Primordial Awakening: I Can Evolve My Skills Infinitely-Chapter 76: The Titan’s Core, Charged Crescent Slash
Chapter 76: The Titan’s Core, Charged Crescent Slash
After the [Titan’s Mark] shattered, Sam finally saw what lay behind it.
Where there had once been a symbol of blinding power, there was now only a hollow void in the middle of the titan’s head.
A massive, cracked hole surrounded by dark, jagged skin.
Like a crater carved by force itself, it stretched wide across its upper face.
And inside that hollow space, right at the center, floated a single purple flame.
[Hell-Mode Analysis: The core is here.]
Sam’s eyes sharpened.
That was it, the titan’s true weakness.
But despite knowing what needed to be done, he was still trapped within the titan’s hand, unable to move.
The grip hadn’t loosened. He was still caught, still being squeezed.
"You shouldn’t have done this, Primordial."
The titan’s voice was low, heavy with fury.
Its agitation had vanished, replaced by cold focus.
It raised its hand, Sam still within its grasp, and brought it closer to the open hole in its head, closer to the glowing flame that pulsed like a heart.
"Did you really think shattering the star would kill me?" it continued, tone sharper than ever before. "That mistake will be your end. And I am not going to waste any more time."
The grip began to tighten again, crushing with renewed pressure.
Sam’s body creaked under the weight, and blood spilled from the side of his mouth.
At the same time, the purple flame in the center of the titan’s head began to flare brighter, charging power that grew stronger by the second.
"Weaken you... then use you as fuel for my core," it said with laughter now. "A fitting end for a parasite like you."
Sam didn’t reply, but his eyes remained locked on the core, unwavering.
Even as his ribs compressed and his organs threatened to give in, the crimson aura in his eyes ignited again.
He refused to surrender. And with a sharp breath, and a surge of effort, he forced one arm free from the titan’s grasp.
He didn’t need to slash the titan’s skin anymore, he knew it wouldn’t work. So instead...
Tendrils of Oblivion!
Dozens of black tendrils lashed out from his sword, rushing toward the purple flame.
At the same time, he summoned several [Abyssal Obliteration] portals above him, which began to fire bullets directly at the core.
But the tendrils never reached it.
They burned the moment they touched the flame, evaporating like ash in wind.
The bullets didn’t fare any better. They struck the surrounding energy and bounced off, doing nothing.
"Keep trying," the titan said, its grip tightening again. "I enjoy watching your desperation."
Sam’s vision blurred. His breathing got shallower. And still, the flame burned on.
Then, without warning, the grip around him slightly loosened.
"Strange. I used the same force as with the clone... yet you’re still alive," it muttered, bringing its hand even closer to the core. "Well, that determination is what powers you, isn’t it?"
Sam refused to give up. And that’s when he saw it. The flame.
The purple core had finished charging.
"I would say that it was fun," the titan spoke one last time, "but fighting you was a drag. Goodbye."
The core flared. The flame expanded. And then it launched the second strongest attack in the titan’s arsenal—
ROARING BEAM!
A massive column of purple energy burst out from the flame, aiming directly at Sam.
It was blinding. Colossal. Enough to destroy entire streets.
Sam barely had time to register it, but even then... he didn’t panic.
[Determination fuels your being in the face of certain death.]
And in that moment, Sam decided to risk everything. One final move.
---
[Void Rush].
[Description: You become one with the shadows, able to blend in them to surprise your enemies. You can remain in them for as long as you need.]
---
On the surface, it wasn’t a combat skill.
But Sam trusted his instincts. The titan’s body... it wasn’t normal.
It was made of shadows, pulsing with tendrils of corrupted void energy. That meant that if he could potentially use it, then...
’Here goes nothing,’ he thought, forcing his mind to sync with the skill.
And just like that, he dissolved into darkness.
His entire body faded into the shadows surrounding the titan’s arm and vanished from sight.
"What...?" the titan’s voice trembled in disbelief. "What the fuck—?"
BOOOOM!
The beam erupted, carving a hole through the battlefield. Its intensity was so overwhelming that even the titan had to lean forward to brace against the recoil.
Mountains in the distance crumbled. The ground split apart.
Flames and wind spiraled across the sub-layer as the beam raged.
But something was wrong. The titan’s hand was now empty. And Sam had disappeared.
’No... I had him. He was right there. I weakened him, he couldn’t have escaped...’
The beam continued for a few seconds longer, then finally faded. Smoke covered everything.
And that’s when the titan felt it.
A presence, small, quiet, but unmistakable, moving through its body.
"You..." Its face contorted. "YOU’RE INSIDE ME!"
[Keep going.]
Sam nodded to himself as he moved through the titan’s form.
He had done it. He had merged with the shadow-like flesh of the titan, moving through the cracks, through the energy, avoiding each strike as the titan tried to slap itself in frustration.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
It kept smashing itself, trying to find him.
But Sam was too fast.
He weaved upward, dodging each collision.
Then, after a few more seconds, he reached it. The top.
Sam exploded outward from within the titan’s forehead, bursting into the air in front of its face.
He hovered just a few meters away, the Primordial Sword gripped tightly in his hand.
He was covered in blood. But still breathing. Still alive. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
"FOOL!" the titan roared as it swung its arm. "GOODBYE!"
The massive claws smashed into Sam, sending him flying backward.
He managed to block with his sword, but the impact still slammed into his side, making him cough up more blood mid-air.
"GOT YOU!" the titan yelled, laughing. "You’re falling now. That’s it! Game over!"
Its purple core began to flare again, ready to fire a second [Roaring Beam].
But Sam didn’t care. He didn’t run. He didn’t dodge.
Instead, he gritted his teeth, held his sword tightly, and focused all of his aura into one place.
’A normal attack won’t work,’ he thought, ’And even [Crescent Clash] isn’t enough...’
That’s why, he decided to unleash a single, final slash. One that fused everything he had.
Shadow. Chaos. Void.
He let all of it explode into one single moment of power.
And when the energy reached its peak, his aura flared crimson, black, orange, and silver, each swirling and spiraling together.
Then, he swung.
CHARGED CRESCENT SLASH!
A massive crescent of energy tore through the air, big enough to engulf the titan’s entire head.
Seeing that, the titan panicked. It fired the [Roaring Beam] again.
Two titanic attacks collided. Beam versus slash.
For a second, it looked like they might cancel each other out.
But that illusion broke instantly. Sam’s crescent slash shattered the beam as if it were nothing.
It carved through it, clean and straight.
"FUCK—WHY WON’T YOU DIE!?"
The crescent collided directly with the hollow space in the titan’s head—striking the purple core with full force.
The flame cracked. Then shattered. Then vanished. Gone without a trace.
The titan froze.
"You..." it whispered, "You beat me..."
Its energy drained. Its voice weakened.
"...But... at least... I took you with me..."
The titan looked down, and for a moment, it smiled, pleased that Sam was still falling, wounded, broken, with no strength left to survive the landing.
And then—
Fwish! BOOOOOM!
The titan’s body collapsed.
Its giant form fell like a mountain, the weight of its death shaking the entire arena as it hit the ground.
The mark was gone. The core was gone. The titan was dead.
Meanwhile, high above the battlefield, Sam’s body continued to fall through the air, blood trailing from his lips.
He had won. But he was still falling.
And there was no one left to catch him.
Yet even then...
[Keep going.]
Sam knew he couldn’t give up.
