Pokemon: Farm Story-Chapter 175 – Kamen Rider Ogerpon, Ready to Strike!
Chapter 175 - 175 – Kamen Rider Ogerpon, Ready to Strike!
The moment Chi-Yu emerged from the flames, it gleefully stretched out its body, letting blazing fire scatter like fireworks. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
It was a celebration—a wild, fiery outburst to mark its long-awaited escape from that damned seal.
To Chi-Yu, that seal had been nothing short of cruel.
It had been able to perceive the outside world—vaguely, but enough to know. Enough to sense Pokémon passing by the edge of the seal's formation day after day. Sometimes, even human Trainers would come to rest nearby.
And all Chi-Yu could do was watch those fools light campfires and cook meals right over its "head."
It could sense them, but the images were blurry and indistinct, just barely giving it a sense of what was happening.
The whole experience had been pure torment.
If it had to put the sensation into human terms, it would be like someone used to watching high-definition flat-screen TVs suddenly being locked in a pitch-black room. The only light? A grainy, black-and-white television from a bygone era—fuzzy and static-filled, like someone had thrown a censorship mosaic over the entire picture.
Too annoying to watch, but too bored to look away.
After venting its pent-up joy for a bit, Chi-Yu turned its gaze toward its "old friend" with visible wariness.
Humans lumped them all together as Treasures of Ruin, but truth be told, their relationship wasn't exactly warm.
After all, they were beings born from negative emotions. What kind of harmony could you possibly expect among them?
Getting along? Not a chance.
The only reason they didn't fight on sight was because no one wanted to be the first one ganged up on.
So no, Chi-Yu wasn't thrilled to see Ting-Lu.
Not for a second did it believe that this guy had come to break the seal out of the kindness of his heart.
It was more willing to believe a meteor would fall from the sky and hit it square on the head than to believe Ting-Lu had done this as a favor.
And so, after a brief moment of silence, Chi-Yu let out a sharp warning.
"Wuuu~"
The ethereal cry echoed—not the high-pitched squeal of a goldfish, but the deep, haunting call of a creature from the ocean depths.
A sound full of menace, a sound that said loud and clear: Get lost, or I'll attack.
Help? Favors? Kindness?
Forget it. At most, it might go easy on him when they fought.
Sure, the matchup wasn't in Chi-Yu's favor—type-wise, it was at a disadvantage. Ting-Lu's insane stamina was also a pain to deal with.
But in a battle, none of that mattered unless you could land a solid hit.
And when it came to toying with this big, slow brute... Chi-Yu had some confidence.
Maybe it was because Ting-Lu always had that giant cauldron stuck on its head, but its brain had never been particularly sharp. At least, not before.
This time, though, faced with Chi-Yu's hostility, Ting-Lu didn't flinch.
Its time living on Natsume's farm had slowly cleansed its mind. The violent urges and destructive impulses that once consumed it had started to fade, giving way to something else—something quieter.
After all, the cauldron it had been born from was forged from countless human negative emotions—not just fear, but greed, desire, wrath... all tangled together.
Of course that would mess with its head.
But that was then.
Now, Ting-Lu felt... calmer. At least, most of the time.
It tilted its massive head upward, gaze rising toward the sky.
Above, Natsume peeked out from the back of the Corviknight and made a subtle gesture.
Go time.
Ting-Lu gave the tiniest nod. Got it.
It straightened its head and slowly turned to face the ever-agitated Chi-Yu.
In the blink of an eye, its crimson eyes were once again filled with fury.
A terrifying sandstorm erupted out of nowhere, swallowing Chi-Yu whole.
From within the swirling chaos, Ting-Lu radiated a wild, primal aura as it charged in.
'The hell, you little punk—acting all high and mighty in front of me?'
'I let you out, and this is how you repay me?!'
Sure, its motives weren't exactly pure, but that didn't stop Ting-Lu from climbing up onto the moral high ground and looking down its nose at the situation.
With a mighty stomp of its forelimb, a web of cracks split across the earth.
Countless chunks of rock burst skyward—some sharpened midair like arrows, hurtling straight toward Chi-Yu.
The rest? They hung unnaturally in the air, defying gravity, then slowly vanished into thin air, as if becoming one with the surrounding elements.
"ROAAAAR!!!"
