Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom-Chapter 395 - 394: Uprooting the Problem
Chapter 395: Chapter 394: Uprooting the Problem
After returning to his room, Cain took out a special Poké Ball.
It was a customized Poké Ball he had purchased specifically from the black market in Saffron City. Designed primarily to enhance comfort inside the Poké Ball, it also increased the bond between the Pokémon and its trainer.
It was similar to a Friend Ball, but not quite on the same level.
This Poké Ball had cost a fortune and was hastily made to Cain's specifications.
"Come out, Mismagius," Cain said as he threw the Poké Ball.

"Misss!" Mismagius floated out, letting out a soft cry. Upon seeing Cain, her eyes lit up, and she quickly drifted toward him.
After spending time together, and influenced by Cain's other Pokémon encouraging her to trust him, the innocent Mismagius already saw Cain as her best friend and partner.
Although Cain couldn't yet fully direct Mismagius in complex battles, he could give her basic instructions to use certain moves.
Cain was confident that with more time together and as his strength grew to a near-Elite level, he would be able to command Mismagius in more intricate fights.
By then, with Mismagius as his trump card, Cain would have the confidence to face Elite-level opponents.
Although Mismagius already possessed the strength of an Elite-level Pokémon, her lack of combat experience made her akin to a newborn Pokémon. She lacked a defined battle rhythm, giving Cain the opportunity to shape her as he wished without having to train her from scratch but still with immense power.
If anyone else knew about this perfect training opportunity, they would undoubtedly try to take it away—even Elite trainers wouldn't hesitate to act.
"If you get bored in the Poké Ball, you can stay in my shadow with Haunter. Just make sure to hide your presence, or you might attract the wrong kind of attention," Cain warned Mismagius.
"Miss~!" Mismagius nodded obediently as she ate the Pokéblocks Cain had prepared.
While staying with Haunter wouldn't increase her bond with Cain as much as being inside the Poké Ball, Haunter, as one of Cain's oldest Pokémon, would foster trust and obedience in Mismagius toward him.
This could even accelerate the time it would take for Cain to fully utilize Mismagius in battle.
Leaving Mismagius in the room, Cain began studying the system's proposal for correcting Torchic's anomalous condition.
First, he needed to address Torchic's internal issues. However, after closely monitoring its interactions with Aron and the other Pokémon, Cain noticed that Torchic was gradually improving its mental state.
Thus, Cain wasn't overly concerned about Torchic's emotional condition.
Regarding its physical state, the system had provided a formula to create special Pokéblocks. With consistent use, these would gradually enhance Torchic's physical condition.
According to the system's analysis, there was a 70% chance that, once Torchic's anomaly was resolved, its overall quality would rise to a higher level.
This probability exceeded Cain's expectations.
If, with a 70% chance, Torchic didn't improve, it would mean its potential was inherently limited, and it would be better to let it grow more peacefully.
However, regardless of everything, Torchic's Speed Boost ability guaranteed a hidden boost to its quality.
This meant that as long as Torchic successfully evolved into Blaziken, its quality would automatically increase.
In addition to Torchic, Aron and the recently added Poliwag also required special Pokéblocks.
For Aron, Cain could adapt the formula he had created for Steven by adding geocentric cleansing milk, further enhancing Aron's talents as a Rock-type.
In the long term, this would make Aron, once evolved into Aggron, an unstoppable beast with unbreakable defenses and devastating attack power—even capable of wielding Dragon-type moves effectively.
Poliwag, as a Water-type Pokémon, was simpler to care for, and adding energy crystals to its Pokéblocks would complete the formula.
Currently, Cain added a small amount of energy crystal powder to all the Pokéblocks he made for his Pokémon. While this didn't enhance their quality, it helped his Pokémon grow faster without any side effects.
Mismagius played cheerfully in the room, entertained even by a simple vase, while Cain crafted the Pokéblocks. Mismagius was considerate enough not to disturb him, creating a harmonious atmosphere for work.
Cain knew that the time he spent each night strengthening his bond with Mismagius would be crucial when the time came for them to fight together—a synergy greater than the sum of its parts.
As the clock approached 1 a.m., Cain put away the tools and Pokéblocks he had finished.
"Let's go, Mismagius. Do you prefer staying in the Poké Ball or accompanying Haunter in my shadow?" Cain asked with a smile.
"Miss~!" Mismagius quickly responded, vanishing into Cain's shadow to play with Haunter.
Smiling with satisfaction, Cain noted how his relationship with Mismagius was growing stronger day by day.
Cain donned a black hooded cloak.
At this moment, it didn't matter whether he was part of Team Rocket or the League; it was best not to reveal any of his identities to avoid unnecessary attention.
He called out Honchkrow and Sneasel.
For this mission, they were the most suitable.
In the meeting room, Alec and the others were already prepared.
They all wore black stealth suits, some with hoods and others with black masks to obscure their identities.
"Remember, tonight's goal is to completely eradicate the Black Serpent Gang. Only those deemed useful should be captured—the rest... eliminate them," Cain said coldly from the shadows of his hood.
"Yes!"
Everyone who had emerged from Judgment Island carried a murderous aura with them.
