Pokemon: Spiritual Master-Chapter 454: The Gengar Exploration Team Sets Out Again!
Chapter 454 - The Gengar Exploration Team Sets Out Again!
"Mm-mm!! Mmmmmm!!"
In a remote corner of the vast forest, the battered and bruised Marauder was hanging from a tree, struggling.
Despite his sorry state, his life wasn't in any real danger.
If anything, the "revenge" from the wild Pokémon was far less painful than a headbutt from that Tyranitar.
His unconscious subordinates were also tied up beneath the tree.
Johan gave a signal, and Gengar did the rest.
At this moment, the Marauder saw the last people he wanted to see—the Four Generals of Team Rocket!
If he were handed over to the League or left in the wilderness for wild Pokémon, he might have some hope of escape and survival.
But upon seeing the high-ranking Rocket officers, his face turned deathly pale.
As one of Team Rocket's highest-ranking officers, he knew exactly how they dealt with traitors.
Endless mines, never-ending coal digging... and the Pokémon hunters he had once sent to labor camps.
Escape? Not even worth thinking about!
However, amidst his despair, there was a sliver of... "comfort."
Because, for his sake, all four of the Johto region's Team Rocket Generals had shown up together!
To his recollection, they had never mobilized as a group before.
From a different perspective, this was a kind of "honor." Even if he died, he had something worth bragging about.
"This tracking device is pretty accurate." Petrel had one hand in his pocket while holding a navigation device, speaking in a laid-back drawl.
"Well, well, if it isn't the great Marauder. What happened? Why do you look so miserable?" Proton taunted with a smirk.
"Mm-mm!!" The Marauder, with a broken Dark Ball stuffed in his mouth, couldn't say a word.
Archer scanned the area and caught sight of a few wild Pokémon quickly retreating.
"Looks like we made the trip for nothing. Our 'Advisor' is far more capable than we expected."
They all knew the Marauder's strength.
Aside from Archer, none of them could confidently say they could defeat him in a one-on-one fight.
And that was without considering his Dark Balls and the minions at his disposal.
No wonder Giovanni valued this "Advisor" so much. Archer silently nodded.
Archer was absolutely loyal to Giovanni, perhaps more than anyone else in Team Rocket.
It was a shame they didn't get to meet the Advisor this time and exchange a few words.
Advisor?
The Marauder's eyes filled with confusion, but then a thought struck him. His eyes widened as Johan's smiling face flashed through his mind.
That kid... was the rising star in Team Rocket, personally valued by Giovanni—the "Advisor"?!
No wonder! No wonder that kid took photos of him before Matori called!
No wonder he wasn't handed over to the League but to Team Rocket instead!
Wait!
That meant... the Four Generals hadn't mobilized for him. They had come for that Advisor!
At that moment, the last shred of dignity in the Marauder's heart was utterly crushed.
"You know..."
Ariana stepped closer, playfully tapping the broken Dark Ball in his mouth before glancing at the vines binding him.
"I really like the Advisor's binding technique."
This gag, these restraints... Ariana was pleased.
"Next time I get the chance, I must have a good chat with the Advisor." She said excitedly.
Meanwhile, on a call...
"A... a kid?"
Matori's voice was filled with disbelief.
"You mean that kid?" She carefully confirmed.
Johan rolled his eyes. "What do you think? Why else would I come all the way to Johto?"
Gulp—
Matori swallowed hard.
This Marauder... had accidentally captured the son Giovanni had been desperately searching for?!
"Did you find him?"
"He ran off. No way to track him down now."
"Does he know who tried to catch him?"
"What do you think?"
We're screwed. Matori groaned internally.
After a brief pause, she gritted her teeth. "He's a dead man."
Because of the Marauder's blunder, Silver would now undoubtedly see Team Rocket as an enemy. This would make Giovanni's eventual reunion with his son exponentially harder.
"Which is why..." Johan said slowly, "You need to work harder."
"Work harder?"
"Win that kid over. When I find him, I'll send him to work for you first." Johan grinned.
"Work... for me?"
Matori stiffened, then suddenly turned bright red, even her ears flushing.
"I—I—I'll do my best!"
