Chapter 125 - 125- target

If not for the fact that this guy was Albert's friend, Cynthia would have already shown him some attitude. She shot Klutz an annoyed glare and said,

"Sorry, I have things to do. I'm leaving!"

She'd already experienced what Albert's friends were like at the wedding. Geraint was as cold as ice, Klutz as cunning as a fox, and Carbles—well, he was as sharp-tongued as they came.

Klutz panicked and quickly called after her,

"Hey, hey, Cynthia, don't go! You're already at the door. Why not go in and check on my buddy Albert?"

Yeah, right. He had a sharp instinct, and he could tell there was definitely something going on between Cynthia and Albert. There was no way he'd miss out on this drama. He'd love to see the ever-calm and collected JC lose his cool over a woman.

Cynthia ignored his shouting and turned to leave, but Klutz wasn't giving up. He got out of the car and dashed over, his tall figure blocking her way. His grin grew even more mischievous.

"If you're busy, just go ahead, Cynthia. I'll take this lunchbox to Albert for you!"

Before she could react, he snatched the lunchbox right out of her hands.

"Hey! Klutz, what are you doing? Give it back!"

Of course, Klutz had no intention of handing it back. They tugged and wrestled over the lunchbox, and just as the situation reached a stalemate, a low voice sounded behind them.

"Klutz, you really never change, huh? You're even flirting with a beauty here?"

A deep blue car rolled to a stop, and Carbles slowly lowered the window, smirking as he teased the two locked in their struggle. Cynthia's face flushed with embarrassment, but Klutz remained completely unfazed.

Carbles, clearly taken aback by what he saw, narrowed his eyes. After all, none of them had seen Cynthia without makeup before. He removed his sunglasses and leaned out of the driver's seat, openly studying her, making Cynthia feel even more awkward.

Taking advantage of the distraction, Klutz quickly grabbed the lunchbox and jumped back into his car.

"Carbles, keep Cynthia company! I'll go deliver the lunch to Albert!"

As Klutz's luxurious sports car vanished into the distance, Cynthia stomped her foot furiously. Carbles' voice chimed in at just the right moment:

"Cynthia, if you want that lunchbox back, you can hop in my car and chase him down!"

Cynthia clenched her fists so tightly she almost coughed up blood. Get in his car to chase after Klutz? Wouldn't that just mean delivering herself straight to Albert's doorstep? Trust Carbles to have such a sharp tongue—his suggestion was as infuriating as ever.

She shot him a fierce glare before turning sharply on her heel and storming off. Behind her, Carbles' smirk deepened into a satisfied grin as he started his engine and drove away.

Because Cynthia was too absorbed in her anger, walking briskly like a gust of wind, she didn't notice that not long after Carbles' car left, a sleek black luxury car sped past.

Sitting in the back seat was Geraint, who had caught a glimpse of Klutz and Carbles seemingly entangled with a girl from a distance. Out of curiosity, he turned his gaze and took a closer look at her. However, because Cynthia was walking too quickly, he didn't get a clear view of her face—he only noted that she seemed rather delicate and graceful.

Albert's Mansion

After meeting in the parking lot, three sharply dressed men with different temperaments walked side by side toward the house. When they saw Lucca, who was keeping watch by Albert Wilson's bedside, the three exchanged glances and immediately understood why Cynthia had turned back halfway. She must have seen that Lucca was here.

It wasn't hard to understand. Who would want to come when another woman was already attending to her husband? Coming over would only make her humiliate herself.

Seeing the three of them arrive, Lucca stood up, greeted them politely, and left with grace. As a well-bred young lady, she naturally understood that this was the time when a woman should tactfully excuse herself.

"What are you three doing? The moment you walked in, all I see is you exchanging looks!"

Lying in the large bed, Albert Wilson was already in a foul mood because a certain little woman hadn't shown up. He immediately vented his anger on the three men.

"Albert, you're this mad so early in the morning? Watch out, or your lungs might burst from all the anger!"

Carbles sat himself comfortably on the sofa in the room and teased Albert in a good mood.

Albert Wilson's face darkened instantly. Knowing he couldn't win against Carbles' sharp tongue, he shifted his anger to Klutz, who had been quietly fiddling with a lunchbox ever since he entered.

"Klutz, don't tell me you brought that thing to see me?"

"I ran into a beauty at the door just now. Seeing how handsome I am, she insisted on giving me a lovingly prepared lunchbox!"

As Klutz spoke, he opened the lunchbox, and the tempting aroma of curry rice immediately filled the bedroom.

Even though he had only tasted it once or twice, he remembered it clearly, as though it were carved into his memory. It was the flavor she alone could make!

But how could her bento end up with Klutz? Where was she? Albert Wilson could no longer maintain his composure. His teeth clenched as he glared at the grinning Klutz, who looked as happy as a blooming flower.

"Klutz—"

"Alright, alright!"

Seeing that his goal had been achieved, Klutz handed the lunchbox over to Albert Wilson.

"I ran into Cynthia at the door just now, but she left right after!"

"Why?"

Albert Wilson furrowed his brows, and Klutz gestured with his chin toward the door.

"What else could it be? Haven't you heard the saying, 'Two tigers can't live on the same mountain'? Cynthia probably saw Lucca was here too!"

"Alright, let's get down to business!"

Geraint, who had been silent up until now, spoke with a calm, commanding tone. A hint of ruthless determination flashed across his stern face.

"Have you found out who did this?"

Albert Wilson set the lunchbox aside, his expression turning serious.

"Jim said it's highly likely the Laurence family. After the last plan failed, Robin Laurence, that fox, must have investigated it thoroughly!"

Geraint narrowed his eyes and thought for a long moment before lifting his gaze to Albert.

"When are you going to implement your plan?"

They all understood his plan: first, eliminate the Lancaster family, then destroy the Danny family, and finally take down the Laurence family. Despite the fact that the Lancaster family was almost within reach, he hesitated to make his move, choosing instead to strike at the most difficult target—the Laurence family.
