Path To Godhood Begins With Marrying Wife And Gaining SSS Rank Skill-Chapter 416:What Do You Have To Say?
While the sudden cease of battle brought relief across the Frontier, for others it brought nothing but immense headaches.
The demon invasion had drawn the eyes of the entire world. Many powers had already set their board pieces, quietly preparing to make their moves, only to find the board violently flipped before they could even act. Plans that took months to prepare were rendered useless overnight.
They all knew this was not the end.
And yet, it still irked them deeply.
"Damn it!" a man roared as he slammed both hands onto the table, the heavy wood cracking slightly under the force. His brows twisted into a deep frown, veins bulging on his forehead.
"Which guy acted now!"
The room was vast and dimly lit, filled with nobles, advisors, and high-ranking officials seated around a long table. None of them spoke immediately. The air was tense, thick with suppressed anger and frustration.
When Amber acted, she had used a cloak to hide her identity. As for Ethan and Ray, although many had seen their appearances, no one knew who they truly were. Their faces were unfamiliar, their origins a mystery.
On top of that, the King of Frontier had issued a strict order.
Absolute secrecy.
Every witness was silenced. Every rumor was crushed before it could spread. The king was not a child. He understood very well what kind of danger awaited the person who had stepped forward to help Frontier. Because of that, he pursued secrecy with ruthless determination.
"And what is this ruthlessness?" another man spoke, his voice cold as he leaned back in his chair.
"Directly annihilating a demon camp without a shred of hesitation."
"This is brutal."
Several heads nodded in agreement. The destruction was too clean, too decisive. It was not the act of someone merely defending a border. It was the act of someone sending a message.
"Your Highness," one of the ministers spoke carefully, "but isn’t this good for us?"
"Good, my foot!" the man snapped instantly. "I want to strangle that guy."
His eyes burned with irritation as he continued, "Didn’t every Empire order their forces to keep themselves in check? To stay on standby and not provoke the demons unnecessarily?"
"So which holy guy of righteousness acted on his own and pulled this shit?"
The room stirred.
"Kill..." someone muttered darkly.
"Such a guy needs to be killed without absolute mercy," another voice added.
"This idiot doesn’t understand balance. Frontier was already on the verge of surrendering. Everything was moving exactly as planned. But this guy just had to wag his tail out of nowhere and ruin the flow."
The man at the head of the table stood up abruptly, pacing back and forth as his anger simmered.
"Your Highness, calm down," a white-haired servant spoke softly from behind him. "Frontier hasn’t changed its stance."
The man stopped mid-step.
"It has already surrendered," the servant continued. "And they have extended their hand as agreed."
The room went quiet.
The man slowly turned around, staring at the servant with a look of disbelief and suspicion.
"You aren’t lying, right?" he asked, his voice low and sharp.
"Of course not, Your Highness," the servant replied calmly. "How could that be?"
The man sucked in a cold breath and closed his eyes for a brief moment. When he opened them again, some of the rage had faded, replaced by calculation.
"I see," he said slowly. "Good."
He returned to his seat and folded his hands together.
"Then it’s settled."
Around the table, several officials relaxed slightly, though none truly felt at ease. The situation had stabilized on the surface, but everyone knew it was only temporary. The unknown figure who had annihilated the demon camp had become a variable too dangerous to ignore.
.........
While the world was desperately seeking the identity of the anonymous figure, the person everyone was talking about had already returned.
"Ohhh my God! You are so strong and yet so pretty!"
Sudden excited screams erupted, startling Amber as she turned her head. A group of women had gathered around her, their eyes shining with enthusiasm as they stared at her without restraint. Their reactions were loud and honest, making Amber feel slightly overwhelmed.
"Lady Amber, I have heard a lot about you," Julia spoke with glowing eyes, her voice filled with admiration.
She did not know many strong women personally, but Lady Amber’s name carried real weight. Especially during the conflict between Frontier, Ruthiana, and Arcadia, Amber had tried to mediate and resolve the situation. Sadly, she had been dragged into the chaos instead.
"I am not that great," Amber replied modestly, a faint blush appearing on her cheeks as she waved her hand lightly.
"Lady Amber, how strong are you really?" Lia asked curiously, leaning forward with undisguised interest.
"I am at middle Legendary rank," Amber answered honestly, then added after a pause, "but due to my injury, my power has regressed a bit."
"Is it because you tried to save Ray?" Sophia asked quietly, her eyes filled with concern and sadness.
"Of course not—" Amber began, but before she could finish, Sophia stepped forward and grabbed Amber’s hands tightly.
"Thank you," Sophia said, her voice trembling as tears rolled down her cheeks. "Really, thank you for taking care of my child. Without you, I don’t even want to imagine what could have happened to him."
Amber was taken aback.
The family had not been given a detailed explanation of what had happened. All they knew was that Ethan had been training in a sealed chamber, and yet he had suddenly appeared in Frontier and returned with Ray. That alone was enough to shake them to their core.
No one knew how Ethan had escaped, what truly happened there, or how dangerous the situation had been. They only understood one thing. It had been terrifyingly close.
Seeing Sophia like this, Amber quickly tried to calm her. "It’s okay. It really wasn’t that dangerous," she said gently. "Count Blank appeared at a crucial moment and flipped the entire battlefield."
Claira, who had been sitting quietly nearby, slowly raised her head. Her eyes were sharp with curiosity. "Then... can you describe it?"
Amber paused for a moment, surprised by the sudden question. She looked at the eager gazes surrounding her, all filled with anticipation. Her mind drifted back to the image of Ethan stepping out from the shadows.
Hmm.
It really had been an impressive entrance.
After taking a short breath, Amber began narrating the events. She described the chaos, the pressure, and the moment Count Blank appeared. As she spoke, she added a few extra details, embellishing the scene slightly. The listeners leaned in closer, completely absorbed, gasping and reacting at every dramatic turn.
Meanwhile, far away from the lively gathering, the person at the center of all the talk sat in a quiet room.
The atmosphere there was entirely different.
Ethan stood with his arms crossed, glaring down at the white-haired boy standing in front of him. The room was silent, heavy with unspoken tension.
"So tell me, Ray," Ethan said at last, his voice calm but carrying an unmistakable weight.
"What do you have to say?"
