Plunder-Chapter 68 - Stay Away from Qiao En
Chapter 68: Chapter 68: Stay Away from Qiao En
Chapter 68 -68: Stay Away from Qiao En
Zhou Jin’an’s right hand transformed into a palm, enclosing Ding Hao’s fist that was about to smash into him.
“Stay away from Qiao En.”
Fury blazed in Zhou Jin’an’s eyes.
The two men confronted each other, neither willing to yield.
Ding Hao tried to break free, exerting a lot of effort, but failed to do so.
“Qiao En is my girlfriend, I’ll get as close to her as I damn well please.”
He cursed loudly.
But the next second, Zhou Jin’an responded with a backhanded slap that twisted Ding Hao’s mouth.
“Dream on!”
Ding Hao yelled furiously, unable to gain the upper hand with his hands, but his legs were relentless.
Each move and kick were met with Zhou Jin’an’s counterattack.
After a few rounds, Ding Hao’s arms were twisted back by Zhou Jin’an, his body pinned against the wall, unable to move a muscle.
But he still wouldn’t concede defeat with his mouth.
“I insist!”
He stubbornly yelled, stretching his neck.
In this fight, he was no match for Zhou Jin’an at all.
Qiao En stood just outside the doorway of the utility room. She had intended to break up the fight, but coincidentally, a phone call came through.
“Okay, I’ll come to you now.”
She hung up the phone, set down the washbasin, and hurried off.
As soon as she left, Ding Hao went berserk.
He struggled and resisted, but to no avail.
So, he gathered all his strength and rammed his head against Zhou Jin’an’s.
Harming the enemy a thousand, self-harming eight hundred.
To inflict pain on Zhou Jin’an, he didn’t care about his own safety at all.
A dull thud resounded, and Ding Hao’s back of the head crashed fiercely on Zhou Jin’an’s brow bone.
Blood streamed incessantly down the back of his neck.
Ding Hao laughed, his laugh sinister.
Zhou Jin’an’s right eye swelled up, turning purplish, almost unable to open.
Furious, he swept Ding Hao off his feet, throwing him to the ground.
“If you dare harass Qiao En again, I’ll make sure the Ding Family goes up in smoke.”
Zhou Jin’an left these words, his eye resembling that of a panda, and walked out.
The café.
Qiao En stood at the entrance looking for someone and quickly located her target.
The person was a thin man in a trench coat, not tall, wearing a hat and sunglasses, sitting in the corner of the café.
As Qiao En approached him, he stood up, extending a hand wrapped in leather gloves.
“Secretary Qiao, long time no see!”
They exchanged brief pleasantries.
Qiao En got straight to the point.
“Detective Wu, have you found anything about what I asked you to investigate?”
The night she came out of the police station, Qiao En had contacted a private investigator.
When she was in Nanchen, if she encountered situations where it was inconvenient to show herself, she would ask the private detective to find out information in advance.
She had previously collaborated with Detective Wu, who was very cautious and reliable.
Detective Wu nodded slightly and pulled an envelope from the inside pocket of his trench coat, handing it to Qiao En.
“As you suspected, the video was swapped, but I did find some clues.”
The envelope contained several surveillance video screenshots, which Qiao En examined one by one.
The images were a bit blurry, but strangely, she saw her own figure on them.
The same body shape, the same checked long skirt, even the ponytail tied up was exactly the same.
“This person isn’t me, I’ve never been to Omeiga.”
Qiao En denied.
Detective Wu shrugged his shoulders, giving Qiao En a deep look.
“Unfortunately, I enhanced the clarity of the images, and that person indeed looks exactly like you. Such a degree of similarity can’t be achieved with makeup.”
“Could it be that there’s a problem with this video? Isn’t there a kind of editing technique called ‘image extraction’? Maybe it could be done through technical means?”
Qiao En furrowed her brows as she raised the question.
“Not likely.”
Detective Wu immediately dismissed Qiao En’s speculation.
He pulled his hat brim down a bit more and cautioned, “Secretary Qiao, you’d better be careful. If that person isn’t really you, then there must be someone who looks exactly like you. You’d better find her quickly; otherwise, you’re in big trouble.”
Having said that, he bid farewell to Qiao En and hurried away.
After Detective Wu left, Qiao En’s heart wouldn’t calm down.
The situation was far more complicated than she had imagined. Those people had stolen her phone, imitated her manner of speaking to message Mrs. Zhou, and by finding Huahua, she had found the truth.
Yet, they had found someone who looked exactly like her, fabricating evidence of her presence.
Who was this woman who looked exactly like her?
Where was she?
Why would she do this?
In Qiao En’s mind, question marks kept flooding out continuously.
She forced herself to calm down, but she simply couldn’t.
An invisible dark hand seemed to be right in front of her, always ready to clasp her throat in a deadly grip.
“Secretary Qiao, what are you doing here?”
While Qiao En was still dazed, Chen Yin suddenly appeared.
She looked at Qiao En, a look of surprise on her face.
“Secretary Chen, long time no see.”
Qiao En greeted Chen Yin indifferently as she stood up.
Chen Yin was holding a stack of documents in her arms, and Qiao En noticed that they were marked ‘Urgent.’
She had planned to buy coffee but had given up on the idea at the last moment.
“Secretary Qiao, did you go to Nanchen today?”
Chen Yin followed Qiao En’s steps toward the hospital, unable to hold back her curiosity, she asked impulsively.
“No, why?”
Chen Yin’s heart skipped a beat because, just earlier, she had definitely seen Qiao En in the company’s lobby.
She was wearing this beige long dress, leaning on the sofa in the reception area making a phone call.
Chen Yin had acknowledged her, but she hadn’t responded.
Anxious to deliver the documents to Director Zhou at the hospital, Chen Yin had rushed over.
Yet, she hadn’t expected that, just after arriving here, Qiao En would be there even before her.
“No… it’s nothing, perhaps I mistook someone else.”
Chen Yin lowered her voice. Qiao En heard the first part, but didn’t catch the last bit.
The two entered the hospital together.
Qiao En headed straight for the inpatient building, while Chen Yin headed toward the emergency room.
“Director Zhou should be on the twenty-fifth floor of this building.”
Qiao En added after a moment’s thought.
Director Zhou was a devoted son. His mother had been unconscious for a while, and he was anxious, coming here whenever he had the chance to stay with her.
Chen Yin nodded and said, “Director Zhou is in the emergency room; he got injured. These documents are very urgent and need his signature.”
Qiao En hadn’t seen the end of the scuffle between Director Zhou and Ding Hao, so she didn’t know about Director Zhou’s injury.
“Is that so?”
Her eyes deepened involuntarily.

Chen Yin was one of the closest people to Director Zhou at work and had to keep Director Zhou’s actions confidential from the outside.
But just now, she seemed to have said too much, as if probing.
Qiao En was a cautious person.
She gave Chen Yin a naïve smile and playfully said, “Director Zhou really doesn’t take good care of himself. Secretary Chen, you better hurry over. Director Zhou has a bad temper; he’ll definitely scold someone if you’re late.”
She didn’t inquire about Director Zhou’s condition, not a single word.
As a result, Chen Yin felt that Qiao En was quite cold and heartless.
But this kind of coldness was reassuring and comforting.
“Then I’ll be going first.”
Chen Yin nodded and quickly left.
Qiao En was also about to leave but was then called out by An Kexin.
