The rising sun quickly made the land hot. Because the island was lush with plants, the trees were tall and sturdy, and walking under their shade, one didn't feel the biting heat of the sun, instead, there was a hint of coolness.

This was something you couldn't experience indoors.

Spidy and Spidy were following the two of them.

After eating his fill, Finn retreated to his territory to rest, having no tasks at hand.

With its massive and clumsy body, Jimmy Horne generally wouldn't take it out. Moreover, Camila Ruiz was somewhat afraid of Finn; her face would always change a little when she saw it.

"Where are we going now?"

As they walked, Camila Ruiz kept observing the surroundings. The greenery here was excellent, something you couldn't find in T City.

Jimmy Horne bent down to break a tender blade of grass and put it in his mouth. When he heard Camila Ruiz's question, he turned to glance at her, then walked to a small grassy area under the trees. He didn't care about the cleanliness of the ground and sat down on the grass without a care, lying back and smiling slightly, "Where do you want to go?"

Standing beside him, Camila Ruiz looked down at him from above. No wonder he always had a youthful vibe; it turned out he liked rolling on the grass.

Where did she want to go?

Would he fulfill her wish?

She wanted to go home.

Though the greenery here was beautiful, and the air felt unpolluted, the actions of those Demons always made her scalp tingle. Just last night, she was targeted for assassination twice in a matter of hours: once by gunfire, and the other time by some unknown weapon. Jimmy Horne had dug her out of the room, and she only heard Kay Kennal's low curse without seeing him, not knowing what weapon he wanted to use to kill her.

In their eyes, human life seemed as insignificant as ants; they would kill as they wished, without hesitation.

She had no enmity or acquaintance with them.

Just by being with Jimmy Horne, they were willing to ruthlessly push her to the brink of death.

Thinking about the teachings that Jimmy Horne received from them, Camila Ruiz felt her heart tighten. She didn't want Jimmy Horne to become as heartless as they were; he should at least retain some humanity.

Jimmy Horne had once confided that such a lifestyle was normal, meaning he faced multiple assassination attempts every day.

How could the Blazing Gate have such a training method? Even as their young master, Jimmy Horne was subjected to assassination attempts by others in the gate, including his own teachers.

This method was truly disheartening.

Uncle Noah was so ruthless.

Camila Ruiz didn't understand the Blazing Gate; she thought it was merciless, all connected to Noah Reyes, not realizing he was also a victim of the gate's rule.

"I can walk to every corner here with my eyes closed—up the mountain, into the sea. You choose."

Jimmy Horne chuckled softly, and his smile made his handsome face even more attractive.

Camila Ruiz's eyes were dazzled by his smile. Returning to her senses, she wondered if she could take him with her when she left. Although they used to be mortal enemies and had some friction after reuniting, seeing a young master like him living in such hardship in this godforsaken place made her uneasy.

"Don't look at me like that, like some kind of jilted woman," Jimmy Horne teased.

"You're the jilted one."

Camila Ruiz instinctively retorted.

In front of him, she showed her most genuine side.

"I'm not a woman."

Jimmy Horne pouted, laughing quietly. As he was in his puberty, his voice was changing, becoming slightly hoarse, so he preferred speaking in a low tone.

In fact, his voice was quite pleasant when lowered, with a hint of a mature man's charm, pleasing to the ear.

Gazing at her, Jimmy Horne's eyes flickered with faint heartache and some unfathomable depth.

"At the end of August, I'll arrange for someone to take you home."

He understood her thoughts.

Taking her away was partly to ease his longing and partly to integrate her into his world in advance, so she could adapt to its harshness. He didn't want the world to frighten her later, so preparation was necessary.

Of course, he wouldn't say any of this out loud.

She understood romantic feelings less deeply than he did.

Even if he expressed it, she might not understand, or worse, become frightened.

Jimmy Horne felt a small sense of pride; training a beloved wife needed to start from a young age.

Camila Ruiz pursed her lips, staying silent.

Living without a phone, without a computer, she felt like she was living a primitive life. Modern people were used to having high-tech products in their lives.

"How's my big brother doing?"

Jimmy Horne shifted the topic to Ivan Horne.

Despite being forcibly separated for ten years, he still held a deep respect for Ivan. He didn't know why he admired someone just two hours older than him, perhaps because of Ivan's steady demeanor.

After so many years here, besides learning knowledge, he underwent various training. He couldn't help but admire the Blazing Gate's method of cultivation, harsh yet thorough. Despite being only fifteen, the Demons had pushed him to complete college-level courses, and by the time he left, he would be ready to earn a college diploma.

"I haven't seen Brother Ivan in a while either. When I was in my sophomore year, he skipped to his senior year, took the university entrance exam in June, and I don't know how he did. I thought of going on a relaxing trip with him during the summer holiday, but who knew..." Camila Ruiz shot another glare at Jimmy Horne; it was all his fault for ruining her summer plans.

Jimmy Horne closely observed her expressions, especially when she mentioned Ivan, not wanting to miss any of her reactions. When he saw her natural expression, his heart was relieved.

What he feared most was her heart being stolen by his cousin during these ten years apart.

He knew he would inevitably have rivals in love. Although Camila wasn't an extraordinary beauty, she was charmingly delicate, especially with her captivating dimples when she smiled, drawing people in. She could have competition, but he didn't want it to be his revered cousin.

His uncle and aunt were childhood sweethearts, and so were his cousin and Camila. If...

From what it seemed now, he needn't have worried; her tone and expression purely regarded her cousin as a brother.

"He's always been excellent."

Jimmy Horne sighed softly.

Camila Ruiz didn't respond, silently agreeing with his words.

In her eyes, Ivan was indeed excellent, so much so that it made her feel like a clumsy ugly duckling in his presence. Even though Brother Ivan always emphasized that she was also a smart child.
