Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty-Chapter 287 - 252: Leave this beauty to me to be my leading lady
The Thousand Year Old Demon stared at Zhao Rong with wide eyes. "You want to replicate my elixir? Are you from India?"
Realizing the Thousand Year Old Demon had overheard his whisper to Lili, Zhao Rong said awkwardly, "Damn, Thousand Year Old Demon, are your ears that sharp? I was speaking so quietly. How did you hear me?"
Miss Lili quickly added, "We aren't from India. We're authentic Chinese..."
The Thousand Year Old Demon was utterly unconvinced that Zhao Rong could replicate his elixir. He sneered, "Kid, I don't believe for a second that an Earthling like you could replicate our alien elixir."
Zhao Rong replied humbly, "I know you aliens have extremely developed brains. You're far more intelligent and technologically advanced than we are. But that doesn't mean you're superior to us Earthlings in every single way. Perhaps, in certain aspects, we can even surpass you. I believe God is fair to everyone."
Hearing this, the Thousand Year Old Demon scoffed. "If an Earthling like you can replicate this high-tech elixir in just a few hours, then I swear I'll give you all of my Charge-Through Pills for free."
You Earthlings and your limited intellect, he thought with contempt. Developing a single new medicine costs you billions of US dollars and can take ten years, or even decades. And this kid has the nerve to boast he can create a pill with the same effect as my Charge-Through Pill, right here in front of me? Utterly delusional. A wild fantasy.
Lili, worried, whispered next to him, "Zhao Rong, can you really replicate a pill exactly like the Charge-Through Pill? If you can't, maybe we should call someone from India to come help us copy it..."
I just saw that movie, *Medicine God*, not too long ago, she thought. It seems like the only people on this planet who can copy such effective medicine are from India.
In stark contrast to Lili's anxiety, Zhao Rong was full of confidence. He patted her on the shoulder comfortingly. "Trust me," he said. "I have my ways."
With that, Zhao Rong held out his right hand, palm open, to the Thousand Year Old Demon. "Alright, since you don't believe I can replicate your Charge-Through Pill in a few hours, then lend me one to try, okay?"
While pulling a Charge-Through Pill from his pocket, the Thousand Year Old Demon asked, "And what if you fail? What then?"
Zhao Rong slapped his chest in a gesture of assurance. "If I fail, we'll leave Black Wind Cave immediately."
The Thousand Year Old Demon scoffed at such a meager price for failure. "No. If you fail, you will leave this beauty with me to be my bride."
As he spoke, his lecherous eyes fixated on Lili, who was still just in her underwear. He began to drool, licking his lips.
When Lili heard the demon demand she stay and become his bride, she spun around and gagged. She stared at the creature before her—short, ugly, and wrinkled, with a grotesquely misshapen body. "My God! Be the bride of someone like you? I'd rather die! The very thought of lying in bed with you every night... makes me want to vomit..."
The Thousand Year Old Demon ogled the delectable Lili, rubbing his hands together with a sickening grin. "I just love... little beauties like you. If Zhao Rong fails, you'll stay and keep me company... I'm going to have you... in my bed... and every night, I'll... take good care of you..."
Zhao Rong gasped. He never expected that this demon, who looked deceptively simple and almost cute, could be so vile and twisted on the inside.
But then again, he mused, what happens to a person who has been utterly alone and helpless for a thousand years? To be trapped without hope in a pitch-black cave like Black Mountain Cave... Even the healthiest mind would be warped by the environment, crushed by despair, and twisted into something strange and perverted by countless other factors.
Clearly, the demon wanted Lili so he could unleash all those years of repressed perversion onto a beautiful woman.
And so, Zhao Rong silently swore to himself. No matter what, I have to succeed. Otherwise, the consequences will be unthinkable.
Just then, the Thousand Year Old Demon finally produced the legendary, supposedly inimitable and impossible-to-develop Charge-Through Pill.
When Zhao Rong saw the pill in the demon's hand, he was utterly dumbfounded. He never would have imagined that the Charge-Through Pill he had pictured in his mind—large, round, and brightly colored—was in reality smaller than a grain of millet. It was so tiny you could barely see it without a magnifying glass.
When Lili saw that the so-called Charge-Through Pill was as small as a needle point, she stumbled back three steps and sank onto a stone, her face a mask of despair.
