Primordial Villain With A Slave Harem-Chapter 635: Reaching Canisgard

"Stop pouting, you know damn well you deserved it," I chided Vex while reaching below Raika, lifting her into my arms.

The surreal laws of Thalorind were once again in effect, making my brain desperately scramble to accept my new reality. Raika, this brutal woman who dropped from the clouds just to land an earth-shattering punch on our enemy, was so damn lithe. My logic dictated she should weigh tons, but she was light, similar in weight to Lucille.

"But!!" Vex whined like a pampered little girl who was scolded by her father for the first time.

"No buts. Let's move."

A much stronger pout welcomed my words, but no one paid attention to this eccentric woman. We knew doing so would only make our lives harder.

As we stepped out of the infirmary, Ayame brought up a good question. "Should we bring the loser squad with us?"

"Eh…" No one was too eager about the prospect.

"I mean, they were given to us to act as our meatshields, right…?" Aurora asked with uncertainty evident in her voice. Even as disposable pawns, she was reluctant to spend more of her time on the bunch.

While I did say I was ready to embrace my secrets—namely my race—being leaked to the broad world, that didn't mean I would just stand idly by and let that happen. My current philosophy could be summed up as 'I don't want the world to know I'm a primordial, but if the secret gets out, oh well. It is what it is.' I was tired of always being worried about people learning it, so now that I was able to afford to have this attitude, it felt straight-up liberating.

Due to my current thoughts, allowing Ryker and gang to stay unsupervised was a no-go. Not only did they have first-hand experience with my unique abilities, but they were also humans. If Sova walked up to the leaders of the Consortium and said I had all these powers to my name, they would take it with a grain of salt if not outright ignore her claims. But if it was Ryker, a human who was a relatively high-ranked member of the syndicate, the reception of this information would be vastly different.

"Let's keep them with us for the time being," multiple wry sighs welcomed my words, but none offered a rebuttal. They each understood my thought process.

As such, we began our journey to the nearby dogkin territories.

"Are you excited to see how your race's lands are? It's the first time you step foot in dogkin-ruled lands," Lucille inquired with a warm tone. Technically, we've already seen some of the dogkin lands because the resistance base was already situated there, so she meant whether Blossom was excited to see how her people lived.

She shook her head. "Should Ghosty be? She doesn't care. Her home is where Master is, and the only dogkin she cares about are Natalie and Poppy."

"Hmm… Makes sense," the caramel-haired beauty accepted Blossom's reply.

"Halt!" It didn't take long for a patrol unit to sniff us out.

"Hands in the air!" another barked. There were about twenty of them, they quickly moved to surround us.

"As if the cowardly kittens weren't enough, we now have to worry about the hairless monkeys invading us as well?!" a third one cried.

"Wait, I smell the scent of a divine female!"

*Sniff* *Sniff* *Sniff*

The entire group began sniffing the air.

"You're right!"

"Damn, this is some heavenly scent."

"Why does she smell so much better than my wife?!"

"Unlike your wife, this one probably didn't allow an entire tribe's worth of men into her folds. Women and their 'exploratory' phases… Disgusting."

"What did you say?!"

"Stop it!" the head honcho snarled at his underlings before turning toward us. "I apologize for my team's behavior. Tell us what you want."

… Let's just say I wasn't impressed, not at all.

Sova stepped forth. "I'm Windbreaker, the leader of the aerial units of the 4th resistance army. We suffered heavy casualties, and if not for these humans, we would've all been wiped out."

"… Wiped out?" the dogkin asked with disbelief. "Our reports indicate the lionkin are stretched thin."

"They are," Sova nodded before pointing at the woman carried by Vex. "They have secret backers. This necromancer woman and her giant undead army were the ones who met us in their lands, alongside a slave army made up of beastkin. Our saviors believe she is part of the organization operating in the Ravenshade Dutchy of the human kingdom called 'Covenant of Eternity.'"

Hearing her words, the dogkin soldiers focused their nostrils on the woman and sniffed once again. This time around, instead of euphoria due to Blossom's heavenly aroma, they grimaced strongly, so much so that some even gagged. The stench of undeath was unmistakable even for my nose, so I could only imagine what it smelled like for them.

However, the leader quickly came to his senses as a giant grin emerged on his face. "This is what we've been waiting for all these years! A proof of the lionkin breaking the law!"

Having said that, he pulled his communication artifact out. "This is Barkus speaking! Connect me to the boss."

<Barkus? Seriously?> Seraphiel asked before she burst into merry laughter.

<Blossom agrees. It's a horrible name.> If even my dogkin thought so, then that meant it was truly bad.

<I can't help but wonder if he gets some puss, if you know what I mean…> I added.

<No way!> Seraphiel denied any such possibility immediately.

<Well, he is a squad leader…> Lyra protested. Maybe rank alone was enough to overcome the cursed heritage his parents left him with.

It didn't take long for the news to reach the highest echelons of the government, after which we were invited straight to the leader's residence who called the other beastkin leaders. After learning about the new development, they each agreed to rush here immediately to hold the most important meeting in the history of the Beastman Confederation.

As such, we were given a hero's welcome into the dogkin region. Besides the twenty patrol units, the leader sent a thousand soldiers to meet us on the way, who joined in on the procession as if they were honor guards.

Unlike lionkin, dogkin were much more receptive to living in bigger settlements. Despite Blossom being quite the scatterbrain, it quickly became evident that most of her people were crafty beings.

Instead of hunting most of their food as the lionkin did, they had ranches where they raised livestock. It wasn't like the lionkin were incapable of achieving such a thing—Vex's story about humans being farmed by lionkin as if they were cattle was more than enough evidence for that.

They just lived for the hunt, finding joy in the adrenaline-filled chase and the bloody aftermath, or so I assumed.

Barkus took the lead of the conversation on the way to the capital where the meeting would take place.

Our journey took only a few hours. Soon, his voice rang proudly, "We've reached Canisgard!" It was clear based on his tone full of wonder he admired this dogkin settlement greatly.

In front of the city's grand entrance, a military unit was already waiting for us. One of them, an officer, stepped forward. His gaze landed on the unconscious necromancer still dangling in Vex's arms thanks to the stake-chain combo she utilized to carry this woman.

"We'll take her from here," he said, motioning for his men to seize the woman, before explaining, "She needs to be in speaking condition for the meeting. We'll handle that."

None of us protested. Seraphiel didn't have a way to wake her, so I could only guess what sort of methods they would try, but I wasn't invested in her fate. If she had to be tortured, that was more than fine with me.

With their task completed, the majority of the army soldiers detached, leaving us alone. However, a much smaller group lingered. Their presence felt different—they were less like soldiers and more like figures of authority. Then, I noticed him.

A large, muscular dogkin with graying hair and piercing golden eyes stepped forward, exuding a quiet but undeniable dominance while doing so. This must be their leader, there was no doubt in my mind. His aura alone informed me he was the big boss.
