Overpowered Wizard-Chapter 263: B3: C53: Champions and Reviews 1
Chapter 263: B3: C53: Champions and Reviews 1
The arrow moved at a speed that nearly caught Zarian off guard even with it flying to his chest. Para reacted fast enough to sync up with him with barely any time to spare.
Her aura merged with his synapses, flowing with his neurons. She adapted his brain on the fly as well, upgrading the hardware, making him compute faster.
That came with some intense migraines. Brain damage, too. None of that mattered. He’d gone through brain damage before.

All that mattered was becoming closer to one, firming up their mental foundations, pushing free evil +7 to the extremes, making him and Para smarter, sharper, and more cunning. They reinforced their One Percent Darkness with a quick cast of Void Domain, activating their key buffs.
Meanwhile, they identified some functions of the arrow with their Devourer of Secrets and Stories. The power packed into that projectile was staggering and should be avoided.
The nerfed regressor had a power beyond most Master Rankers. The white archer’s claim as a Champion Ranker was undeniable.
It was too late to use Void Waltz however, and if they did, the collateral damage would be catastrophic. The arrow could strike with a force that would annihilate the entire island populace of Frivolous City and the neighboring island cities and towns as well.
Hundreds of thousands to over a million people would die. And that would be a mere-byproduct of what the white archer was trying to do.
Zarian and Para also identified that the arrow could burn most evil-doers up like it was the wrath of the Ascended Heavens forged into a single projectile. The arrow had the power to stop short of killing a target and locking them down for capture, too, so it was truly meant for Zarian.
Maybe the arrow could apply a seal all on its own. That was highly unlikely, however. There was too much power in this one projectile for it to serve such a complex function.
Still, there were definitely a few more things this one arrow could do because of the white archer’s array of traits, skills, and advancements. The white archer himself probably had abilities that were higher in quality than mythical.
Zarian and Para wouldn’t know. They could only learn so much within the small time window they had to both reinforce their defenses and prepare for the greatest hit they were going to take.
There was one thing that wasn’t much of a mystery about the white archer.
He was certainly above traditional good +7. Arch Cherubs like Metatron were good +7.
The white archer was good +8 or above.
“FUCK!” Zarian roared, grabbing the arrow with both hands, covering himself and the projectile with void darkness.
He contained the imminent eruption for a split second longer. He and his synchronized partner covered Walter in a capsule of void darkness as well.
They hardened the entire island with void darkness. They constructed a giant cone with the stuff over the island to contain the blast while keeping an opening at the top to direct the destruction force upward.
He and his synchronized partner did all they could. Then the promised boom slipped out of Zarian’s grasp and roared over him and all of Frivolous City.
For the first time, Zarian felt his Overwhelming Darkness on the brink of failing outright. He wished he had more time to set up for Two Percent Darkness. He really wanted to save the people of Frivolous City and the surrounding islands.
But the eruption was so strong and destructive, he could feel his One Percent Darkness breaking down. His defense over the city and his redirection of the explosion were crumbling.
He couldn’t see anything through the bright white fury and roar, but he could certainly feel it. It was like being in the middle of a mountain fall while strapped to a rocket. Para could barely match his tenacity and help him against this destructive attack.
So, Zarian made the only play he and Para thought they could. He tried to use the Lion Prince to change the flow of causality.
That outright failed.
Zarian and Para felt their backs were against the walls.
Instead of folding, they took every lesson, every experience, every moment being wizards, and pushed their magic further. They re-cast the already complex and mighty mythical spell, Void Domain, layering the second cast over the first.
They cast Minor Void Portal, a legendary spell that came with a titanic aura cost to summon and maintain.
They fused the portal with their double domain and sent the remaining force from the explosion into the void. Then they shut off Minor Void Portal because it was too hefty to maintain.
Unfortunately, Minor Void Portal was only usable once a week. Fortunately, they saved themselves, everyone of Frivolous City, and created an opening.
They weaved all of their aura into their void darkness, using Aura Mastery faster and with more potency than ever before. Then they went on the attack, surprising the white archer the only way a wizard could.
They used Grand War Mage Body Furnace, becoming a ball of plasma-blue fury. They closed the distance with two explosive steps that would’ve rocked the city if it wasn’t for how their void darkness held it all together.
The white archer cursed. He swung around his bow for a melee hit and to ward away the incoming heat coming from an unpredictable wizard.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Zarian took a blunt strike in the face from a weapon that was beyond mythical quality. His jaw ended up shattered.
That was okay. The brilliant plasma-blue light covering his body did all it could to keep him from getting knocked back.
His back muscles bulged. His legs pushed with even more explosive force. His haymaker punch combined his body furnace skill + parasite + One Percent Darkness + Void Domain.
He landed flush on the masked man with a whopper of a hit that resounded like a bomb. The white archer ended up knocked straight off his feet. He flew backward, becoming stunned.
The damage wasn’t as heavy as Zarian would prefer. A high-quality energy shield popped and crackled over the white archer. The shield had clearly absorbed a majority of the impact. Or the archer would’ve lost his head.
Still, some of the damage had passed through. Or the Champion Regressor would’ve recovered instantly. After a moment, he ended up flipping himself around before he left the square, his boots skidding across the air.
Three arrows appeared on his bow, drawn back by the hands of a Champion Regressor. He was fast. But Zarian was a teensy bit faster.
