Chapter 184: Chapter 158: Catching the Car Thief

Zhao Rong had just dashed out of the school when he was stunned by what he saw. The two motorcycle thieves from before had somehow multiplied into more than a dozen. These bikers all sported long beards, sunglasses, and rode Harleys, clad in airtight leather jackets despite the sweltering summer heat.

When Zhao Rong saw such an intimidating lineup, he couldn’t help but gasp.

Damn, it looks like there’s going to be a big fight today.

Despite facing such formidable and ruthless killers, Zhao Rong remained fearless and charged forward valiantly. He broke into a sprint, chasing after the thief at the front who had stolen Wang Meili’s backpack.

As Zhao Rong frantically pursued the biker, the bystanders were stunned. An old woman selling pancakes by the school gate called out worriedly, "Young man, those bikers are no joke! You have to be careful!"

A young man selling popsicles near the gate commented doubtfully, "Those guys are the most vicious gang around here. They don’t just rob people; they kill them. Young guard, you should stop chasing them and just call the police..."

A nearby street vendor selling posters added, "He’s right, kid. I’d turn back if I were you. You could get yourself killed. You’re better off calling the cops." As he spoke, the vendor pulled out his phone and dialed for the police.

Hearing the concerned shouts from the crowd, Zhao Rong yelled back as he ran, "Don’t worry! Today, I’m not just going to catch this gang, I’m going to drag every last one of them to the police station and take out the trash for good!"

Just then, two of the bikers at the rear of the pack saw the lone security guard chasing them. They suddenly swung their motorcycles around to face him. "Well now, young guard," one of them sneered. "You must have a death wish, chasing our gang all by yourself. You have no idea who you’re messing with."

The man on the back of the bike pulled a machete from his belt. "Boss, what are we waiting for? Let’s just run him down! Kill this guard, and I’ll stab him a few more times just to be sure."

With that, the two bikers arrogantly gunned their engine and charged straight for Zhao Rong.

When the passing female students saw the bikers charging at the school’s young guard, they all cried out in alarm. A girl who loved sailor suits and cosplaying anime characters shouted worriedly, "Hey, security guard! Run! You’re no match for them; they’ll run you over!"

Another tall girl, who preferred jeans to skirts, yelled, "Quick, jump the fence and get back inside the school! Otherwise, those two ruthless monsters will kill you for sure!"

Hearing the concerned shouts from the students, Zhao Rong calmly watched the Harley barreling toward him. He quietly pulled a steel rebar from behind his back and, with a swift motion, jammed it into the spokes of the front wheel.

The motorcycle was just inches from hitting Zhao Rong.

"I’m going to knock your guts out, you little punk!" the driver cackled.

The one on the back chimed in with a laugh, "Looks like I won’t even need to use my blade! You’re about to be turned into mincemeat!"

But before they could finish their taunts, the steel rebar Zhao Rong had jammed into the spokes brought the motorcycle to a grinding, instantaneous halt. Inertia flung both bikers from their seats, sending them flying straight into the school’s security fence. This fence was designed to keep students from sneaking out, equipped with not only a high-voltage electric grid but also sharp barbed wire. The driver was instantly electrocuted and scorched black. The passenger was torn to shreds by the barbed wire, leaving not a single patch of his skin intact.

Zhao Rong dusted himself off, pulled the rebar from the Harley’s wheel, and glanced at the two lifeless bikers on the fence. "Still want to run me over?" he remarked coolly. "Looks to me like you two were just trying to commit suicide..."

With that, Zhao Rong continued his pursuit of the lead biker.

When the surrounding young women saw how a mere security guard had effortlessly dispatched two vicious bikers, they all gasped in amazement.

A recently single girl, looking positively ravenous, purred, "Hey, Mr. Security Guard... if you’re not taken, how about being my boyfriend? I promise I’ll make your night..."

Another girl, who had been snacking, was so shocked her food fell from her open mouth. "Mister Security Guard, you’re not just a guard, you’re Superman!"

A heavily made-up college student who worked as a hostess at a nearby parlor stared at Zhao Rong.

This guard... He looks so much like one of my regulars. Am I seeing things? No way... If that client requests me again, I’ll not only give him my best service, but I’ll do it for free.

Although the bikers were fast, Zhao Rong was a Level 22 cultivator. When he broke into a sprint, his speed was easily a match for a Harley-Davidson.

As Zhao Rong ran, a scout from the university’s athletic department happened to be passing by. Spotting Zhao Rong’s incredible speed, the scout stopped dead in his tracks and immediately whipped out his phone to record.

A sprinter with that kind of talent! How has no one discovered him yet? How has he not been properly coached and trained? This is unacceptable. I have to recruit this fleet-footed security guard, no matter the cost!

Just as Zhao Rong was about to catch the lead biker, four more motorcycles suddenly veered around to block his path.

"You’ve got some nerve, kid," the leader of the bikers growled. "Chasing us all the way to Shajing Village?"

Shajing Village was an urban village near Xijing University, a lawless place that was home to a motley crew of both hidden masters and dangerous crooks.

Zhao Rong looked at the gang leader, who was sweating profusely in his leather jacket under the hot summer sun, and couldn’t help but laugh. "Hey, grandpa, aren’t you hot in that?" he jeered. "The sun’s blazing and you’re wearing leather. You’re trying way too hard to look cool."

Zhao Rong’s taunt made the biker leader so furious he could have spat blood. "You little punk!" he roared. "I’ve run things in Xijing City for twenty years! No one has ever dared to insult me, let alone mock me! You’ve got a death wish, and I’m going to grant it!"

With that, the leader signaled. The four Harleys advanced on Zhao Rong from all four directions, intending to run him over.

Seeing the four motorcycles bearing down on him from four different directions, Zhao Rong just chuckled.

I was just wondering how I was going to take you all down. I never expected you to serve yourselves up on a silver platter...
