Chapter 323: See You In The Next World

Making a small sound with her lips, Marie gave a plush she had been holding to Dora.

" Eh? Are you leaving me with Chubastic?"

"It’s Mr.Chub, Idiora, take him with you, no excuses."

Clutching the toy in one hand and the bag of pebbles in the other, Dora couldn’t help but notice the unusual heaviness of the stuffed animal.

The true strongest attack is the one touching the emotions.

Dora’s body glowed brightly, three years ago, when he left Shining Sword, Marie offered him a gift.

A teddy bear, an insignificant toy for so many people, but an object with the biggest moral value for both of them.

Marie was a puppeteer, and the teddy bear was her first creation.

A bear she infused with magic days after days, to the point of making a little bomb.

She kept it as a trump card, the last thing she would let go, it was what she trusted the most.

But through relationship, she became one in mind with the strange boy, and as he memory, she offered it to him.

Her strongest creation at that time, her link to her past self.

Dora kept the object inside him, in his dimensional room, for those years.

The room was a skill, and the skill was in his soul, so the bear was a tool to reach his very being.

With his power, he guided Marie’s power, the law reached the teddy bear, decomposing its cells, and the other part of the Law targeted Dora’s self, but the order was vague and it was on purpose.

What was Dora? The Sin? The body? The soul? No, the answer was all, everything that was Dora was targeted, including the Dora from another world.

A flash lightened the world, and suddenly, the pressure disappeared.

Every once of energy converged toward the teddy bear and disappeared altogether.

The whole space began to tremble, everything in this world was Dora.

The body in the blast crumbled, without owner, there was no power, with the power being absorbed, their was no resilience.

Dora’s body disappeared in dust in the blast.

The pink clouds of lightning converged to the same spot, sapped with a ferocious speed and instantly erased.

The world ran into the sky, the blast from the attack, the destructive power, everything was a part of Dora and so they suffered the same fate, swirling into a single being emerging from the light, the teddy bear.

Soon, the space began to distort, without its essence, this world was doomed to crumble.

In this theater, the Sin Avatars and Players lost their ability to maintain their form, and so they started to disappear.

This time, there would be no miracle, because it was over.

Solaria struggled to not scream again, Gloria giving her one smile and hugging her, she then opened her arms again, inviting the maids in her embrace.

"I’ve lived a thousand years but you were the most important people I’ve ever met. I’ll see you again in the next world."

Her body shone and turned into thousands of light particles, floating above.

Charybdis watched from above and gave a slight sigh.

"So in the end there was still a little girl in that monster." She turned to light a rose in the sky too.

Hope clinged to Elizabeth in tears, the legend herself unable to contain her tears.

She patted the head of her brother, and smile on the lips.

"Now you’re getting closer to the hero I want to see."

Her body turned into light particles, her last words floating above Hope.

"Can you believe it? It was our first battle together. It was so good, right? Let’s do that a lot in the next world."

Hope watched the light floating into space, his eyes were crying, but his mouth was smiling.

"If I can meet you again, I won’t waste a single day."

Wrath and Ymir began to disappear, looking at each other without knowing what to say.

Both had lost to the Sin the same day, and they had nothing to say anyway.

However the scene in front of them was a better show for them.

Peters, turning into light, hugged Mercy firmly.

"You’ve become a beautiful gal, don’t let anyone walk on you, ok? You’re free, no one can take it from you. I’ll be fine with any man you’ll pick if they can defeat you."

Mercy laughed a little, her head resting against his chest.

"Well tried... But the one I’m into is actually stronger so I take it I have your blessing."

"... What the hell happened between you and him?!"

His body turned into light before he could hear her answer.

She watched the particles flying, with tears in eyes and a bright smile.

"You’ll see in the next world, idiot."

Her body trembled, and she fell in tears, covered by the particles of Ymir and Shaka.

Apophis sighed in relief.

"It took forever but finally.... Finally....fina...."

Her eyes widened, her body freezing.

"What is it, Apo? You’re afraid to die, right? Don’t worry, it won’t be that bad."

Apophis, disintegrating, gave a desperate gaze to Lust and Hecate.

".... The invader was there."

"Hm? Yeah, he was."

".... And you were both there."

"... Yes? We’re here?"

"Oi, big sis, What do you mean?" Hecate, with the body of a child chewed some gum.

".... Why didn’t any of you use Imitator to replicate the true Origin?"

The 3 looked at each other, intrigued.

"Uh.... Apo, the origin is brother Dora, and we have already won..."

"This Dora is the origin of this world! I’m talking about the TRUE ORIGIN!!!! THE NEMESIS OF....Why do you give that power to people who don’t know how to use them...."

She left her body fell, but she disappeared before touching the ground.

"Forget it... I’ll reincarnate in a world far from you all..."

"That won’t happen, Apo, I’m coming with you, and Lust too."

She grabbed the hand of her companion, both disappearing in light.

Hecate rubbed his chin and disappeared too.

On their side, Rhea turned to Freya, Lucca and Giudecca, giving them a rare sight of her smile.

There was no need for words, like she said, they were her shadows, and that was the biggest compliment she ever gave.

"I’ve discussed with my brother about the sequel. I know what’s coming, so I’ll say you one thing to cheer you up."

