Possessed No More: The True Star Returns to Claim Her Throne-Chapter 65: The Sinclair Consortium Headquarters
Cole Sinclair naturally heard the change in her tone, and his own grew even lighter. "Why not? Unless you don’t want to!"
"Of course I want to! I’ve always been curious about what your office is like, Mr. Sinclair. Today’s the perfect opportunity to go and see."
"Then come on over. Call me when you get here, and I’ll have my secretary come down to get you."
Riley Perry hadn’t expected President Sinclair to think of sending someone to pick her up. ’Well, that’s a rare show of consideration,’ she thought.
She changed into a white, off-the-shoulder, short-sleeved top, pairing it with a pale blue skirt. She tucked the top into the embroidered long skirt, which was adorned with countless pearls and diamonds. The outfit made Riley Perry appear even taller and leaner. She tied her long hair into a ponytail, leaving her elegant collarbones exposed. She wore a pair of pearl threader earrings and applied a pink lip balm that left her lips looking dewy and irresistibly kissable.
Fifteen minutes later, Riley Perry went downstairs. Cole Sinclair had left a few cars for her there, so she casually grabbed a set of keys and drove to the headquarters of the Sinclair Corporation.
The moment Riley Perry stepped into the lobby, all eyes were drawn to her.
It wasn’t that they’d never seen stunning women before, but the beauty standing before them was clearly different. She was breathtaking yet elegant, captivating without being ostentatious—her beauty was absolute. It took the receptionist a long moment to snap out of her daze and remember her duties. "Miss... Miss, may I ask who you’re here to see? Do you have an appointment?"
Riley Perry gave the receptionist a dazzling smile. "I have an appointment with your president. He’s sending someone down to get me."
The receptionist and everyone else in the lobby: ’...The mystery is solved! The mystery is solved!’
’The woman who left that bright red lipstick mark on the president’s face has to be her!’
’She must be the one who’s been sending all those gifts lately, too! No doubt about it, that has to be the story!’
’Only a woman who looks like her could ever capture our president’s heart!’
Just as they were all thinking this, Donovan Donovan from the secretarial office came downstairs.
"Mr. Donovan."
"Mr. Donovan."
Donovan Donovan adjusted the glasses on the bridge of his nose, nodding to the others with a smile. As soon as he saw Riley Perry, his expression became respectful. "Miss Perry, the president sent me to escort you upstairs. This way, please."
Riley Perry nodded at him. "Thank you, Secretary Donovan."
Donovan Donovan said hurriedly, "It’s no trouble at all, no trouble at all. In fact, we’d be thrilled if you came to visit more often, Miss Perry."
Everyone in the president’s inner circle knew that his recent good mood was all thanks to Miss Perry.
Some had even begun to think of Miss Perry as their future ’first lady’ of the company.
Ever since their boss had gotten together with Miss Perry, life had become much easier for the secretaries and assistants. So when he said he hoped Riley Perry would visit more often, he meant it with all his heart.
Soon, the two of them took the president’s private elevator to the top floor. "Miss Perry, this is the president’s office. He’s waiting for you inside. Please, go on in."
"Thanks, Secretary Donovan."
After Donovan Donovan left, Riley Perry pushed open the door to Cole Sinclair’s office.
’Truly befitting the office of the president of the Sinclair Conglomerate,’ she thought. It was enormous. Every detail of the decor exuded understated luxury. The most striking feature was a bookshelf that took up an entire wall, filled to the brim with books.
To the left was a small wet bar, its cabinets stocked with the world’s finest liquors and cigars. A gray, patterned carpet covered the floor, and she could only imagine how much a rug of that size must have cost.
Of course, the most valuable thing in the room was the man sitting behind the desk—Mr. Sinclair, who held the entire conglomerate in the palm of his hand.
Hearing the sound, Cole Sinclair looked up. He saw Riley Perry standing by the door, her head tilted as she smiled at him, the large pearls on her elegant earrings swaying playfully.
"Come here."
Riley Perry straightened up. Walking on her eight-centimeter heels across the thick carpet, she approached the man behind the massive desk. "Mr. Sinclair, am I beautiful?"
From the moment Riley Perry opened the door, Cole Sinclair’s eyes had been fixed on her. ’Is she beautiful?’
’Undoubtedly, she is. No, not just beautiful. Absolutely stunning!’
Even someone as critical as him had to admit it: Riley Perry was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Bar none.
Riley Perry rounded the desk, walked right up to him, and sat sideways in his lap. Tilting her head back, she pressed a kiss to his lips.
The kiss was brief, but it somehow reminded Cole Sinclair of the bright red lipstick mark that had caused him such utter embarrassment.
He couldn’t resist running his thumb over her pink lips, then glancing down at his fingertip. ’Good,’ he thought with relief. ’It’s transfer-proof.’
Riley Perry couldn’t help but let out a laugh. "Mr. Sinclair, my lips... aren’t they soft?"
Normally, Cole Sinclair was a man of action, not words. But this wasn’t a normal day. In a low voice, he murmured, "Mmm. And they taste like peaches."
His words had their intended effect. Riley pulled him down for another forceful kiss. It was urgent and teasing, her hand sliding up under the hem of his shirt. Her tongue tangled with his, wreaking playful havoc in his mouth until the man who had been so composed moments before was breathing heavily.
Cole Sinclair quickly pulled away, but the look he gave Riley Perry was intensely suggestive. "Feeling up to it again already?"
’Wasn’t she the one who said last night that she was going to ’fast’ for three days? She even said one session with him was like three, so she was putting up a ’no-fly’ sign for the next three days!’
Riley Perry’s smile was completely shameless. "Oh, this is *because* I’m not up to it. I just had to get my fix with a few kisses. Or... does Mr. Sinclair not like it?"
A low chuckle escaped him. "You’re not up to it, but you’re still going to tease me like this?"
’He was loving every second of it. And not just the kisses!’
"Go wait for me on the sofa. I have one more document to finish, then we can go out to eat."
Riley Perry pouted. "I have to wait? But I’m really hungry now."
"Then what do you suggest we do?"
"We’ll eat right here at your company."
Cole Sinclair glanced at her. "Fine. I’ll take you to the company cafeteria."
Riley Perry rolled her eyes at him. "Who said anything about the cafeteria? Let’s just eat here, in your office. I’m not going down there. Your company is full of people. What if someone recognizes me and posts about it online? Besides," she added, "I don’t feel like walking. These heels are too high, and my feet are already tired!"
As she spoke, she lifted the hem of her skirt to reveal a pair of small feet in silver, strappy high heels.
Her feet were perfectly shaped, and all ten of her toenails were freshly painted a pale blue. The big toes were even decorated with delicate little flowers and a sprinkle of silver glitter. They were lovely.
"Don’t worry," he said. "They wouldn’t dare."
"But if you don’t want to go out, we won’t. Just tell Henry Hayes what you’d like to eat, and he’ll have it delivered."
Riley Perry knew this was her cue that he was returning to his work. She stood up, settled onto the long sofa in his office, and pulled her phone from her white, boxy handbag to call Henry Hayes.
About fifteen minutes later, Henry Hayes came up with two lunches: one he had brought according to the president’s usual tastes, and the other, what Riley Perry had ordered.
"Miss Perry, can I get you a milk tea or some juice to go with that?"
