Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 635: Lure the Tiger Away from the Mountain (4)_1
Before leaving, the young master had given her new instructions to attack Glades Horne from both sides. They were to interfere in the business sector, confronting the Valence Group head-on, and also create troubles in Glades Horne's private life. This would force him to battle on two fronts, leaving him overwhelmed and frantic. This strategy would greatly benefit the establishment and growth of the Black Emperor Group.
The young master had given her a timeline of three years. The minimum goal was to bring the Black Emperor Group on par with the Valence Group. Of course, the best outcome would be for the Black Emperor Group to replace the Valence Group.
In his private life, the one who could throw Glades Horne off balance was naturally his beloved wife.
The young master's directive provided her with a legitimate avenue to intrude upon Julia's life.
Banking on her status as Silvia Baxter, the likely heir to the Baxter Family, along with the business relationship between the Valence Group and the Baxter Family, she could justify a prolonged stay in T City.
To find a chance to be alone with Julia, she had people monitor the Horne Family's movements closely. When she saw Glades Horne and Julia leave without bodyguards, she acted. She simultaneously sent someone to provoke James Horne, using his mother's situation as a pretext. This enraged the drunk James to the point of assault, leading to his arrest at the Police Station. Meanwhile, she waited nearby, only making her presence known after Glades Horne had left.
Her use of the "luring the tiger away from the mountain" strategy was executed perfectly.
"I'm sorry, Miss Baxter, I don't have the time," Julia declined coldly.
A look of barely suppressed disgust was evident on her lovely face.
Miss Baxter? Ruby couldn't believe it and exclaimed softly, "She's a woman?"
"Hello, Miss Ruby, my name is Silvia Baxter," Silvia Baxter said with great poise, turning towards Ruby Bluen and extending her hand for a handshake.
Ruby smiled awkwardly, embarrassed by her earlier outburst, and instinctively reached out her hand as well.
"Let's go, sister," said Julia, grabbing her sister's extended hand and pushing the stroller to pass by Silvia Baxter.
"What a cute little baby," Silvia Baxter suddenly exclaimed and took a step forward, attempting to pick up Ivan.
"Don't touch my son!"
Julia's face darkened, and she glared at Silvia Baxter with the defensive instinct of a mother hen, her entire demeanor becoming icily threatening.
Stopped in her tracks by Julia's stare and seeing the stormy expression on her face, Silvia realized that Julia emitted a chilling and intimidating presence, as if Julia would chop off her hands the moment she touched Ivan.
Julia quickly picked up her son.
Silvia always gave her an unfriendly vibe, and she feared Silvia might harm her son.
Ruby was quite surprised.
"Julia, don't push people away," Silvia said, standing upright.
"Miss Baxter, if you have any official business, you can talk to my Glades. If not, please don't appear in front of me in the future," Julia said coolly, her face as taut as marble. She couldn't believe she could be as unyielding and cold-hearted as Glades.
Carrying her son and pushing the stroller, she didn't want to deal with Silvia Baxter anymore and headed back to the Horne family villa.
"Julia."
Silvia, whose skin was as thick as a chopping board and who seemed ignorant of shame, once again blocked Julia's path.
"Julia, if you won't do me the honor of accepting a meal, at least take these flowers," Silvia said, offering the bouquet of bright red roses to Julia Bluen once more.
Julia Bluen suddenly sneezed.
An idea sparked in her mind. She quickly stepped back several paces, a look of fear on her face as she stared at the bouquet. "I'm sorry, Miss Baxter, but I'm allergic to pollen. I'm allergic to all flowers. Please do not bring them close to me."
She's allergic to pollen?
Ruby almost burst out laughing internally. Her sister's lies were getting more and more convincing!
Silvia Baxter was slightly taken aback, not expecting Julia to be allergic to pollen.
Julia then pretended to sneeze several times in a row.
"I'm sorry."
Silvia immediately tossed the bouquet of roses into a roadside recycling bin.
"I won't give flowers anymore."
"Julia, take this then. It's just a small token of my feelings. We've met several times, and I've never given you a meeting gift before." Silvia Baxter, like a cockroach that couldn't be killed, fearlessly pulled out a red brocade box from inside her suit. Anyone who liked to browse jewelry stores could tell at a glance that it was a box typically used for rings.
"As peers, there's no need for meeting gifts. Miss Baxter, it's getting dark; we're going home. Goodbye." Oh, no, better yet, never see each other again, Julia muttered the last line internally.
Julia, holding her son, once again walked past Silvia Baxter.
Ruby closely followed her.
As sisters for over twenty years, if Ruby couldn't see Julia's wariness and dislike for Silvia Baxter, she would be failing as an older sister.
If her sister didn't like someone, she naturally wouldn't have a good impression of them either.
Julia was already married and had a child, and her husband, Glades Horne, was a well-known figure in T City. Silvia Baxter was the Baxter Family's young miss; she should be quite aware of Glades's character. Yet she dared to stir up trouble under the nose of the Horne Family. Was she intentionally trying to provoke a dispute between the Baxter and Horne families?
Even though the Valence Group wouldn't collapse without the Baxter Family as a partner, the loss would undoubtedly be significant.
If the Baxter Family lost the Valence Group, it would also be a great loss.
If Silvia Baxter truly wanted to stir up trouble, it would be harmful to both sides. Why would she bother?
This time, Silvia Baxter didn't stop Julia again.
The red brocade box she held out hung suspended in mid-air, containing a ring worth over a million.
Silvia thought of her master's orders and her mission.
Pity for Julia showed in Silvia Baxter's eyes.
If she couldn't snatch Julia away from Glades Horne's side, then she would have to destroy her.
Such a charming and attractive woman; it really was a pity to destroy her.
Her gaze hardened, and a faint smile floated on Silvia Baxter's lips. I will definitely find a way to break up Glades Horne and Julia Bluen. Given Glades's deep commitment to Julia, if she leaves, Glades will surely break down. That would be very useful for the Black Emperor Group in replacing Valence.
The young master is indeed too shrewd, too ruthless, too wise!
Withdrawing her gaze, Silvia Baxter turned and got back into her car. Then she took out her phone, dialed a number, and waited for the other party to answer before she commanded in a low voice, "Seven, proceed!"
Only after a response did she hang up the call.
Sinking into her seat and peering through the front windshield, she watched Julia's retreating figure in the distance, bathed in the evening sunlight that was fading in the western sky. Her smile, however, was chillingly sinister.
The Black Emperor Group, still in the planning stages, had already singled out the Valence Group.
Noah Reyes and Glades Horne, two men of similar influence and dominion, had unwittingly entered into a conflict.
River Mountain was too alluring, and there were plenty of ambitious contenders vying for it. Who will the deer fall to? Let's wait and see.