Dark-type energy exploded outward, carried by a thunderous soundwave.
The omnidirectional sonic assault left Chi-Yu no choice but to take the hit head-on.
The flurry of attacks felt like someone was venting their inner fury.
Didn't someone just say their heart was calm and peaceful now?
Corviknight, soaring in the sky, turned its head back toward Natsume in slight confusion—
Only to get a slap square on its bird face.
"Focus on flying. Eyes forward."
"Everyone who takes their eyes off the road while driving in movies ends up in a wreck."
"Caaarwk!"
But I'm flying, not driving!
"Same thing. Talk back again and you're having lunch with Mew."
Corviknight's face turned pale as it hastily snapped its gaze forward, flying straight and true.
No way was it eating at the same table as that creature.
That thing had no sense of shame whatsoever.
It would probably just levitate Corviknight and pin it to a wall with Psychic, making it watch helplessly as it devoured its Poké Puffs.
As for whether the Poké Puffs were the right flavor for Mew? Mew would just shapeshift into a matching type and gobble them down anyway.
In Natsume's pocket, a pink floral Flabébé-form kitty puffed up her cheeks in outrage.
'How dare you slander my name like that.'
'Corviknight, was it?'
'Just wait until we get back. I'm eating all your snacks.'
"Lower our altitude a bit."
Natsume gave Corviknight's neck a pat and pointed toward the edge of the battlefield where Ting-Lu and Chi-Yu were still going at it.
Corviknight dipped like a diving fighter jet, descending rapidly.
Moments later, it landed smoothly on the ground at the battlefield's edge.
"Alright, everyone, get ready to fight."
Natsume tapped each of the Poké Balls at his waist with a light touch as he spoke quietly.
These modified Poké Balls had one major difference: the Pokémon inside could come and go at will.
Most standard Poké Balls are "locked" by default.
Only the trainer can "unlock" them from the outside to release the Pokémon.
A rare few special Pokémon could break the "lock" with sheer force of will and emerge on their own.
For convenience, Natsume had removed all those "locks" himself.
Don't ask how.
Just blame the all-purpose Mew.
I've been around a long time, Mew would say. Knowing a thing or two about Poké Ball mechanics is totally reasonable, right?
A burst of white light erupted.
Natsume's main team assembled in full.
Persian, Shiny Furret, Gallade, and Ogerpon.
Corviknight, as the airborne ride, and Gardevoir, as support, wouldn't be directly participating this time.
"Same routine—buff up before we go in."
He grabbed the eager Ogerpon, who had already switched into its Cornerstone Mask form, and quickly assigned everyone their roles.
Buff yourselves up first, throw out a few helpful support moves.
Doesn't matter how long they last—even one effective hit could turn the tide.
Persian would go in first as the vanguard. Ogerpon and Shiny Furret were there to support it. Gallade wouldn't rush in immediately but hang back in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
And as for Ting-Lu?
Natsume was treating it like a walking tank this time.
He didn't expect it to actually defeat Chi-Yu on its own.
It was just a slow, heavy-hitting wall—exactly the wrong matchup against a mobile artillery type like Chi-Yu.
It would either get kited to death by hit-and-runs, or both sides would just back off after a drawn-out stalemate.
A swift, clean takedown? Unlikely.
Sure, Natsume had said he was ready to flatten the entire forest if needed.
But that was only this already half-destroyed stretch of woods.
The clash between two Legends would definitely affect more than just this relatively small forest.
Especially against something like Chi-Yu, a Pokémon that practically lived to destroy.
Even the shockwaves of a Legendary clash could ripple out for miles.
(Except for that one dog. The one that barks all day and barely knocks over trees.)
Compared to that, the others were serious disasters.
Licking its paw, Persian gave a slow nod.
Simple mission: take out the fish.
A brawl, huh? Say no more.
Anything else—like chores, helping around the house like Lopunny and the others? Persian couldn't care less.
But a fight?
That, it was built for.
With elegant feline steps, Persian's form shimmered—and vanished entirely from Natsume's view.
For a feline, stealth followed by sudden strike was just instinct. A skill coded into their very bones.
After Persian slipped away, Gallade turned to Natsume and gave a small nod.
Unlike its usual calm demeanor, Gallade's face was tense now.
This was a Legendary, after all.
Some respect was in order.
