Chapter 1962: Chapter 1963: What’s the Big Deal? I’m Bound by No Taboos

Su Yixing said, "I also feel like my problem is bigger than yours. At least, my third brother actually likes you, but her? She doesn’t like me at all."

Gong Le pondered and said, "I think the crux of your problem is that she sees you as her master. She has already decided you are her master, so that’s it. In her eyes, your relationship is purely that of a master and servant, nothing else. But if you weren’t her master, maybe there would be a turning point in your relationship."

Su Yixing said, "What, are you suggesting I give her to someone else? No way, not happening. I’d rather keep hanging on with her than give her to someone else."

"You could pretend to give her to someone else first, and then when she starts liking you, you can take her back."

"That’s not gonna work either!" Su Yixing was adamant. "Alright, enough about me. Let’s talk about you and my third brother. You want me to marry you, but if my third brother still hasn’t realized his feelings after being provoked, what, would you really plan to marry me?"

"In your dreams!" Gong Le laughed and cursed. Then, with a darker look in her eyes, she added, "However, if marrying you doesn’t provoke him into realizing his feelings, then I won’t hold out hope that he ever will."

After a pause, she smiled again, "I’ll just cut to the chase and make things happen with him, so even if he doesn’t want to marry me, he’ll have no choice but to."

Su Yixing felt a bit embarrassed, "You, a young lady, shouldn’t casually talk about making things happen like that."

"It’s no big deal," Gong Le didn’t mind at all, "I’m not afraid of anything."

Su Yixing looked up at the sky and said wistfully, "All of a sudden, I feel a bit sorry for my third brother."

Gong Le just found it amusing and didn’t say anything more. But truthfully, if An Yiqing still didn’t realize his feelings for her, she would surely be disappointed and feel upset.

How could anyone be so oblivious to their own feelings?!

After sitting on the rooftop with Gong Le for a while, Su Yixing got up: "I’m heading down. You should come down soon too. It’s really cold up here; don’t catch a cold for real."

After saying that, Su Yixing left the rooftop and headed towards his living quarters.

And there, at the door to his room, stood Huo Qingyi, dutifully keeping watch.

Su Yixing walked over to Huo Qingyi, glanced at her hands, both reddened with chilblains.

"Come inside with me." Su Yixing, with no particular expression or emotional fluctuation, entered the room, indicating for Huo Qingyi to follow.

Once in the room, Su Yixing took out a bottle of chilblain ointment from the cabinet, sat down at the table, and glanced at the stool next to him. Huo Qingyi immediately understood and sat down.

Su Yixing took one of Huo Qingyi’s hands, applied some of the ointment, and started rubbing it in. Huo Qingyi was long accustomed to Su Yixing’s touch, and it wasn’t the first time he’d applied ointment to her chilblains. Despite her curiosity about why her master treated her, a subordinate, so well, she said nothing and obediently let him apply the ointment.

"How was your New Year’s Eve dinner?" Su Yixing suddenly asked.

Huo Qingyi promptly replied, "I had it with the other door persons."

"Was it lively?"

"Very lively."

"So, do you prefer spending New Year’s at my house or in this building?"

"Well..."

"Why are you hesitating, just say it." Su Yixing’s tone seemed a bit displeased.
