Phoenix Revenge System-Chapter 116: PRS 17 Liona
The next day, the village of Satarara was in an uproar over Rudi’s arrest by police officers. Since dawn, the sound of police sirens had been waking up residents who were still asleep.
"Mom, what’s going on? Why is it so noisy?" asked a resident as he came out of his house.
"They say there’s been an arrest! At Mr. Rudi’s house!" replied his neighbor with eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"Mr. Rudi? Really? Someone that rich? Why was he arrested?" asked another resident in disbelief.
Not only Rudi and his wife were arrested, but his two children and all his employees were also taken into custody, making the residents curious about what terrible thing the family had done to get involved with the police.
"Oh my God, his children were arrested too! It must be a big case!" whispered one of the mothers to her friend.
"Yes, look, they’re all handcuffed. It’s a pity, but they must have done something wrong," replied another, shaking her head.
Rudi’s house and production site were also sealed with yellow police tape so that no one could enter during the investigation.
"Wow, they even sealed it. That means it’s a serious case," commented one resident, pointing to the yellow tape on the door.
"Don’t go near it, or we’ll get in trouble," warned another resident.
Five hectares of marijuana plants were also completely destroyed, with some of the leaves cut and taken as evidence, while the rest were burned to the ground so they could no longer be planted. Thick smoke billowed from the field, making the residents even more curious.
"What are they burning? Why is there so much?" asked a resident, covering his nose.
"They say it’s marijuana! Mr. Rudi planted marijuana in his garden!" replied another resident in a whisper.
"Marijuana? Oh my God! No wonder he’s been so rich all this time!" exclaimed another resident in surprise.
Liona, who was being carried by Lura and enjoying the excitement, couldn’t help but comment. "Huh, the police were only able to find five hectares here. In fact, in the village of Teno, where his wife lives, there are more than ten hectares of marijuana plants. There’s also a drug processing factory there. If the police can investigate, they can eradicate everything and stop drug trafficking in T district. But how can I tell these people? I can’t talk yet. Sigh, it’s so hard being a baby. When will I grow up so I can contribute to society?" she grumbled to herself with a frown.
Lura, who heard her baby’s grumbling, could only shake her head. "Oh, this child. Always thinking about other people," she muttered softly as she kissed Liona’s head.
Now, she was thinking about how to tell the authorities what Liona had said so that drug trafficking in the villages could be eradicated immediately and not arouse suspicion.
"How should I do it? If I tell them directly, they will definitely be suspicious. But if I don’t say anything, I feel sorry for the victims," Lura muttered to herself as she weighed her options.
After gathering her courage and taking a deep breath, Lura walked forward and approached one of the officers who had just returned from Rudi’s family’s marijuana field, which had just been burned to the ground.
"Officer, sorry to bother you. Can I talk to you for a moment?" Lura said, stopping one of the officers who was walking not far from where she was standing.
"Yes, ma’am, how can I help you? Is there any information you would like to share?" said Rotu, the head of the narcotics unit who was also involved in today’s case, looking at Lura kindly.
"Yes, sir. It’s about the leaves you brought earlier," replied Lura, a little nervously.
"Is it true that these are marijuana leaves, sir?" asked Lura, pointing at the leaves carried by several police officers with a curious look on her face.
"Yes, ma’am. These are marijuana leaves. Why do you ask? Have you seen leaves like these somewhere else?" asked Rotu with a probing gaze as he moved closer.
"Well, sir. If these are the leaves that Mr. Rudi claimed were a superior variety of cassava leaves, I think this plant also grows at his wife’s house in the village of Teno. In fact, she said that the land there is much larger than the one here, about ten hectares more," said Lura, her eyes looking up as if she was thinking hard. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Ten hectares? Are you sure, ma’am?" asked Rotu seriously as he took out his notebook.
"I’m quite sure, sir. I often hear them talking about it," replied Lura firmly.
Aunty Wanti, Rudi’s next-door neighbor, also came forward and confirmed this. "That’s right, Officer! I’ve heard it too! If I’m not mistaken, Katamin also said that she has cassava plants just like the ones in this house. The area is, yes... more than ten hectares. She likes to show off, sir," said Lek Wanti enthusiastically.
"Yes, sir! I also heard her say that during the social gathering!" added another woman in the crowd.
"They really like to show off their wealth, sir. Their house in Teno village is huge, and they even have a cow barn!" exclaimed another resident.
One by one, the residents who had also heard about the wealthy family’s arrogance chimed in, prompting Rotu to immediately dispatch his men to Katamin’s house in Teno village.
"Alright, thank you for the information, ladies. This is very helpful. We will follow up immediately," said Rotu as he quickly jotted down all the information.
"Team one and team two, get ready immediately! We’re leaving for Teno village right now!" Rotu ordered his men firmly.
If marijuana is indeed being grown there, then today’s operation can be considered a huge success because they managed to find a marijuana field and might even be able to arrest the drug dealer they’ve been searching for all this time. It’s highly unlikely that Rudi and his family are only distributing it as a seasoning for snacks; they must have a factory to process it.
"This could be a big case. We have to be careful," Rotu whispered to his deputy.
"Yes, Commander. We are ready to go," replied his deputy while checking the equipment.
After thanking the residents, the narcotics squad members immediately left for Teno village in several operational vehicles, leaving the residents still gathered to gossip.
"Who would have thought that Rudi’s wealth came from selling drugs? All this time, I thought he was just good at business," said one of the residents, shaking his head.
"Yeah, no wonder he got rich so fast. Turns out it was from illegal means!" replied another resident.