In Gallade's mind, Natsume was its big boss.
And now the boss had handed it a difficult team assignment.
A little nervousness? Totally natural.
Its form wavered—and disappeared just like Persian.
"Wooma!"
"Furr!"
Ogerpon and Shiny Furret locked eyes—and saw a shared glint of madness.
They'd had a certain... idea in the past.
Never found the right time to use it. But now?
Now seemed perfect.
"What are you two up to?"
Natsume eyed the spark of mischief gleaming in both their eyes.
These two...
They're cooking something up, aren't they?
Just as the thought struck, he saw Ogerpon stretch out its hand.
Thorns sprouted from its palm, curling and weaving together into a thorny club.
Then, with a smooth motion, it nudged its mask into place, mounted the crouched, spring-loaded Furret like a rider about to launch.
"Wooma!"
Kamen Rider Ogerpon—ready for action!
It swung the thorny club with joy.
"Furr?!"
Wait—why Ogerpon as the Kamen Rider? Why not Furret?
Furret protested the naming choice.
"Wooma."
Because you're the ride, duh.
Name one Kamen Rider that is the ride.
Ogerpon's logic was shaky, but its confidence made it sound legit.
"Fur..."
Fair point, actually...
Furret wasn't sure if it made sense, but also couldn't argue.
Shaking its head, it decided not to think about it too hard.
Whenever faced with something it couldn't understand, its usual response was—
Stop thinking.
No thoughts = no stress.
Deal with problems after they show up.
And if it's a problem it can't solve...
Natsume!! Help!!
"Wooma!"
Partner! Let's ride!
"Furr!"
You got it!
With its muscular limbs coiled and ready, Shiny Furret blasted forward like a pink comet skimming the ground.
The speed rivaled that of pro-level racecars.
To the naked human eye, it was practically invisible.
At the battlefield's edge, Persian, poised to ambush, caught a flash of pink zipping past in the corner of its eye.
Followed by a gust of wind.
'What the—what are you two even doing?!'
'Wasn't I the vanguard?!'
Persian's brain blue-screened for a second before sprinting after them.
'Damn it.'
'Why are the weirdos on the farm multiplying?'
'Could it be that this whole "unreliable personality" thing is contagious?'
Persian seriously wondered if it should start considering self-isolation.
It really didn't want to catch that.
Just as it was pondering its life choices, Shiny Furret rocketed forward, streaking across the battlefield like a pink comet, and launched itself straight at Chi-Yu.
Its front paws were wreathed in brown, Fighting-type energy—Brick Break!
Out of all the Fighting-type moves, this was the one Shiny Furret had mastered best. It required almost no wind-up. No matter the situation or condition, as long as it wanted to, it could unleash the move instantly and with full force.
"Mwaah!"
Perched on Shiny Furret's back just a second earlier, Ogerpon (in its Hearthflame Mask form) took advantage of the momentum to leap into the air as well.
Gripping its Thorny Club with both hands, it swung down in a mighty overhead smash, aiming straight for Chi-Yu's head—like it was trying to split a mountain in two.
Ogerpon's exclusive move, Ivy Cudgel, was special in that its type changed depending on the mask it wore.
Now, equipped with the Hearthflame Mask, the whip became Rock-type.
Perfect against Chi-Yu, who was Dark and Fire—double the damage.
"!"
Chi-Yu, currently locked in a fierce tug-of-war with the berserk Ting-Lu, suddenly jolted with surprise.
'What?! That thing had backup?!'
Chi-Yu had considered the possibility that Ting-Lu hadn't come alone. But in its rather simplistic little fish-brain, it had only pictured Ting-Lu arriving alongside the other two—Chien-Pao and Wo-Chien.
So when it had probed earlier and found those two absent, it had let its guard down.
As for the human?
Irrelevant. Deal with Ting-Lu first, then worry about the rest.
But now—Ting-Lu was actually cooperating with a human?!
That... that shook Chi-Yu. Just a little.
And then came the incoming combo of Ogerpon and Shiny Furret, attacking with ferocity.
Chi-Yu instinctively whipped its tail around, conjuring up a burst of flame as it tried to dodge to the side.
But in that instant, a slender silhouette materialized right behind it.
Glowing with a golden light, Gallade's arm-blade raised high—blocking off its escape route.
