Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty-Chapter 394 - 355: It Could Be a Trap
When Zhao Rong and his assistant realized something was off, the curly-haired man quickly explained, "You two, please don't get the wrong idea. The mysterious person I'm taking you to is just a cafeteria manager."
When Zhao Rong heard this mysterious figure was just a cafeteria manager, he immediately questioned the man. "I don't believe a mere cafeteria manager could influence the regulations at a women's university."
"Sir, you don't understand," the man explained. "This cafeteria manager isn't just any woman. Inside this university, she can call the wind and summon the rain, practically Turn Stone into Gold..."
Listening to the man's words, Zhao Rong grew more suspicious. His eyes darted around as he asked, "If this woman is as incredible as you say, then why would she be working as a simple cafeteria manager at a women's university?"
Hearing Zhao Rong dismiss the position so completely, the curly-haired man chose his next words carefully. "Her name is Yang Yuhua. She was one of the most outstanding graduates of this university. After graduating, she could have been one of the top leaders, yet she chose to become a humble cafeteria manager..."
"So the cafeteria manager holds some kind of immense power here?" Zhao Rong deduced immediately.
"It's not exactly that she has power," the man replied. "It's just that several past university leaders who couldn't get along with her ended up contracting incurable diseases and dying after eating a few meals in the cafeteria..."
The assistant gasped. "Are you saying Yang Yuhua, the cafeteria manager, poisoned the university leaders?"
The curly-haired man nodded, then shook his head. "Everyone believes she poisoned them, but no one has ever found a shred of evidence. Without proof that she did it, how can anyone convict her?"
"If I took this case," Zhao Rong declared, "I would definitely find the evidence that Yang Yuhua poisoned the university leaders."
Just then, the pitch-black school cafeteria suddenly blazed with light. As Zhao Rong, his assistant, and the curly-haired man were bathed in the sudden brightness, a fashionably dressed woman with an ugly soul emerged from within.
She looked at the three of them with a sinister smile. "Curly-haired man, I heard you were bringing this young gentleman here to find me. And you were going to expose some crime of mine?"
The moment the curly-haired man saw Yang Yuhua, he was so terrified that he lost control of his bladder and bowels. He looked like a mouse that had just seen a cat. He spun around and bolted, shouting, "Never offend Yang Yuhua! Otherwise, you'll die a death uglier than a pig's!"
Seeing him flee, Yang Yuhua narrowed her eyes and whispered, "Escaping my grasp isn't so easy."
She pulled a small remote control from her pocket and lightly pressed a button. Instantly, a manhole cover in front of the fleeing man shot open. Before he could react, he plunged into the sewer below. Yang Yuhua lightly pressed the remote again, and the manhole cover slid shut automatically.
When Zhao Rong and his assistant saw how formidable the cafeteria manager was, a chill ran down their spines. The assistant nudged Zhao Rong with his elbow and whispered, "I have a feeling this Yang Yuhua isn't an ordinary person."
Zhao Rong sized up Yang Yuhua's face and remarked, "The older the ginger, the spicier it is."
It was clear to him that her appearance didn't match her actual age. Though Yang Yuhua dressed young, the crow's feet at the corners of her eyes betrayed her years. He quietly told his assistant, "This woman must have been deeply entrenched in this university for a long time. For all we know, every blade of grass, even every manhole cover, could be rigged with one of her traps."
Listening to Zhao Rong, the assistant looked at the cafeteria manager with a newfound sense of awe and fear.
Seeing that the two men were intimidated by her display of power, Yang Yuhua laughed heartily. "Since you've come all this way, why don't you come inside the cafeteria and have a seat?" With that, she gestured for them to enter.
The assistant hesitated, whispering to Zhao Rong, "Boss, it's so late. What if going into the cafeteria with this vicious woman is a trap? What should we do?"
Zhao Rong thought for a moment, then said confidently, "Don't worry. I'm here."