"Lucky I never bought his chips. If I had, I might have gotten addicted like the others, even though according to those who bought them, the chips tasted ordinary. But why do they keep buying them?" asked a woman, furrowing her brow.
"That’s it! There must be some weird ingredients mixed in! That’s why people get addicted!" replied her friend confidently.
"Yes, people who want to get rich quick will do anything. Instead of going to a shaman to seek wealth, they sell illegal drugs. This is even worse!" commented another resident.
"I feel sorry for the children. They’re still young and already have to go to prison," said one of the women with concern.
"Yes, but it’s their own fault for following their parents. They should know right from wrong," replied another.
While all the residents were still gossiping enthusiastically, Lura quietly left the crowd after seeing that Liona was fast asleep. After all, they still had to be busy making snacks to sell tomorrow, so they didn’t have time to gossip like the others.
"Come on, Lur, let’s go home. We still have a lot of work to do," said Ati, pulling Lura’s arm.
"Yes. I’m also tired of standing for so long," replied Lura, adjusting Liona’s sling.
"Remember, Lur, whatever business we do, we must be honest and maintain quality. Don’t let yourself be tempted by the devil and fall into the same trap as Rudi and his family. You saw the consequences, didn’t you? Rich but ended up in prison," said Ati seriously as she walked.
"Yes, Aunty, thank you for your advice. I will always remember it. Just pray that my family and I are spared from such bad things. We want to be successful in a lawful way," replied Lura sincerely, nodding her head.
"Yes, I always pray for you. You and Laus are good people, God will surely give you a good path," said Ati patting Lura on the shoulder.
Meanwhile, at the police station, Rudi, his wife, and his child, who had also been arrested on suspicion of being the distributor of drugs produced by his parents and their five friends, were unable to defend themselves as all the evidence pointed to them.
"Sir, all the evidence is complete. They can’t deny it anymore," one of the investigators reported to his superior.
"Good. Continue the investigation. Dig up all the information about their network," ordered his superior.
Rudi stared at Tumi intensely, his eyes red with anger. If only the middle-aged woman hadn’t been careless enough to add textile dye to the food, causing vomiting, then the drugs that had been used as a topping would never have been discovered.
"This is all your fault, Timi! How careless!" Rudi hissed with a voice full of hatred.
"I’m sorry, sir. I didn’t know it was textile dye. I thought it was food coloring," said Timi with a trembling voice and tears streaming down her cheeks.
The more he thought about it, the faster Rudi’s blood pressure rose, causing his head to hurt immediately. His forehead wrinkled and his face turned pale.
"Ouch, my head hurts so much!" Rudi groaned, holding his head.
He really hoped that the officers would not find the marijuana field at his wife’s house and the processing plant there. If they did, it would be the end of him. The punishment would certainly be very severe.
"Oh God, please don’t let them find the one in Teno," he prayed silently, even though he knew the chances were very slim.
It seemed that Rudi’s fears had been proven right. It was not difficult to find the house of the rich and arrogant family. Almost everyone knew them, so the officers immediately executed their plan.
"Sir, that’s the house! The biggest one at the end of the street!" one of the residents pointed to the officers.
"Thank you for the information," said the officer as he continued on his way.
"Wow, this is about thirteen hectares, sir! It’s bigger than the one in Satarara!" said Rotu’s subordinate, his eyes wide with surprise.
"Oh my God, this big? This is a huge operation!" exclaimed Rotu in disbelief.
No sooner had his subordinate finished speaking than two other members arrived breathlessly. "Commander, we found a drug factory next to the cattle shed! It’s huge, sir! We’ve arrested several employees who happened to be inside. We suspect that there are still some who are on their way out, so all members are waiting and ready to ambush them. We also suspect that a dealer will come today to pick up the goods, so we may be able to arrest the leader of the drug dealers in the province in the future!" his men reported enthusiastically.
"Great! This is bigger than we expected! You guys did a great job!" Rotu praised them.
"Yes, sir! We will continue to monitor the situation!" his men replied.
Hearing the report from his subordinates, Rotu ordered them to arrest Katamin’s family in the house quietly so as not to arouse suspicion and cause their prey to escape.
"Be careful. Don’t let anyone get away. This is our big chance," Rotu ordered firmly.
"Yes, sir! We have coordinated with the other teams," replied his deputy.
With solid cooperation and a well-thought-out strategy, the drug trafficking case that had been troubling the community was successfully cracked. Of course, this success made the narcotics unit the focus of media attention because they were considered to have been highly successful in this major operation.
"Mr. Rotu, the reporters are asking for an interview!" reported one of the members.
"Okay, I’ll give a statement later," replied Rotu.
Rudi, his wife, and his family had to be put behind bars because all the evidence was so strong that they could not deny that their wealth was obtained from buying and selling drugs under the guise of a cassava and banana chip factory, which they had been running for three years.
The police also provided information and education to residents on how to distinguish between plants and drugs that are considered dangerous and strictly prohibited in this country because they can damage the body and the future of the younger generation.
"Ladies and gentlemen, if you see any suspicious plants, please report them to us immediately," said the officer during the outreach session.
"Yes, sir. We will be vigilant," replied the residents in unison.
This time, Liona’s contribution to the cause was significant, though she was not fully aware of it. Meanwhile, Liona, unaware that her contribution points had increased significantly, was busy developing new products to sell to her family using materials available around her. She could not continue supplying her family with items from her dimensional space, even though those items would never run out no matter how much she took. but this was not a long-term solution, and her parents had to be able to execute it themselves so they could produce a large quantity that could be marketed in the future.
