Pause System: Harem In The Apocalypse-160 Chapter 159
Ahead of the two, was but a single Kessho, He too had crystal blue eyes, but with purple hair. He had holes all around his arm, a strange purple smoke was being released from the holes.
His ability was not to be messed with. He could secrete chemicals from the skin that directly affect or influence in ways which they still weren't sure of.
[Pheromones: Poison cloud]
A strange purple cloud revolved around him, preventing them from getting close.
The three who were injured behind Gray and Ria had burn marks all over their skin, it was obvious what the cause was.
Still, Ria was constantly teleporting around looking for a breakage in his formation.
She would distort the air around the mist, with her spatial manipulation forcing him to run out of hiding before teleporting behind him with her rapier thrusting at his back.
Only one hit, that was all she needed to end the fight. With just a single hit from the Rapier, she could distort his body and end it there.
*Clang!*
But his ability wasn't the only thing making it a hassle to fight him.
A metal pole, spun around from the front of his figure, hitting the side of the rapier and forcing it to change trajectories.
Violet ended up going right past him with her rapier thrust forward as the momentum carried her ahead.
[Pheromones: Paralysing Spray]
Strange liquids sprayed out from the holes in his arm and were directed right at her. 𝗳𝘳𝐞e𝙬𝙚𝚋𝗻𝚘𝚟𝗲l.𝑐𝑜m
A creeped out look grew on her face as she teleported away once more.
[Spatial Manipulation: Teleport.]
"I don't mean to interrupt, Brother, but can you focus on the fight?!" Ria who had been leaping left and right, avoiding the strikes at her asked.
A grin was visible on The kessho's face as he dropped down and charged at Ria.
[Pause Step]
The grin disappeared, as a shadow loomed over from above him.
Something had appeared in his blind spot.
He turned to see what it was, but by then it was too late.
[Fast-Forward.]
An axe kick slammed against the back of his head forcing his head to crash into the ground at high speeds.
Not knowing what had hit him, he moved to get up, but it was to no avail.
His body wasn't responding, not a single muscle would move.
It was as if he was completely frozen.
[Pause.]
He felt his heart sink as the same person who had attacked him crouched down in front of him.
Long Gray hair, with a yellow and silver coloured eye.
'That was too easy... I didn't even get to try out my Future sight... I guess not all of them are strong.' Gray muttered.
"That wasn't easy brother, you just have a cheat ability!" Ria retorted with her cheeks puffed up.
"Maybe you're right." Gray responded.
He glanced back at the Fallen angel opposition corps members before leaning into the Kessho.
Crystal blue eyes again, it turns out that was a similar feature for all of them. Upon closer inspection, Gray noticed that he could even see hints of crystals reflecting in their eye.
'I wonder if those crystals mean anything...' He wondered.
"Hey, you. I'll unpause your mouth so you can talk. Answer my questions and I might let you live." Said Gray.
[Unpause.]
"First question, is there any ranking system or nobles or monarchy or whatever in your-"
Gray didn't bother to finish his sentence, his eyes widened as he something strange occur.
He could see the entire outline of the Kessho's body move out of it while his body stayed still. The mouth of his outline swelled up before opened up releasing a strange smoke directed towards Gray.
Gray's eyes became sore a second after, he blinked and the outline was gone.
'What was that?'
To Gray's surprise, the Kessho made it's move. His closed mouth swelled up, only to open up and release a burst of multi-coloured smoke which he directed at Gray.
The Kessho followed its body's outline's movements perfectly.
"Pause." Gray muttered calmly.
Gray felt chills go down his spine.
The kessho's eyes widened as the smoke spread apart and moved right past Gray. It was as if a barely visible wall had been in front of him blocking it.
"I can't believe it..." Gray muttered, his heart pounding from excitement.
The outline which he had seen was followed perfectly, leading him to one and only one conclusion.
It was the outline of what was going to happen in the future. He saw what was going to happen before it happened.
[Future Sight: Level 1]
The skill had activated on it's own.
Gray grinned at the expected yet unexpected discovery.