After hanging up, Johan chuckled again.
Then he turned to look at the Marauder's Pokémon—Scizor, Weavile, and the others.
Aside from his Tyranitar and a few Pokémon he had forcibly captured, his main team was sitting quietly on the ground, looking pitifully at Gengar and the others.
They were happier than anyone that the Marauder had been caught.
Finally, they were free.
But regardless of their circumstances, they had still helped the Marauder commit plenty of crimes, so...
"Clean up the lake. Until it's fully restored, none of you are going anywhere!" Johan ordered sternly.
Scizor, Weavile, and the other Pokémon frantically nodded like pecking birds.
Even the rescued wild Pokémon voluntarily joined in on the cleanup.
"Celebi!"
Celebi clenched its tiny fists with a determined look.
"Ka-kaah!"
Gengar handed it a cup of "Energy Root Tea," and Celebi downed it in one go, determined to do its part to restore the "Lake of Life."
"Celebi (PД`q.)·.'゜"
But three seconds later, it was crying from the bitterness.
Meanwhile...
Charcadet and Rotom were melting the frozen lake.
Oak Jr. worked with Tinkaton and Larvitar to dismantle the Marauder's abandoned machine.
The fuel and oil inside the machine were a major hassle, but as for the metal...
Tinkaton was thrilled.
Say what you will, but the Marauder had a solid stash. The metal used in this machine was top-tier.
Tinkaton happily smashed it into her hammer, while Larvitar took the opportunity to snack on some scraps.
A meal was a meal.
Johan sighed, realizing he had been too cautious earlier.
He had stopped Oak Jr. from charging in—fearing for his safety—but given his strength, he probably could've just punched the machine into oblivion.
By nightfall, more than half of the lake had been purified.
Johan spent the evening making Pokéblocks for the Pokémon who had helped.
Fortunately, the wild Pokémon brought him tons of berries, so he didn't run out of materials—though it was exhausting.
But seeing the Pokémon feasting happily made it all worthwhile.
"Celebi~ Celebi~"
Celebi, fully restored thanks to Johan's Pokéblocks, gleefully played with Larvitar and Gengar.
"Goka!"
Charcadet, acting like a foreman, called out to the wild Pokémon.
"Work starts early tomorrow! Show up on time, and you'll get breakfast!"
Even Gengar, as the "Outlaw Crew" leader, wasn't as good at management as Charcadet.
Later that night...
Exhausted, Oak Jr. quickly fell asleep.
Johan lasted a little longer, but soon dozed off, hugging Ninetales.

"Ka-kaah~~"
Having befriended the wild Pokémon, Gengar couldn't hold back any longer.
"Celebi?"
Noticing Gengar and the others getting ready, Celebi groggily woke up.
It saw Scizor and Weavile appearing out of the shadows.
They were about to set out...
On another Gengar Exploration Team mission!
Got it! Continuing from where I left off:
Scizor and Weavile exchanged a glance.
They had heard about this secret base from the Marauder himself, but they had never been inside.
Now, leading a group of eager troublemakers, they were about to break in.
"Yoji?" Larvitar cautiously spoke up.
"There aren't any enemies inside, right?"
Gengar chuckled and patted Larvitar's head, clenching its fists.
"Ka-kaah!"
Even if there were enemies, all the better! A battle would make things even more exciting!
However, Larvitar's worries turned out to be unnecessary.
The Marauder had completely mobilized his forces for Celebi, only to be captured by Johan. As a result, there was no one left to guard this base.
Click.
Scizor pointed at the entrance, signaling that it was there... but it might be difficult to get inside.
Gengar grinned and wagged a finger.
Breaking and entering? They were professionals at this.
With their combined skills, they had at least ten different ways to get in unnoticed.
Without another word, Gengar vanished into the shadows, phasing straight into the base.
And what a jackpot it was.
Even though this was just one of the Marauder's many secret bases, it was stocked with all kinds of valuables.
Gengar clapped its hands together.
"Ka-kaah!"
No need to hesitate—grab everything!
At that command, the little crew swarmed the base, scooping up whatever they could carry.
Scizor and Weavile glanced at each other again.
How were these guys so experienced at looting?
