Pampered By My Fake Boyfriend's Brother-Chapter 485: Jiang Keke? Break Up?
"Knock, knock..."
Just as An Yin found herself caught in a dilemma, a knock on the door interrupted her. She playfully stuck out her tongue in a cute gesture, then quickly stood up, "It might be the delivery. I’ll get the door."
An Ying watched her daughter dash off with deep-set eyes and advised, "Slow down, don’t trip and fall."
"Got it."
In the blink of an eye, An Yin had already swung the door open and retrieved the delivery. She carried the heavy package and placed it on the computer desk by the window.
"Smells so good!" Even before unwrapping the bag, a rich and spicy aroma filled the air. An Yin excitedly opened the bag and arranged the food neatly on the table.
Seeing her daughter’s hungry expression, An Ying warned, "Try to eat less strong-flavored food in the future." An Ying had been weak constitutionally since childhood, always getting stomach upsets from unclean food, so she had always been strict about diet, forbidding An Yin from eating casually.
"Just once in a while," An Yin muttered under her breath.
With that, she removed the plastic lid of the spicy crayfish dish, and soon the entire room was enveloped in the delicious aroma.
An Ying slipped on the hotel slippers and slowly walked over to sit on the sofa.
An Yin handed over a box of rice.
An Ying accepted it.
As she looked at the large platter of spicy crayfish, with its red oil, chili, and a variety of other seasonings, An Ying wanted to caution her daughter to eat less. But seeing the joyfulness on her daughter’s face, she decided against ruining her mood.
An Ying ate only half of her meal before heading to the bathroom to freshen up.
An Yin was left alone, thoroughly enjoying her food on the sofa.
When An Ying emerged from the bathroom, she saw her daughter’s lips swollen from the spiciness, her eyes glistening with unshed tears, and even her forehead damp with sweat.
"Look at you, all sweaty," An Ying took a tissue from the table and gently wiped the sweat from her daughter’s forehead.
"It’s so delicious..." As An Yin ate, she became more engrossed, savoring the spiciness with visible relish, her lips puckering with excitement and her cheeks flushed, looking charming and lovely.
Seeing only two or three crayfish left on the plate, An Ying let her be.
Afterward, she lay down at the bed’s edge.
The events of the day resurfaced vividly in her mind; after all these years, the man remained as handsome and dashing as ever. An Ying lightly caressed her pounding heart, meeting him again had once more stirred her emotions.
Meng Heming...
This name had long been carved into the depths of her heart, and all these years, she had endured countless hardships drawing strength from the beautiful memories of her youth.
To prevent her daughter from noticing anything unusual, An Ying turned her head to the side, lowered it, and deliberately swiped her fingers over the screen, letting the cheerful sounds of the short video drown out her inner feelings of emptiness and melancholy.
In the corner, after finishing her meal, An Yin began tidying up the table’s leftover scraps. Her hands were greasy, so she headed to the bathroom to wash up before taking out the trash.
"Why not just leave it here?" An Ying questioned as she saw her daughter about to go out.
"No way, otherwise the room will be full of this smell later," An Yin replied.
Having grown up with a fastidious mother, An Yin knew she had to take the trash out for her mother’s peace of mind that night.
Heading down the corridor, she looked around but couldn’t find a trash bin, so she walked towards the elevator.
Walking down the straight corridor, with patterned red carpet beneath her feet, An Yin felt a little nervous; after turning the corner ahead, she’d be at the elevator lobby.
Gripping the package tighter, she lowered her head a bit more.
When she saw someone approaching, she grew anxious.
Finally reaching the elevator lobby, she spotted a trash bin in the corner. Just as she was about to toss her meal container, she heard a thud from the elevator.
Soon after, the elevator doors slowly opened.
With her back to the elevator, An Yin couldn’t see what was happening behind her.
However, when a familiar voice sounded, she froze in place.
"Don’t be like that, we’re not even back in the room yet. Stop being so handsy..." The girl’s voice was sweet and soft, with a hint of playful whining.
Standing close to her, the man’s intense gaze remained fixated on her, his eyes brimming with desire, "Keke, I can’t wait any longer." The man’s words broke with urgency, and even as he spoke, his firm hands were already encircling Jiang Keke’s waist, gradually moving upward.
The man’s expression looked honest, but when facing Jiang Keke, his impatience was clearly written in his eyes.
"You scoundrel, wait a moment."
"Keke..."
In a flash, Jiang Keke nestled into the man’s arms, and neither noticed a startled young girl standing in the corner.
After hurriedly disposing of the trash, An Yin quickly left the elevator area. As she turned the corner, she peeked out, catching sight of a familiar figure not far away.
The two had been friends for years, and An Yin was positive she couldn’t be mistaken.
That was indeed Jiang Keke, leaning against the man. An Yin was certain that man wasn’t Bao Cheng.
Could it be that Jiang Keke had broken up with Bao Cheng? If that was the case, it might not be such a bad thing? With that thought, An Yin heaved a sigh of relief, taking it as a sign that Jiang Keke had finally seen the light, feeling pleased for her friend.
An Yin stood in the corner, watching them stop at the end of the corridor, then the two entered a room.
Only then did An Yin finally step out, returning to the room door in high spirits. After knocking, the door opened in seconds, and when An Ying saw her daughter’s beaming smile, she looked puzzled, "Why so happy just for taking out the trash?"
An Yin gleefully followed An Ying to the bed, whispering, "Hehe, I just discovered a secret."
"What secret?" An Ying turned her head to ask.
"Since it’s a secret, I can’t tell," An Yin teased.
Seeing her daughter’s sly grin, An Ying shook her head helplessly. It’s fine for a child to have some secrets of their own.
"Go take a shower," An Ying urged, giving her daughter lying on the bed a gentle push.
"I know," An Yin said as she jumped up and dashed towards the bathroom.
Watching her daughter’s serene smile, An Ying couldn’t help but feel a bit gratified.
Ever since her daughter’s birth, she wished for her to live as carefree as other kids from regular families. As for the missing fatherly love, An Ying intended to make up for it in her own way.
Over the years, seeing her daughter become more understanding, An Ying felt truly content. She only hoped that her daughter’s life would remain simple, and that after graduating from college, she’d marry into a normal family.
As for the present Mr. Bao, he would just be a part of her daughter’s youthful memories.
Bao Shaojin, with his eloquent manner, such a young master would undoubtedly marry into a family of equal stature when the time comes.
An Ying pondered; her daughter had always been pure and kind, and was truly not suited for marrying into a wealthy family.
