Pay With Your Heart-Chapter 400
Chapter 400: Babysit.
As soon as the plane landed, Dan-Han took them to the hotel where he had reservations. ๐ง๐๐ฒ๐we๐noัต๐l.๐o๐ฎ
He observed Eun-sun as she gazed around the hotel lobby in awe. Her eyes glistened like she hadnโt seen anything like it before. She always had that look whenever she went somewhere new, and it stirred up the urge in him to show her the world, take her to all the places she hadnโt been before, and that was something heโd live up to. She was just too easy to please.
โYou like it?โ He asked as she kept snapping her neck around, her eyes darting back and forth in wonderment as she took in whatever she could of the ambiance. What caught Eun-sunโs eyes the most was the fantastic fountain at the heart of the lobby and the artificial waterfall fountain adjacent to it.
She turned to Dan-Han with glistening eyes and eagerly bobbed her head. โItโs beautiful.โ She happily said.
Eun-sun felt another wave of nostalgia hit her as she took in the placeโs ambiance. Being in Dan-Hanโs arms in a beautiful place like this reeled back the unforgettable memories of their beautiful dates in this city weeks ago.
Her eyes twinkled as she lifted her head and kissed his cheeks.
Dan-Han lowered his head and looked at her with amusing eyes, a pleasant smile edging his lips.
.....
โWhat was that for?โ He asked as she lifted her head again and dropped another feathery kiss on his cheek, making him chuckle at her cute little actions.
Eun-sun shrugged non-committally and pursed her lips to hide the shy smile on her face. No matter how hard she tried, Dan-Han still made her feel conscious despite the time theyโve been together, and she couldnโt stop herself from blushing whenever he smiled at her. Maybe it was the feeling of knowing his smile was sacred and exclusive to her and that she was the reason behind every smile on his face. โI couldnโt help it.โ She said with a bashful shake of her head.
Dan-Han couldnโt help but laugh at her pretense of being shy. โYou fake shy girl. Youโre not shy, Eun-sun. So stop acting like you are.โ He teased, and she slightly hit him on his chest while trying to bury her flushed face in his chest.
Ni-Na, who stood by the sidelines, compulsively treated to an unnecessary display of affection, rolled her eyes as she wondered if the Dan-Han before her was the very man who had helped her mother raise with an iron fist. It was unbelievable.
She glared at them and snorted as she trotted towards the elevator, leaving them with the choice to follow behind if they ever decided to close the curtains to their charade of giggles and kisses.
โCome on, letโs go.โ Eun-sun eagerly told him when she saw Ni-Na walking away, and Dan-Han did as he was commanded.
With Eun-sun still in his arms, he tossed the card in his hand towards Ni-Na, and she reflexively caught it.
โYour suite is next to ours, and Iโm sure your bags have been moved there. You can go check it out when I return.โ
โReturn?โ Ni-Na asked with a curious frown as she confusedly stared at Dan-Han. โAre you going somewhere?โ She inquired, but she obtained her answer from the blank look on his face because she knew heโd never give her an answer.
Ni-Na turned fully towards him, her frown running deeper and drawing her brows into a tight knot. โAre you here for business or a vacation?โ She firmly demanded.
Dan-Han threw a side glance at her. โYou should know better than to ask me such questions. Just do as youโre told, Ni-Na. Iโll be back as soon as possible.โ He sternly told her. He was about to say something else when the elevator door chimed on arrival, and he swallowed back whatever it was before stepping out of the elevator.
Ni-Na confusedly glanced at Eun-sun for clarity, and thatโs when she observed the apologetic look she had on her face that confirmed her suspicion that Eun-sun might have withheld some crucial information about this trip.
Ni-Na walked behind Dan-Han as he led them towards his suite, where they found the bellboy already waiting with their luggage.
He bowed to them and held the door open before excusing himself.
Ni-Na bit her lips to stop the urge to pose another question to Dan-Han. She turned to Eun-sun when she heard her asking
โWhen will you be back?โ
Exactly! When will he be back?! Ni-Na roared inside of her.
โBefore dinner.โ He vaguely replied, and Eun-sun nodded. She looked at the watch on her wrist and observed the time. It was barely a few minutes past eleven in the morning.
She deeply heaved. It was just going to be a few hours, and sheโd spend them with Ni-Na.
Dan-Han placed her on the couch and planted himself in front of her knees while his fingers reached for her hair and gently combed through it. โEat lunch and wait for me. Also, take the meds Jae-Hyun gave you. Iโll be back before you know it.โ He softly told her.
