Chapter 956: Showdown

"The world within the Void of Chaos might have been wondrous... but boredom was its main theme."

Li Pin withdrew his hand.

God Huang Sha, whose innermost secrets had been forcibly seized, had his soul shattered, lost his breath, and plummeted down.

This scene shocked Sky and Farma, the two mid-ranked deities who had followed God Huang Sha with the intention to strike. They retreated at top speed in terror.

However, Li Pin paid them no mind, continuing instead to digest the information hidden deep within God Huang Sha's inner spirit.

Although God Huang Sha was not considered top-notch among the upper-tier gods, for countless ages, the King of Empyrean, the King of Gods, the Supreme God they worshiped, had waged wars beyond their realm against other universes and Liberators.

Although most of their foes were primitive universes without the protection of Liberators, fighting time and again greatly expanded this upper-tier deity's knowledge, granting him understanding of the laws within the Void of Chaos.

Now that Li Pin had acquired his knowledge, he had finally moved past his stage of complete ignorance about the Void of Chaos.

"In the Void of Chaos, the most common paths are Creation lifeforms and Chaos lifeforms. Among them, Creation lifeforms are more commonly seen than Chaos lifeforms..."

Li Pin paused.

That was because... what God Huang Sha considered common was exceedingly rare to Li Pin.

He did not know how long the King of Empyrean had lived, but the lifespan of this upper-tier deity was likely measured in tens of thousands of epochs. And in his existence spanning over ten thousand epochs, the number of Liberators—or rather, Creation lifeforms—that he had encountered was only two.

So, could that truly be considered "common"?

"In over ten thousand epochs, he had only ever witnessed two Creation lifeforms, and that's with this King of Empyrean constantly wandering the Void of Chaos. If he had stayed in his stronghold... whether he could ever meet even one peer would be entirely uncertain..."

Li Pin thought of the starry cosmos.

It was no wonder no outsiders had descended upon it across so many epochs. In such an environment as the Void of Chaos, the chances of encountering a wandering Liberator were far too low.

"No, calling them Liberators won't do anymore. Among the two prevalent paths in the Void of Chaos... I am considered a Creation lifeform."

As Li Pin spoke, he lifted his gaze toward the King of Empyrean, whose structure was composed of countless planes.

He was considered a Chaos lifeform.

Creation lifeforms and Chaos lifeforms each had their strengths and weaknesses.

Creation lifeforms concentrated their energy in their most vital core, namely the Universe Heart, which Li Pin had comprehended only recently and was currently constructing. This allowed them to master their own core quickly, enabling easier movement and release of power.

Chaos lifeforms, on the other hand, expanded themselves by endlessly replicating and pasting their body structure through planes, thereby making their mass unimaginably vast.

The cost was reduced control over themselves, making them weaker in mobility and offensive capability.

"These two paths each have their advantages and flaws. It is merely a matter of choice," mused Li Pin.

"As for this so-called King of Empyrean...."

God Huang Sha's understanding of the King of Empyrean was clearly incorrect.

In his mind, the great King of Gods was the most powerful existence in the world. Under the leadership of this existence, no one could stand against them.

Such fanatical notions held little value as a reference.

Li Pin could only make deductions based on his own understanding of the King of Gods. This Chaos lifeform was likely stronger than ordinary Chaos lifeforms. Otherwise, it would have been impossible for him to suppress Li Pin with such unimpressive offensive strength.

After all, although Li Pin was a Creation lifeform, even they needed time to grow their mass.

For him to reach the extreme limit of what he could control only a little over a century after becoming a Creation lifeform... was impossible under normal circumstances. His sublimation toward Eternity had saved him countless years of accumulation, compared to an ordinary Creation lifeform.

In a sense, he had already achieved perfection in Creation. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"For him to overpower me in the area where he should be deficient, the King of Gods has to either be at the peak of a Chaos lifeform, or he has already surpassed this tier entirely, stepping into an even higher existence..."

Li Pin gazed into this utterly different world structure.

Compared to that unfathomable Eternal, at least the manner in which this King of Gods circulated his power and released attacks was still comprehensible to him. At the same time, Li Pin also knew how to destroy it.

Li Pin pondered.

Even if the King of God's realm is higher than mine, he is likely only a small tier above. He has not yet achieved Eternity. Perhaps he is a Demi-Eternal?

Though not at the Eternity Realm, his opponent was still extremely troublesome.

Chaos lifeforms were almost impossible to kill due to the uniqueness of their structure.

Their method of battle was simple and direct: they would first probe whether an opponent could slay them. If the opponent couldn't threaten them, they would entangle and close in, then swallow them whole.

Yes, they'd rely on their staggering advantage in mass to swallow the enemy in one gulp.

After swallowing them, no matter how the opponent resisted, they would wear them down with superior vitality and recovery, eventually exhausting and digesting them completely.