The wizard’s hands already finished signing. Para spoke the chant for him at blurring speed to keep up. Their synchrony made it possible for her to help to unseal his darkness further.
They were about to use his Three Percent Power Unsealed/Triple Threat Darkness when time stopped.
Not just time for the city. Zarian could almost tell that time for the entire world had stopped. His Lion Prince sensed it through the breaks and interruptions of causality. He felt how everything wasn’t flowing correctly in the cosmic sense, at least in their small corner of the Infinita Star System.
Even without Lion Prince, Zarian could feel the raw magic of an incredible worldwide phenomenon happening. It halted the planet, using an immense amount of aura to do so.
There was a titanic country-sized rune miles to the west. It glowed so brightly the light of its power etched into the mantle of the world beamed through miles of rock and crust to brighten the sky with a blue aura.
It was so mind-boggling vast while also so extraordinarily complex, Zarian didn’t even mind that he was getting interrupted from unleashing Three Percent Darkness.
Things soon improved for the better. Ruvaria the Sorceress Queen walked into view with a few dainty steps.
She was wearing a cerulean, backless, strapless dress with flower-like sandals. Her long silver-gold hair was fixed into a single big braid at the back that reached down to her lower calves. High-quality diamonds glimmered behind her head where the braid started.
She also had two front braids that dangled along the sides of face, accentuating her beautiful pale features and sharp, elven ears. Then the image of her that should’ve been flawless became discordant because of her prosthetic emerald eye and doll-like wooden arm on the right.
Even then, she seemed as close to perfect as an elf empress could be. That was until a devious smirk appeared on her face, giving away how deeply imperfect she was inside.
Zarian minded little. He was just happy to see her. He was also curious about what she was going to do and how the hell she could stop the flow of time for the entire world.
It was such a ridiculous power move, Zarian could feel more involvement from the Star System. The universal force in charge of Infinita had to work more of its systemic magic to track the world’s placement. The System probably had to place the world back where it should be when time resumed.
All because of Ruvaria, who was truly a mad elf woman.
“Champion Rankers should stay where they belong, in Champion Worlds in the Greater Realm,” Ruvaria said. “Especially you, Justin.”
What the fuck?! The guy’s name is Justin?! That’s kind of normal for him.
Zarian would’ve laughed if he could move. He was glad that he was aware enough of what was happening.
Better yet, he sensed the Justin guy over there was aware, too. There was a lot of weird angst and tension coming from the archer.
Ruvaria didn’t give a fuck. She sashayed over to Zarian’s side and placed a hand daintily on his arm, leaning close against him.
Zarian couldn’t quite feel it, because of the disruption of time, but he knew what the gesture was achieving.
A searing hot hatred from Justin flowed past the time-stop and struck Zarian.
The other man’s hatred was so furious, so great, it was bigger than Jack’s. The best way to describe it was like meeting the big brother of Jack.
Apparently, Justin had history with Ruvaria and couldn’t let things go. Zarian wasn’t exactly sure, but the Champion Regressor gave Zarian the type of vibes that were less innocent and more desperate and demented.
Still not giving a fuck, Ruvaria kept openly flirting with Zarian and stroking the fire of Justin’s inadequacy. The archer strained against the worldly time stop and succeeded to move … a few inches.
That was enough to fire three arrows.
Three slow moving arrows.
But they were still arrows that moved inch by inch in disagreement with Ruvaria’s worldwide time stop.
If that wasn’t interesting enough already, the sky was growing darker. One of the twinned suns lost more light, as if it was getting drained of power.
Para came to a unique theory about the dimming sunlight. The giant runes are part of a worldly array owned by Ruvaria. The power the array is drawing from isn’t necessarily from Ruvaria alone, if not at all. I think the second sun, the Corma Star, is uniquely linked to the World of Castles and Caverns, and thus it is a source of light and power for the magic of the world. Ruvaria not only created a time-stopping array that’s as large as the world, she’s draining power from a star to make it function!
Para paused before coming to another conclusion. You’re finding this show of power from Ruvaria very enthralling and you want to have a moment with her to release tension. I think I understand your preferences better while I’m synched up to you like this. You like extremely powerful women to where they can casually break time and space. Hm. This eliminates mostly 99% of all options I had in mind for you. My research is demolished.
Zarian would’ve fallen over, but he couldn’t. He had his time stopped still, and he wasn’t fighting it. He was also synched up with Para, so everything she thought of, he thought of with her.
Despite the sync, it was still nice to role-play as if they were separate right now. The extra commentary was fun while they watched Ruvaria deal with the slow-moving arrows of mass destruction and hatred.
The Sorceress Queen moved her hands and fingers with quick and articular motions. She weaved bright strings of heavily condensed aura in between them.
Then her bare fingers and aura strings constructed another complex array, but much smaller. This one was something Zarian could somewhat recognize – portal magic.
All portals dealt with the void, so Zarian and Para watched intently as Ruvaria made three copies of the same array. Then she activated them with a snap of her fingers. All three arrays disappeared along with the three arrows.
Then Ruvaria sauntered over and pointed her palm at Justin, who moved inch by inch to draw more arrows from his powerful bow.
Ruvaria clucked at him, like she was softly scolding a child. She soon moved on, chanting something in deep elvish Zarian barely caught. When she finished, Justin disappeared completely.
Nice, Zarian thought. Also, hot.