With that, the two of them followed Yang Yuhua into the school cafeteria. As she led the way, she spoke to the men behind her. "You two have some nerve, daring to break the university's tradition by enrolling as men."
Zhao Rong laughed deliberately. "I was born skeptical. I'd like to see who has the guts to touch me after I break this so-called rule."
The assistant chimed in, "My boss is right! We don't believe in that nonsense. We're going to shatter this university's stupid tradition!"
Hearing their defiant words, Yang Yuhua trembled with rage. She gritted her teeth and hissed, "Anyone who has tried to break that rule has never left this university alive. In fact, they all died in mysterious ways."
Zhao Rong was unfazed by her threat. "In that case, I look forward to my own mysterious death."
The assistant glared back at her defiantly. "Bring it on! Just see if we don't put idiots like you in their place!"
Flushed with anger, Yang Yuhua shoved the door open and strode inside. "Since you're here at the women's university, allow me to treat you to our most famous coffee." She placed two cups of expensive Kopi Luwak in front of them.
The assistant immediately warned, "Boss, don't drink that! Be careful, she might have poisoned it!"
In stark contrast to his assistant's worry, Zhao Rong casually took a sip. "Kopi Luwak. One of the world's most luxurious coffees. Thank you, Manager, for treating us to something so expensive."
Seeing Zhao Rong drink the coffee she had prepared, Yang Yuhua sneered. "My coffee might be exquisite and delicious, but it's very difficult to digest."
Hearing this, the assistant pushed Zhao Rong's arm. "Boss, are you a fool? Didn't you learn as a child never to accept drinks from strangers? Besides, it's obvious this Yang Yuhua is bad news! And you just drank her coffee? You're asking to die!"
With that, the assistant swept his own cup off the table. The coffee splashed onto the floor, and the moment it touched the tiles, they sizzled and corroded into a ruined mess.
When the assistant saw how incredibly toxic the coffee was, he slammed his hand on the table and roared at Yang Yuhua in a fury, "We have no quarrel with you! Why would you try to poison us? You venomous witch! You're a regular black widow!" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Yang Yuhua sneered. "Who told you not to follow the rules? You should have disguised yourselves as women before entering the university." She then turned her gaze to Zhao Rong. "Young man, I know you're skilled in Martial Arts and a bit tough to handle. But you drank my coffee, so you've fallen for my poison. Now, I'll just watch you die before I deal with this useless oaf of an assistant."
When the assistant heard her call him an oaf, he threw a punch. "Damn you! Don't mistake a quiet tiger for a sick cat!"
However, to his astonishment, Yang Yuhua easily dodged his lethal blow. As she did, she countered with a perfect Scorpion Tail Swing, sending him crashing to the marble floor.
After felling the assistant, she looked at Zhao Rong with malicious glee. "Young man, anyone who drinks my Kopi Luwak is guaranteed to die from ruptured intestines within five minutes."
Zhao Rong pulled out his phone, showed her the timer, and said, "My dear lady, it's been over eight minutes since I drank your coffee. How come I still feel perfectly fine?"
Seeing that he was indeed unharmed, Yang Yuhua's eyes widened in shock. "Impossible! My Kopi Luwak is laced with arsenic! I saw you drink the entire cup with my own eyes. How can you be perfectly fine? That's not scientific!"
While she was still reeling in confusion, Zhao Rong deftly plucked a packet of arsenic from her pocket, poured the contents into his mouth, and swallowed it. "This arsenic is actually pretty tasty. I love eating it."
When Yang Yuhua saw him consume the entire packet from her pocket, she stared in disbelief. "Are you out of your mind? That was a whole bag of arsenic, and you ate it like it was sugar? You won't last another thirty seconds!"
Zhao Rong laughed heartily. "Forget thirty seconds. I probably won't die in thirty years."
Seeing that Zhao Rong was completely unharmed after consuming a massive amount of poison, Yang Yuhua collapsed onto the floor, her face a mask of utter shock.
"Damn it," she muttered in disbelief. "Have I run into the legendary Medicine King?"