'I haven't gotten to testing it yet, but this really exceeds my expectations...' He thought to himself joyfully.
Gray was so focused on what had just happened, that he didn't even realise that it had been an assasination attempt at him.
Ria had even placed her hand on his shoulder and was ready to teleport him away if the smoke even looked like it was going to touch him.
She sighed in relief once she saw that he had pause the air ahead of him creating a wall to block the dangerous looking smoke however.
The smoke scattered around and Gray looked down at the Kessho.
The look Gray gave him after that, sent chills rushing down his spine.
"Guess you won't answer any of my questions... Oh well, guess I'll just find out myself." Said Gray as he raised his Katana up into the air.

[You have killed a Kessho.]
[You have earned 90 XP]
The head of the Kessho rolled over the edge of the building before falling down onto where the swarm of zombies roamed.
The life in it's eyes had disappeared completely, the glow from the crystal was non-existent having dimmed down to a point of no return.
The zombies which had been in the area, rushed after the kessho's head and body which followed after.
While this happened, Gray could be seen engaged in a conversation with the members of the corps.
"Thank you for saving us..." Said their leader.
Short brown hair, with a bandage covering both sides of his cheeks and edge of his nose.
"Don't mention it." Gray replied. "More importantly... Explain to me what's happening, what's all of this?"
He glanced over at his other two team members who were still recovering and nodded.
"We're not aware of the full situation but..."
The young corps member explained everything to the best of his abilities making sure not to leave anything out.
Even with the occasional explosions happening over head with the fleets engaged in all out combat, even with his voice shivering occasionally from fear and all the pain which he was experiencing, he kept to it.
He was fully aware of who Gray was, rather, there wasn't a single corps member who wasn't.
He explained that shortly after Gray had left, the European continent was completely taken over by two different races.
The two races were currently engaged in an all-out fight in an attempt to claim the continent all for themselves.
The fight wasn't heading anywhere, and the two races decided on a truce.
Each one sending their forces to a different continent.
The force which came to America, was the Kessho. The race which they were currently fighting.
Not much was known about them, much less than what they knew about the horned ones. There didn't seem to be any monarchy amongst them, but there were clearly ranks.
Among the many Kessho there were some referred to as 'Captains.'
Upon encountering one it was easy to tell what it was with a single glance, all one would need to do was look at the colour of their crystal-like eyes.
If it was red, then it was a captain.
"The captains are beasts... Monsters... I thought to horned nobles were bad but they're just as horrible...!" Said the corps member, his mouth shivering as the thought sunk in.
Gray's jaw had dropped from surprise.
"You... That's a lot more information than I was expecting." Gray responded, dumbfounded.
The corps member explained that they were all given an explanation with video and everything of the chaos which the Kessho was causing in the other continent.
Gray didn't even bother to ask how America got a hold of that info.
"Speaking of all of this... I haven't gone back to the base to check on them. Do you have any device I could use to talk to the president or executive?" Gray asked.
Upon hearing that, the corps member's eyes narrowed as they frowned. Their spirits seemed to have dropped as they recalled something.
"About that... That won't be possible..." Their leader muttered.
"Why is that?" Gray asked.
Their leader's eyes grew watery, he teared up as he responded. "The president and the executive are dead... The base was raided, news has already gone around."
Ria's brows raised in surprise and disbelief. "They were raided? What happened to all the people there?" She asked.
The corps member hung his head.
"Over half of them died... But fortunately, the rest were evacuated to another base thanks to the president and the executive's sacrifice."
Gray's brows raised upon hearing this.
"Hm~ So those men had it in them to sacrifice their selves for their people, huh... Maybe I was wrong about them." Gray muttered.
"You were... The president and the executive are good people. Even with all the resources they had, they focused into putting it in for the good of the city rather than just themselves... They are the two people I respect the most." Said their leader with determined eyes.
'He doesn't seem to be lying... Was I too harsh?" Gray wondered.
"And there's one more thing he instructed all of us to tell you once you returned. I'm not sure if the others have told you yet but..."
