook her head and said softly, "He mentioned once before that he wanted to buy another apartment in Modu to bring you and Ning over." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Hearing this, the old woman felt reassured. "Jin, have you and Little Li slept together yet?"
Caught off guard by the question, Xia Zhijin was flustered, and a blush immediately crept up her face. She gave a nearly inaudible "Mmm."
The old woman sighed internally. She understood, though. Given her granddaughter’s looks and figure, no man could resist.
With her rough, aging hand, she stroked Xia Zhijin’s head and said, "Jin, Grandma hopes you can finish university. Please, don’t get pregnant while you’re still in college."
"Mmm, I understand," Xia Zhijin nodded shyly.
The old woman smiled. "Once you graduate, you can get married and have a big, chubby baby. Grandma can even help you take care of the child."
"Grandma..." Xia Zhijin blushed deeply, fidgeting with the hem of her clothes, not knowing what to do with her hands.

Around six or seven that evening, the Chen Qiuhan and Chen Qiudong brothers finally sobered up.
At dinner, the way Chen Qiuhan looked at Li Yuan was completely different. He hadn’t expected that four grown men could be outdrunk by a college student. Worse yet, it happened in their own home. This embarrassing incident had already spread throughout Chen Family Village. A prospective son-in-law, on his first visit, had drunk four uncles under the table!
Chen Qiudong asked curiously, "Little Li, you just started college. How did you develop such a tolerance for liquor?"
Li Yuan put on a shy expression. I can’t just say I practiced drinking in my past life, can I?
He replied humbly, "Second Uncle, my tolerance is pretty average."
"If you call that average, then none of us can claim to know how to drink," Chen Qiudong joked. "But still, this sauce-fragrance Maotai doesn’t give you a headache after drinking a lot. It’s much better than Erguotou."
Chen Qiuhan laughed. "How much does a bottle of Erguotou cost? This bottle of Maotai must be several hundred, right?"
Li Yuan smiled faintly. "It’s not that expensive."