Eun-sun could hear the tenderness in his voice, and she knew it was because he was feeling bad for bringing her there only to leave her as soon as they arrived.
Eun-sun flashed him a sweet smile as she trailed her hand along the length of his jaw. โYou donโt have to worry about me. Iโll be here with Ni-Na, and weโll be fine.โ She assured him.
โI wonโt be fine!โ Ni-Na refuted with a sigh.
Dan-Han sighed as he turned towards Ni-Na, who still maintained a grumpy look as she openly glared at him. He turned away and ignored her.
He placed a kiss on Eun-sunโs forehead. โDonโt move about.โ He told her, and she obediently bobbed her head.
He rose to his feet and glanced at Ni-Na again. โDonโt look for trouble.โ He told her and walked away while she snorted after him.
Ni-Na folded her hand across her chest as she intently glared at Eun-Sun.
โWhy are we really here?โ She sternly asked.
โYou mean why are you really here?โ Eun-sun redirected her question with a raise of her brows and a slight smile.
โWhichever way you want to put it,โ Ni-Na replied.
Eun-sun put away her phone on the table beside her and replied. โHe has some business to attend to, so youโre here to babysit me.โ
โBabysit?โ Ni-Na stopped herself from snapping. Babysitting wasnโt the reason why she had agreed to come along. She had thought there were going on-
โWhat happened to having fun?โ She evenly asked. โWeโre still going to have fun, right?โ She curiously inquired.
โIsnโt babysitting fun?โ Eun-sun teased while Ni-Na rolled her eyes.
โFirstly, youโre not a baby. Maybe my brotherโs but not mine. Secondly, youโre a grown woman whoโs supposed to be having fun with me and not rotting away in a hotel room. What happened to shopping and-โ She paused as she tried to put her words together. This sudden news was drying her juices. โT..to shopping and everything exciting.โ She rapped out.
Eun-sun shrugged and lolled back on the couch. โWell, thatโs the extra curriculum youโve been hired for.โ She said, but Ni-Na suspiciously narrowed her brows at her.
โAre you saying-โ
โYour brother agreed you came along because he wants you to keep me company, but I wanted you to come because I thought we could be a bit rebellious, but moderately rebellious.โ She quickly added when she saw the mischievous glint that suddenly glistened in her eyes.
Ni-Na pouted her lips as she tried not to smile too devilishly, but Eun-sun could see the admiration and excitement in her eyes. โMy brother couldnโt have made a better choice. Weโre so having fun, whatever kind this place can provide.โ She half squealed while Eun-sun cautiously smiled.
Whenever Ni-Na zapped into her happy mood, she became a different person who made her nervous, but she liked her anyway.
Away from there, Dan-Han answered his phone the moment he stepped into the car.
โDo you have it?โ He asked.
โYes.โ The person over the phone replied.
โMeet me at the hospital.โ He ordered before intercepting the call, but as soon as he did, he received a message from A-Yeong that she had just arrived at the airport and requested a location, and he sent her a text to meet him at the hospital.
He didnโt need to tell her the reason for the meeting at the hospital because he was sure she had a clue of what it was.
Dan-Han made his way to the hospital, and the moment he arrived, he met a few people who were already waiting for him.
โMr. Lee.โ A middle-aged doctor dressed in a white lab coat bowed as well as the people behind him. Dan-Han frowned, seeing the unnecessary number of people looking at him.
โWhat part of discreet did you not understand?โ He coldly asked the man, who suddenly trembled. Small beads of sweat formed on his face and the others standing behind him.
โIโm sorry, President Lee. I just thought-โ He stuttered. He turned towards the people behind and surreptitiously signaled them to leave, and they all scrambled away.
โIโm sorry, President Lee. I didnโt mean to-โ
โLead the way.โ He ordered, not having the leisure time to accommodate his apology. The man vigorously nodded and quickly led the way. free๐โฏ๐ฏ๐ฃ๐ผฮฝ๐๐น.๐o๐
The man led him to his office, where Dan-Han saw one of his subordinates waiting. He had sent the man over even before he boarded his plane.
โBoss.โ The man jerked to his feet and bowed the moment he saw Dan-Han.
โWhere is it?โ He asked, and the man brought a specimen bag containing a few strands of hair.
Dan-Han received it and gave it to the doctor. โHow long will the test take.โ
โA few hours.โ He hurriedly replied.
โGood.โ Dan-Han nodded.
โThen take my sample and send me the results the moment itโs out.โ He ordered.
.....
