Please Let Me Go, My Contracted Ex-Husband.-Chapter 154 - - Do not save him!
Chapter 154 - 154- Do not save him!
Before Cynthia could respond, she heard Robin's laughter from outside, laced with a hint of flattery.
"Ah, Vice President, you're here!"
Then, she heard his pleasant voice, calm and distant, yet subtly detached.
"Mr. Robin, long time no see!"
Her hand trembled, almost dropping the phone. She heard him continue.
"Please wait a moment, I'll prepare a bit!"
"Alright!"
Robin responded repeatedly.
Cynthia gripped her heart, waiting for his footsteps to fade away. She quickly rushed out and found Robin's lounge, urgently telling him:
"Uncle, I won't come in while you're meeting your guest. After all, you're discussing business secrets, and it's not appropriate for me to overhear. I'll stay outside. If you feel unwell, just call me; this is my number."
Robin thought her reasoning made sense and agreed. Cynthia wiped the sweat from her forehead and let out a long sigh of relief. She hoped their meeting would go smoothly so she wouldn't be caught.
Sigh! If worse comes to worst and she was found out, she'd just own up to it. At worst, she'd get yelled at. She had been planning to confess to him eventually anyway.
Robin went off to play golf with Albert Wilson, and Cynthia hid in the lounge, peeking out the window. She watched his tall, straight back, occasionally seeing him turn and laugh with Robin. The more she watched, the more handsome he seemed.
Because Robin wasn't feeling well, they only played for a short while before returning. As they walked back, Robin subtly studied the young man's expression. Having lived so many years, this was the first time he had ever spoken so humbly to someone so young.
"Albert, do you think BGIG might be willing to allocate some funds for the Laurence family this time?"
This time, the Laurence family was on the brink of collapse, shaken by an unknown company. Without an immediate injection of funds, they would likely have to file for bankruptcy. The Four Seas Gang had already lost several key business deals and had no funding sources left.
He had initially planned to raise funds with his old partner, but William S. Lancaster, now full of pride, had cut off all relations with him ever since Albert Wilson, such an outstanding son-in-law, entered the picture.
As for Karl, he had heard that things were getting tense on his side. People from the provincial government were sent to investigate him, and he couldn't move any of his funds. With no way out, he had no choice but to turn to the most prestigious investment institution, BGIG.
Albert Wilson's gaze slid with a hint of mockery before disappearing beneath the surface. He turned back to Robin, still with a faint smile on his face.
" don't worry. Let's take a break first, then we'll discuss this."
Robin was anxious but couldn't do much. As an elder, he couldn't just relentlessly pursue a younger man. However, once they reached the lounge, they had some tea and rested, but Albert didn't seem eager to start the discussion. He sat there, quietly fiddling with the ring on his ring finger.
Robin, ever the perceptive man, immediately sensed that Albert Wilson was toying with him. Having been in both the black and white worlds for so many years, he, Robin, was now being played by a young man. His chest tightened with frustration.
But the current situation didn't allow him to worry about his dignity. So, he forced himself to remain patient and spoke.
"Albert..."
Finally, Albert Wilson lifted his gaze from the ring to Robin. A charming smile spread across his handsome face as he slowly spoke.
"Mr. Robin, what if I told you... that I want you to kneel down and beg me before I'll help you?"
His tone was filled with an arrogant, unshakable pride, coupled with cold sarcasm and a deep sense of killing intent.
"What did you say?"
Robin's face changed instantly. His eyes widened in disbelief, as if he couldn't believe the man who had been so polite just a moment ago would say such humiliating words to him.
Albert Wilson's smile grew even brighter in response to Robin's expression. He leaned lazily in his chair and sighed.
"Actually... the Laurence family business and the Four Seas Gang's deals were all orchestrated by me."
"No!"

"You, you, you..."
Albert Wilson's words struck Robin like a heavy hammer, further shocking him. He trembled as he reached out a hand, pointing at Albert but unable to say a word.
Albert Wilson suddenly stood up, releasing a chilling aura as he looked down at Robin, whose face had turned ashen, his eyes full of dread.
"How was your time at the Poppy Manor in the Golden Triangle? Did you enjoy the years you spent there?"
Robin could only take in shallow breaths, his right hand pressing hard against his chest. His face turned a deep shade of purple.
"You... you are..."
After eliminating Terry Wilson, Robin had quickly taken over his Poppy Manor, but not long after, he was driven out by a mysterious force.
Albert Wilson's smile remained faint, but his words were full of sinister intent.
"You guessed it right. I'm Terry Wilson's son. I've come to take your life."
Robin gasped desperately, pulling out the medicine from his pocket, intending to put it in his mouth. This was the medication that Bonnie's doctor friend had given her to bring to him yesterday. It had been effective, so he had brought some with him today.
However, unexpectedly, a hand suddenly reached out in front of him. His trembling fingers were already unable to hold the bottle properly, and with just a light touch from the slender hand, the bottle rolled and fell to the ground with a loud clink. In an instant, Robin looked up in terror and despair at the young man before him. He... really wanted him dead!
Albert Wilson slowly retreated back into his chair, his expression lazy and at ease, his gaze fixed on Robin, whose face was contorted in pain, gasping heavily.
"Mr. Robin, you can rest easy. I'll make a call to the police soon, saying that Mr. Robin died from a sudden heart attack. What do you think? Does that sound good?"
In the midst of his despair, Robin suddenly thought of the young doctor outside. Struggling, he reached out and desperately pressed the shortcut button on the phone sitting on the table, before his strength gave out and he collapsed back into the chair.
Outside, Cynthia was pressed against the door, listening for any sound from inside. However, the soundproofing in the rest area was so good that she couldn't hear anything at all. Half the day had passed and Robin hadn't called, so she assumed their conversation was going smoothly.
Just as she was about to withdraw, her phone rang. She glanced at it and was startled, immediately pushing open the door and rushing in. Inside, she saw Robin, his face flushed, gasping for breath, while Albert Wilson sat calmly in the chair across from him, coldly observing.
As soon as someone rushed in, Albert Wilson turned to face her, his gaze sharp and filled with malice. Their eyes met, and Albert Wilson's eyes narrowed with a murderous intent, a sense of familiarity washing over him, even though she was almost entirely covered, leaving only her two lively eyes visible.
Cynthia, though feeling the weight of his gaze, focused on saving Robin. Ignoring Albert Wilson, she rushed forward, pulling out the medicine in her hand and attempting to feed it to Robin. Suddenly, a sharp command came from behind her.
"Stop!"
Her body froze, a flash of unease crossing her eyes. Fortunately, she was facing away from him, and he seemed not to have noticed. He coldly ordered,
"Do not save him!"
