Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 806 - 804: Hidden Seeds of Affection (2)
"Tomorrow, I'll have Oscar Evans go to Syrena to inform Auntie Rachel and Uncle Ted that you're here with me," Jimmy Horne tilted his head, speaking seriously. As he saw her hair being tossed by the sea breeze, he couldn't help but reach out and gently toy with her locks.
"When you were little, you loved to have your hair tied up. You were so cute. Now that you wear your hair down, you're very pretty."
Camila Ruiz brushed his hand away, her tone still unfriendly, "I don't know who just said I don't look quite good. Aren't you contradicting yourself now?" This guy has loved teasing her since they were kids, and it hasn't changed.
After all, she was a lovely and charming girl, and he actually dared to say she doesn't look quite good.
She remembered Sister Florence being quite beautiful. As a child, everyone called Sister Florence a little beauty. If he liked beauties, why not kidnap Florence instead of her, who supposedly doesn't look that good?
Women love to hold grudges!
Jimmy Horne gave her a deep look, carrying a hint of meaningful amusement between his brows.
Camila Ruiz shivered slightly; sometimes his gaze made her feel strange.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
Jimmy Horne muttered softly.
"What?"
The sea breeze was strong, and the sound of waves loud; Camila Ruiz didn't catch what he said.
"Nothing."
Jimmy had no intention of repeating himself. They were too young now, and since he hadn't yet left the base, he wasn't brave enough to let her know how his heart was changing.
The moment he kidnapped her and touched her face, he knew what he wanted.
"Really annoying, speaking halfway and leaving the rest," Camila Ruiz bent down, brushed off the rock, and sat down.
Gazing towards the distant sea, though there was nothing to see, she found she liked this outlook, the fluctuating emotions, now slightly calmed.
Even in the urgency, it was pointless; Jimmy Horne had said this place was deserted, with no phone or computer, unable to reassure her family of her safety.
She could only stare at the eastern horizon, hoping for the sun to rise sooner so Jimmy could notify her parents of her safety and whereabouts.
Jimmy Horne also sat down, shoulder to shoulder, watching the sea together, whispering of the past ten years. Though their worlds had been apart, speaking to each other, they discovered they could merge into each other's worlds, sometimes angry, sometimes distressed, sometimes laughing.
Meanwhile, in Syrena, T City.
Ruiz Family.
Rachel Bailey's eyes were swollen, tears unable to stop, like beads on a broken string continuously falling.
She hadn't eaten a morsel nor drank a drop.
No news whatsoever about her daughter; she couldn't eat anything.
The kidnappers took her daughter, but what's their motive? No calls for contact, and their people couldn't find any trace of the kidnappers.
Hansen Ruiz and Glades Horne were powerhouses in T City, their influence reaching every corner of the city. Typically, when they sought someone, they'd always find them. Even when Noah Reyes was mysterious, Hansen Ruiz managed to locate Noah's whereabouts, albeit with much time and effort.
"Rachel, please take a bite, would you? You can't go on like this. You need to eat so you have the strength to keep waiting for news." Julia offered a bowl of rice to Rachel, urging her.
Neither Hansen Ruiz nor Glades Horne was present; they were still searching for Camila's whereabouts.
It's now ten o'clock at night.
Since four in the afternoon, nearly six hours have passed with no news of Camila. Their hearts clung to the edge of anxiety, fearing Camila might've encountered misfortune.
Hansen Ruiz desperately wanted to stay by his grieving wife's side, but he couldn't. His priority was to find their daughter.
He dared not even inform his family, fearing his septuagenarian parents couldn't bear the impact.
The Horne Family was already aware. The five Horne brothers employed every possible connection to assist in finding her.
Rachel shook her head; no news of her daughter—how could she eat?
Ivan Horne sat not far away, his handsome face slightly stern, seemingly deep in thought.
Camila received a call, went out, and then disappeared.
They checked the caller ID and discovered the number was hidden.
It appears their opponent is well-prepared.
Who could've kidnapped Camila and erased all traces, wiped all news? Who in T City possesses such clever and strong counter-investigative capabilities? Unless it's the Blaze Gate of Uncle Ted. Blaze Gate? Ivan's brows furrowed deeper; for unknown reasons, thinking of Blaze Gate always quickened his heartbeat. Could it really be Blaze Gate's people? But why would Blaze Gate's people take Camila? She held no grudges against them, and even if there were any, considering Uncle Ted, they'd dare not act against her, would they?
Unless...
Camila had always wanted news of Jimmy.
If they lured her with Jimmy's news...
Wait!
Ivan's thoughts suddenly cleared.
He boldly speculated that the one who took Camila is Jimmy Horne.
Jimmy Horne is in some base for training, and as summer break begins, the lad might be bored and looking for company, and his first choice would undeniably be Camila, so…
Ivan knew this guess was bold, baseless, and evidence-free. Moreover, since Jimmy was sent to the base, they hadn't received a shred of news for ten years. Whether Jimmy was alive or dead remained unknown. Ivan believed Jimmy was surely alive; with Jimmy's brilliance, he'd undoubtedly succeed in living out of the base.
"Mom."
Ivan stood up and walked toward Julia.
Julia was trying to get Rachel to eat; hearing her son's call, she raised her eyes and, with a hint of exhaustion in her voice, asked, "What's wrong?"
"Mom, I have something to tell you." Ivan glanced at Rachel, contemplating first sharing his bold guess with his mother. If she agreed after analyzing it, then he would inform his father and Uncle Ruiz. But Auntie Rachel was overly worried; he thought best to keep it from her for now, lest her hope might turn into a huge disappointment if his guess was incorrect.
Already at fifteen, Ivan Horne handled matters with a touch of Glades Horne's style: meticulous, bold, and decisive.
Julia looked at her son, understanding his intentions, signaled Christopher Ruiz and his brother to stay with Rachel, then stood up and turned out of the hall into the courtyard, Ivan following her.
Turning back, Julia watched her already taller-than-her eldest son and asked softly, "Ivan, what do you want to tell mom? Something you can't let Auntie Rachel know?"
Ivan didn't beat around the bush and directly shared his speculations with Julia.