And in his earlier clash with the King of Gods, Li Pin had clearly revealed his shortcomings.

Now, the King of Gods' true body was swiftly closing in on Li Pin. It was clear that he believed himself capable of forcibly devouring Li Pin.

"I had optimized my structural form, and with the distance between us still great, if I chose to flee into the Void of Chaos now, I could avoid being devoured by the King of Gods. But if I do so, the starry cosmos would inevitably be exposed to his gaze..."

Once exposed... the starry cosmos being devoured by the King of Gods would be the only outcome.

It was, after all, the universe where he had cultivated and lived for hundreds of years. If it were swallowed just like that, it would be too great a pity.

Moreover, he, Li Pin, never had the habit of retreat or escape.

Li Pin's eyes glimmered. "It's not like he is an Eternal, an opponent I can't even comprehend. A Demi-Eternal merely has more mass and an astonishing recovery."

At present, he might not be able to defeat the terrifying existence that was the King of Gods. But the wars between Creation lifeforms and Liberators had never been battles decided in mere moments. Even if he were swallowed, the King of Gods would need eight to ten epochs to digest him.

Li Pin refused to believe he would not be able to make further breakthroughs in his cultivation realm within eight to ten epochs, to find his path, and achieve true Eternity.

Buzz, buzz!

At that moment, thousands of beams of flowing light, like rainbows, shot forth from the edges of countless planes.

Each beam of light represented a deity.

The light beams in the lead, in particular, were not weaker than God Huang Sha. Some even shone brighter than him.

Through memory, Li Pin instantly understood these were other deities of the pantheon to which God Huang Sha belonged.

The leader of this pantheon was Divine Emperor Yao Hui, one of the most senior and ancient High Deities.

The planes here were all territories under his dominion.

"The most senior and ancient upper-tier deity.... I hope you can provide me with more information."

Li Pin at once turned into a stream of light, flying straight toward the leading upper-tier deities.

However, Divine Emperor Yao Hui, who had approached aggressively, seemed to receive word from Sky and Farma, the two mid-ranked deities, before reaching Li Pin.

Upon learning that Li Pin had slain God Huang Sha with a method beyond their comprehension, this Divine Emperor froze in his tracks.

His gaze at the approaching Li Pin was filled with wariness.

He knew well that the extraterritorial Heavenly Demons were often divided into two kinds. The first were beings who had lost their homelands, yet could survive in the Void of Chaos, wandering aimlessly. The other were great existences approaching the might of the King of Empyrean, the King of Gods.

They could handle the former easily. But if it were the latter, then even an avatar was a being far beyond them.

With this thought, the Divine Emperor swiftly ordered, "Spread out and seal the planes! Do not let him escape!"

At the same time, he quickly began praying to the great King of Gods, calling for his descent.

His mission had been to search for extraterritorial Heavenly Demons. If he could capture one and offer it to the great Supreme God, all the better. But realizing this demon was not his match, he immediately chose the best option.

Upon his prayer and the invocation of the King of Gods, the Supreme God's divine name, a vast, boundless pressure suddenly descended from the heavens.

Above countless planes, everything suddenly became bright.

It was as if the once calm atmosphere had suddenly turned turbulent, clouds spreading everywhere. And at the deepest point of that storm-filled sky, a dazzling, resplendent light shone brighter and brighter.

In that instant, all the darkness and gloom above were torn apart by brilliance too radiant to look at directly, and a figure bathed entirely in that light manifested.

Upon seeing this figure composed entirely of light, Divine Emperor Yao Hui and all the deities of his pantheon bowed reverently.

"Welcoming the great Supreme God's descent!"

Amid the voices of reverence, a figure bathed entirely in light, the avatar of the King of Gods, fixed his gaze directly on Li Pin.

At once, a pressure almost tangible slammed into him.

Li Pin's expression grew solemn. "So it really is... a lion using full force to strike a rabbit..."

This mighty King of Gods seemed to disregard convention. He had not ordered his subordinates to appear in order—God Kings, God Monarchs, Divine Emperors—so that Li Pin could perfectly experience the cultivation system he had created, and at the same time reveal his methods of power circulation. Instead, he had descended directly as an avatar.

And it was an avatar more solid and powerful than Li Pin's own.

"It's over."

Li Pin understood in his heart that the disparity of resources invested in each of their avatars was staggering. There was no way he could take on this opponent.

However, even with such a clear disparity, he still had no intention of giving up.

A blazing battle will surged within Li Pin. His avatar began its final burn, ascending endlessly toward its limit.

"Come! Let me see up close how powerful a Demi-Eternal can be!"

"Hm?"

Just as the fighting intent surged within him and he uttered his declaration of war, that towering figure bathed in light and staring at him suddenly paused.

"A Demi-Eternal!?"