Her lips moved, and the girls’ eyes widened.

Fenrir closed his eyes, disappearing with his arms crossed.

"In the end we are really pawns of a giant game."

Rhea turned into light and flew above, behind, the Warlords who started to cry raised their head dumbfounded by what they had hear.

Finally on the ground, Candace began to disappear in turn.

She watched all her students crying farther away, with a smile on the lips.

"Oh, that’s reminds me... Hey Iris."

The girl behind watched her through her tears.

"Tell to the people from the academy that I’m really sorry for that, but they’re grown adults, I count on them to rebuild the academy."

She smiled at them, a dazzling smile disappearing in light.

Iris watched the particles flying, then lowered her gaze to the last scene.

In the middle of the area, Dora had the teddy bear in hand, and with the other, he patted Marie’s back.

Lilith and Liliana joined them, the two watching in silence with tears in their eyes.

"... Do You want to come too? I can’t walk anymore so I can’t stand to hug you, do you mind coming closer?"

Lilith gulped, her tears increased as she kneeled and hugged Dora’s left side, Liliana did the same and hugged his right side.

The world around them began to tremble, the space threatened to crumble anytime.

Everyone came closer to Dora, witnessing his state.

His leg had disappeared, his body, unlike the others disappearing in light, was getting transparent.

He had no more presence, only the eye could confirm that he was present.

He smiled at his friends, a smile full of sorrow.

Behind him, Eva, Zury, and Midgard, all three giving a slight nod.

"We don’t have the time for a last chat, if you stay too long, you will die for nothing. I need to send you back now."

Their head down, they walked closer to him and dropped slowly on the ground.

Freya hugged him from a side, Mercy, Iris , and Solaria covered what was left of him.

Hope looked him in the eyes, in tears. His heart was filled with different emotion, sorrow, sadness, but also hate. He hated him, and his feeling could reach Dora, but at this moment.

"..."

Dora smiled and nodded.

His arms lost their warmth, disappearing more and more.

He lowered his head, without his arms, he hugged everyone around him.

"... Go ahead now, you’re making me wish to stop time again."

The sobs increased he couldn’t feel anything, but his body was filled with a gentle warmth.

His body disappeared more and more.

"Everyone, remember the reason why you have to stay alive." Midgard advanced.

"You are the bearers of the will and strength of the Avatars. You’ve seen hell and grew through it, and now that you’ve bloomed, you’re more able than anyone to understand our world and lead it, before we meet again."

She kneeled too, behind Dora.

"Your role is not only to lead the world, but... You’ve seen the whole story, right? You know what happened, if you die, the story will disappear. Don’t worry about us, I’ll keep him company."

One by one, they raised their head. From distance, Zury stick out her tongue playfully with a blink before disappearing into light.

Behind them, a white door was open.

Dora’s head began to disappear too.

"I’m glad to have met you all. I’ll see you again, in a wonderful new world."

He smiled, it was the last thing he had left.

They swallowed their tears and slowly, they forced their bodies to move.

They walked, each step heavier than the previous. There was barely ten meters between them and the door, but it lasted almost a minute until they reached it.

They turned to see Dora’s face for the last time.

The boy, more and more invisible gave a nod, and finally, they crossed the door.

One by one, until only one left.

In front of the door, Marie stopped. Her body was immobile for seconds, and then, she turned away and ran toward Dora.

She kneeled again, her arms embracing Dora in a hug.

Her cries filled the air, under the sweet gaze of the boy.

He lowered his head, and through his invisible arms, his clothes raised to hug her back.

They remained like that for seconds in a dying world.

The door finally closed, but after Marie crossed it.

Midgard and Eva sat alongside Dora, back against back, watching the world cracking.

Dora was barely visible, and the two girls were turning into light.

"So, this time it’s over, no more Twilight of Gods?" Midgard asked.

"Yep... The invader won’t be able to counter that one. It’s over for him."

"But... You’re not dying, right?" Eva lowered her gaze.

"In this state, It would be impossible. The invader is stronger than you could imagine, if I disappear, he will take over and come back. So instead, I’ll use him to bring the world of origin to us."

A tear ran down Eva’s left eye.

"So in the end, you decided to sacrifice yourself... Like this... And you asked them to leave... so they wouldn’t know."

Her body shone and turned into light particles, but instead of flying above, she swirled around Dora.

"This is what it will take to turn this leaf into a black leaf. This is the best was to make them see us, I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t know the outcome. You believe in me, right, Midgard?"

"You’ve used me to too much miracles to not believe in you, stupid boyfriend. You can do it, but I’ll stay here and watch everything, so I’ll know what to do when it will be over."

Dora brought two fingers together, Eva’s light shining brighter.

"I don’t think that you were the lucky number who found me, I believe that we were made to meet each other in this world."

- Law: rebound time every time that Dora’s consciousness will falter.

Dora’s body disappeared, leaving behind the teddy bear. Inside, a silent battle of mind began, in which the invader quickly dominated Dora and erased him, but once it happened, the world reset.

Midgard recovered the object, keeping it gently on her thighs, her body shone, but remained frozen in this state.

Closing her eyes, alone in a world out of time, a tear ran down her cheek.

"Come back soon... I need you with me."
