Practicing Medical Skills in a Small Clinic-Chapter 113 - 104: Cured with One Move, Trouble for the Medical Department (Part 3)
I don’t know if these two leaders from the medical office are here for a routine inspection, or if they’ve received a complaint and are targeting Li Jingsheng, the impostor doctor?
"What’s your name?"
Deputy Director Shang Zhi fixed a sharp, eagle-like gaze on Li Jingsheng.
The invisible pressure made Li Jingsheng’s heart race.
"Li Jingsheng."
He answered honestly.
"You’re not from this hospital, are you?"
"Yes!"
"Old Xu, bring him along to the office with us."
After speaking, Director Shang directly walked out.
The woman who accompanied him stayed behind, giving Li Jingsheng a cold look.
"It’s nothing, we just need to give an explanation."
Doctor Xu comforted Li Jingsheng with a word as they walked out.
Li Jingsheng followed them to the medical office, and the female leader stayed right behind him, more like supervising a prisoner.
Inside the office, Director Shang wore a stern expression.
"Old Xu, you’ve worked in the hospital for many years and you should know the hospital regulations. How did you bring an external hospital doctor in?"
Director Shang didn’t scold Li Jingsheng but pursued Doctor Xu’s responsibility.
"I reported this matter to the department and got permission. You can call our orthopedic department to confirm."
Doctor Xu appeared relaxed, seemingly prepared.
Li Jingsheng stood by, sweat dampening his palms.
He was well aware that as a doctor from a small clinic, he was insignificant compared to a giant like the second hospital.
Their disinterest in even looking at him directly.
Once Doctor Xu’s responsibility was taken up, it would be time for Li Jingsheng’s punishment.
Don’t assume just because he doesn’t work at the second hospital they can’t deal with him.
If they want to, there are plenty of ways to handle him.
Simply report to the superior departments, and Li Jingsheng wouldn’t be able to escape.
Of course, they wouldn’t easily involve superior departments. For these minor issues, it’s typically handled internally.
Director Shang signaled to the female assistant, "Xiaolei, call and ask the orthopedic department."
The female assistant returned to the medical office and directly took off her white coat, revealing the white professional outfit underneath.
Also revealed was her slim figure.
She walked to her desk and used the landline to verify.
After a moment, she finished the call.
Sitting without rising, she turned her head towards Director Shang.
"Director Shang, I just inquired, Doctor Xu did indeed report this matter to the department head. Their department head is currently hosting an important consultation, and will come personally to explain to you once it’s done."
Director Shang nodded, his expression easing somewhat.
"You guys sit over there for a while. Old Xu, write a report. From the nature of this matter, it’s quite severe. Our hospital hasn’t set such a precedent."
Director Shang’s tone remained stern.
After criticizing Doctor Xu, he turned to Li Jingsheng.
"Which hospital are you a doctor at?"
"I now run my own clinic. I was previously a doctor at the First Hospital."
Li Jingsheng confessed everything candidly.
"This is simply outrageous, a clinic doctor brought into our hospital and blatantly practicing in the outpatient department."
Director Shang turned red after hearing Li Jingsheng ran a clinic.
Originally assuming Li Jingsheng was at least a doctor from a legitimate hospital, using Doctor Xu’s connections to learn some bone-setting techniques.
Unexpectedly, he was just a clinic doctor.
This was unacceptable, treating the second hospital like what?
At this moment, someone came looking for the medical office leader’s signature.
They didn’t directly seek out the leader, but looked for the female assistant named Xiaolei.
Many signatures followed this procedure.
The leader’s time was precious, and couldn’t be expended on trivial matters.
For signatures, it’s usually the leader’s assistant who reviews before handing it over to the leader to sign.
"Oh, Dr. Li! It’s really you!"
The person seeking the medical office leader’s signature was none other than Dr. Tang Weilin from the respiratory department.
Tasks like running to the medical office or other administrative departments for signatures are usually done by those below the attending physician level.
Tang Weilin is merely an intern doctor, and running errands for senior doctors is likely a routine part of his job.
Seeing Li Jingsheng here, he was extremely surprised yet delighted.
Because just yesterday, the patient who was ’misdiagnosed with lung cancer’ called to cancel the complaint against them and apologized.
The previously obstinate family and patient suddenly changed their attitude by 180 degrees — only one possibility.
Li Jingsheng must have intervened.
Tang Weilin initially planned to find time after work today to visit Li Jingsheng’s clinic, but unexpectedly saw him here.
"Hello! Dr. Tang!"
Li Jingsheng nodded in response.
"Thank you so much for that matter. The family has already called us, the issue has been satisfactorily resolved. By the way, why are you here?"
Tang Weilin hesitated to say much in front of other doctors.
Switching topics, curious about why Li Jingsheng was at the second hospital’s medical office?
Dr. Tang being acquainted with Li Jingsheng made Director Shang’s expression even more unpleasant. This societal doctor, impressive skills, knowing so many doctors at the second hospital.
"Him, a clinic doctor pretending to be one of our second hospital’s doctors, sneaking into the outpatient bone-setting department for practice—isn’t that absurd?"
Xiaolei answered for Li Jingsheng nearby.
"Ah... this must be some misunderstanding! Dr. Li’s character is very upright."
Tang Weilin’s low status prevented him from helping here.
Judging by the situation, the medical office might penalize Li Jingsheng.
He looked rather anxious.
"Hmph, caught red-handed by me and Director Shang, with concrete evidence. Do you think it’s a misunderstanding? This could even alarm the dean. I admire his daring."
Xiaolei’s statement was plainly sarcastic.
She quietly mocked Li Jingsheng for his audacity, daring to practice in the outpatient department of the second hospital.
Tang Weilin didn’t speak further, quickly signed, and left.
He didn’t even say goodbye to Li Jingsheng.
Doctor Xu dutifully wrote his review, and Li Jingsheng standing nearby felt guilty.
He felt he’d dragged Doctor Xu into this.
He did ask Doctor Xu at the time if this would cause issues, but Doctor Xu said it wouldn’t.
Watching the time tick by, Li Jingsheng felt a bit anxious.
At five minutes past ten, he still had to hurry back to Sunshine Clinic to work.
The small clinic’s business had just picked up somewhat, and he had to cautiously maintain it.
"Leaders, how about this? I have matters at my clinic, let me leave a phone number, and you can contact me if there’s any issue. I need to return to work. Also, this matter isn’t Doctor Xu’s fault; any penalties should be on me."
Li Jingsheng had always been loyal.
Previously loyal to those fair-weather friends, resulting in countless disappointments, he’s grown wiser now.
Only those like Doctor Xu and Tang Ping who are genuinely kind to him would be considered friends.
