Pursuing Her Best Friend after Confession Failed-Chapter 254 - 132 Little Fish’s Video Check, Li Yuan Through His Roommate’s Eyes_2
When the day came that the secret could no longer be kept, when the truth was finally revealed, he had no idea how to face either of them. Because, in their own ways, Xia Zhijin and Zhong Tingyue truly regarded him as their emotional support.

Jiang Zhiyu was unaware of Li Yuan’s thoughts. She turned back to her laptop, propped her chin in her hands, and stared at Li Yuan with her big, bright, clear eyes.
"Xia Hua, I really want to come see you, or you could come to our school to see me. When can we meet?"
Li Yuan felt a surge of panic but forced himself to remain calm, smiling as he replied, "How about the day after tomorrow? Your Ji University welcoming party is about to start, right?"
He had promised Little Fish long ago that unless something incredibly urgent came up, he would go to Ji University on September 30th to attend their welcoming party and watch her perform.
Hearing Li Yuan bring up the event, Little Fish chirped in excitement.
"That’s right! The Ji University welcoming party officially starts at 3 p.m. the day after tomorrow."
"Xia Hua, you have to come, okay? I’ve been preparing for this for a very long time, you know."
Li Yuan smiled and nodded. "Of course. Unless I physically can’t get out of bed, I’ll be there, even if I have to skip class."
Little Fish’s eyes sparkled, and a pair of faint dimples appeared on her cheeks, betraying her delight.
"Okay! I’ll be waiting for you!"
"Hehe, Xia Hua, I also want to sing a duet of "Natural Beauty" with you at the party. How about it?"
Are you kidding me? Singing a few lines at a KTV or in private is one thing, but making me sing in front of tens of thousands of Ji University students? You might as well just kill me.
Li Yuan immediately refused. "Little Fish, I’m genuinely tone-deaf. Let’s just skip it. I’d rather not make a fool of myself on stage. I’ll be happy just listening to you sing."
Little Fish blinked, her eyes fixed on Li Yuan. Her expression fell with a hint of disappointment, but then a sly twinkle appeared in her gaze as she giggled.
"Alright, then. If you don’t want to, we’ll forget about it."
Suddenly, Jiang Zhiyu asked curiously, "Xia Hua, are you the only one in your dorm? Are your roommates not around?"
Li Yuan’s heart jolted. He instinctively glanced at Liu Jia, Wu Hao, and Xu Ziqiang, who were peeking over his shoulder from beside him. An embarrassed expression crossed his face. He was tempted to say they weren’t there but feared getting caught in the lie.
Li Yuan made a subtle gesture to his roommates, then smiled and asked her, "They’re all here playing games. Do you want to say hi?"
Hearing his offer, Little Fish suddenly became shy. Her voice grew much softer as she gently shook her head.
"Um, maybe we shouldn’t disturb them."
Li Yuan breathed a sigh of relief and replied with a calm smile, "They get pretty intense when they’re gaming. Maybe our two dorms can arrange a get-together some other day."
"Mhm, okay! I’m also really curious what Xia Hua’s roommates look like."
Li Yuan could practically feel the tension radiating from Liu Jia, Wu Hao, and the others. Even their breathing had become heavier.
"Little Fish, you should get some rest. I’m going to write for a bit longer."
"Okay! Good night, Xia Hua. Sweet dreams. I miss you!"
"Good night! See you the day after tomorrow."

The moment Li Yuan ended the video call with Little Fish, his ears were assaulted by the mocking impressions of Liu Jia, Wu Hao, and the others.
"Xia Hua, I miss you!"
"Xia Hua, do you miss me?"
"Xia Hua, I’ll be waiting for you!"
Li Yuan coughed, glaring helplessly at these troublemakers as he rubbed his forehead. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"Alright, you guys, that’s enough. If you mimic her one more time, I’ll be over there to shove a ’Courtyard Flower’ where the sun doesn’t shine."
"Xia Hua, I’m so scared," Liu Jia cackled in a mock-whiny voice. "Don’t be mean to little old me."
A shiver ran down Li Yuan’s spine, and goosebumps erupted on his skin. Wiping the cold sweat from his brow, he shot out a hand, grabbed Liu Jia’s wrist, and squeezed with tremendous force.
Li Yuan’s strength was immense, and Liu Jia immediately howled in pain.
"It hurts, it hurts, it hurts! Yuan, Adoptive Father, I was wrong! I’ll never do it again!"
Li Yuan snorted coldly. "Keep running your mouth, and I’ll make sure you can’t get out of bed or even use the toilet for a week."
Seeing Liu Jia’s pitiful state served as a warning to the others. Wu Hao and Xu Ziqiang hurriedly swallowed the words on the tips of their tongues.
Wu Hao quickly gave his assurance, "Ahem, Yuan, the three of us will definitely keep this a secret for you. We absolutely won’t breathe a word of it."
Xu Ziqiang, who had already exposed Li Yuan’s secret once before, was now practically swearing on his life. "Yuan, please believe me! I won’t let it slip either!"
Seeing their reactions, Li Yuan offered a faint smile. "Guys, Little Fish’s situation is a bit complicated, and I still haven’t figured it all out myself. I hope you can keep this a secret for me. Otherwise, we might not even be able to be brothers anymore."
Liu Jia bobbed his head frantically. He shook out his wrist, where a deep, red handprint was now visible.
"Yuan, have we met that Little Fish you were talking to before?"
Li Yuan nodded with a smile. "She’s the one in the hanfu you guys were following on the first day of school."
The realization dawned on Liu Jia. The image of the stunning beauty in the hanfu flashed in his mind, and his voice filled with envy as he spoke.
"Yuan, you’re amazing. You’ve got the main flag flying at home, while the other colorful flags are still standing strong outside."
"Teach us a thing or two, will you?"
"Liu Jia, what nonsense are you spouting? She’s just my sister," Li Yuan snapped, shooting him an annoyed glance.
Liu Jia gave him a knowing look and replied with a sly grin, "Hehe, I get it. You’re like ’brother and sister,’ huh? The kind that aren’t actually related."
Li Yuan glared and shot back with a laugh, "Liu Jia, you son of a bitch! A dog’s mouth really can’t spit ivory!"
