Pirate Kingship-Chapter 679 - 466: Probability Dice, Golden Deer Joins the Game (6000)
Hightins was busy igniting a civil war when Colonizers from various nations, unable to resist, began to flock to the northern rainforests of Hundred Beasts Paradise on the Southern Continent.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!...
The roar of gunfire and the din of battle shook the heavens.
"Quick, Beast Tamers, command your Flying Tamed Beasts to deploy the Earth Vein Sealing Bolts!"
"Artillery units, bombard the ground! Open fire!"
"Strike up the military band! Musketeer Corps, press forward! Three-rank volley fire!"
"Order of Knights, watch out for Transcendents among the natives! Keep a tight rein on your Demon Monster mounts—anyone daring to break ranks and disrupt our formation will be stripped of their right to battle spoils..."
A month and a half had passed since Pirate King [Ocean Throne] Barbarossa Hailidin spearheaded the first colonial war.
The riches of the Centaur Archipelago evidently could no longer satisfy the greed of the Colonizers.
Island One fell under Hightins' control; Island Two to the Barbary Pirates and their backers, the Star Moon Empire; while the formidable Puppet King Louis and his Kingdom of Castilia claimed Island Three.
Under this three-way standoff, other forces could only sip at the meager leftovers.
Of course, some of the Legendary Adventurers from the first cohort, who had arrived during the late July window, had also considered setting their sights on Island One.
Even with the twenty-year protection period under the Silver Code, if you lacked strength yourself, subsequent threats and intimidation were unavoidable, and troubles would inevitably follow one after another.
It's like land redevelopment: if you refuse to move, the land and its structures might still be yours, but what about roads, water, electricity, and natural gas? If they dig all around you, turning your land into an isolated island, you can only stare helplessly.
But the Phantom Fleet, led by the First-Class Battleship Blue Dragon King and totaling 63 vessels (though mostly Cruisers), dared to confront any power head-on, including the Barbary Pirates.
Here, strength was the only truth. Prince Sorrenberg merely had to make a small display of his power to firmly secure the top position in the whaling grounds.
The only regret was that they were all cursed by Father of the School of Sharks Bonaparte, allowing them to land only once a year.
They could not even personally retrieve the corpses of their wives, much less possess the capability to conquer the Southern Continent.
Hightins' Phantom Fleet might not be able to go ashore, but others would not be so considerate.
After the vanguard forces were bloodily repulsed by the Sun Empire on the West Coast, most nations, companies, and Transcendent organizations turned their focus to the northern parts of the continent.
Pirate King Ocean Throne occupied the former site of the dream city, Luanyun City, and began launching attacks to the south and west.
Under Puppet King Louis' command, Castilia launched its campaign inland from the northwest corner.
Other nations carved out their own corners, slowly expanding their territories; they likely wouldn't share borders for several years.
Among all the forces, the Remit People, who were determined to establish their own nation, worked the hardest.
Countless Gold Sequence magnates—transnational Bankers, directors of large exploration companies, directors of major commercial trade companies, large plantation owners, and major shipowners—formed the 'Monetary Restoration Party' and invested vast sums of capital and immense manpower into the Southern Continent.
Besides their organized elite Remit personnel, they also commanded a large number of slave troops whose personal freedom had been forfeited to Pawnbrokers.
This group of Gold Sequence Transcendents, each of whom had amassed fortunes through lending, possessed per capita equipment even more lavish than that of the People of Castilia.
The landing site they chose was also carefully selected, adjacent to the predetermined Pirate Kingdom of the Barbary Pirates.
This was the promise originally made by Pirate King Ocean Throne, allowing the Remit People to be their neighbors and, in the future... their neighboring nation.
The Pirate Kingdom and the nation of usurers seemed well-matched adversaries. Who knows what entertaining spectacles might unfold between them in the future?
BOOM—!
A Third-tier Totem God, whose original form was a giant anaconda, plummeted to the ground, its blood-rimmed mouth, wider than a doorway, falling silent as it died.
Mikhail, a profiteering merchant from the Golden Palm Trading Company, stepped on the Totem God's head. He raised a thick 'Gospel of Creation' high and shouted,
"Apu, who occupied the Earth Vein node in this valley, is dead! Servant Soldiers, advance! Capture all the Divine Descendants of the Snake God in the tribe and fit them with slave collars! I declare this fertile land, flowing with milk and honey, as the Promised Land given to us Remit People by the Creator! It will become the first town of our new nation!"
The 'Gospel of Creation' was opened to a page where words, as if from the Creator, were written: "I have given unto your descendants a land that is good and spacious, flowing with milk and honey..."
They not only intended to occupy the land but also aimed to use scripture to validate their ancient and legitimate claim, thereby precluding interference from other nations aligned with different Churches.
The multitude of Remit People cheered in unison:
"We thank the Creator for granting us this new homeland flowing with milk and honey, along with countless treasures and slaves!"
"The Creator has commanded all non-Remit people of the world to serve us; each Remit person shall be entitled to 2,800 non-Remit slaves."
"We are grateful for the Creator's mercy!"
In this untamed land overseas, where everyone stood at the same starting line, they no longer concealed their ambitions.
Subsequently, more white-skinned slaves from the Old Continent were driven off the ships to fell trees and build a camp. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Clearly, the noble Remit People would never stoop to labor themselves. The natives, being untamed, could not be put to work. In the early stages, their only option was to use these expensive indentured servants 'imported' from the Old Continent.
Indeed, in this fantastical era of colonization, not all people from the Old Continent could be masters; those destined to be slaves would remain so.
