Out of Control: Into Your Everything-Chapter 192: Now I Have It
Scarlett Shaw’s almond-shaped eyes were smiling, "Before, a certain someone clearly said, no matter what I want to do, they would fulfill my wishes. And insisted on pushing me away, in the name of saying that there are many things in life more important than love, ones that are worth pursuing as dreams!"
"But you also said, your dream is me."
As soon as Julian Ford finished speaking, Scarlett Shaw’s pupils dilated, and she said incredulously, "Julian Ford, how are you becoming thicker-skinned!"
Who would say they are someone else’s dream!
"He who keeps company with a moody person becomes moody." Julian Ford held her hand tight and shamelessly said, "I learned it all from you."
Scarlett Shaw had not thought of leaving, but her boyfriend’s attitude was so unreasonably firm.
And, she didn’t know if it was her illusion, for the first time, she sensed a hint of shamelessness from Julian Ford’s indifferent and arrogant aura.
She boldly teased, "Why is it that listening to you today, I feel like a heartbreaker who would abandon you?"
Julian Ford raised an eyebrow, "Can’t rule out the possibility."
"Julian Ford, you’re questioning my character!" Scarlett Shaw was angry, her almond eyes glaring round and bright, "I’m clearly devoted to you, yet you’re doubting that I would be fickle!"
Hearing this, Julian Ford looked at her pretty eyes, couldn’t help but gently pinch her chin, leaned down and gave her a light kiss, his dark eyes smiling, "Your rap is not bad, once I finish the surgery, I’ll help you debut."
Scarlett Shaw: "..."
It’s all because of Ryan Ford, that bastard!
Can’t seem to get over the underground rapper thing, can we!
Scarlett Shaw, sulking, didn’t want to respond to people, Julian Ford forced her to look into his eyes, his dark eyes carrying both gentleness and a warning:
"You’re the one who reminded me."
Scarlett Shaw was a bit stunned, "What?"
"The cohabitation matter."
Julian Ford spoke in a light and casual tone, his expression unchanged, but Scarlett Shaw could see that he was still brooding over her refusal.
Petty man.
Truly narrow-minded.
Scarlett Shaw: "Lately, I return to the Cloud Mansion every day, isn’t that practically the same as living together?"
"That’s just because of my illness."
Julian Ford had developed some immunity to Scarlett Shaw’s sugar-coated words and looked at her with a piercing gaze, saying:
"Our relationship has come this far; normally, living together should be a natural course, but you still refuse to move in, so I can only reach one conclusion—"
"If I weren’t sick, you simply haven’t prepared yourself to spend a lifetime with me, have you?"
Julian Ford’s tone didn’t carry any blame, as if he were merely calmly analyzing the facts.
Scarlett Shaw was momentarily at a loss to deny it.
The psychology of sacrifice is a very subtle thing.
Just like many young lovers who can go through hardships together but part ways at the peak of success.
If Julian Ford weren’t sick, the biggest problem she and he would face is not his life-and-death treatment, but the vast reality gap that lies between them.
The latter is often more fatal than the former in terms of emotional distance.
"But in this world, there is no ’if.’" Scarlett Shaw defended herself, "Besides, wasn’t it you who repeatedly emphasized from the start that we wouldn’t make it to the end?"
Julian Ford gazed at her.
For a long time, he slowly said, "But now, I have."
Scarlett Shaw’s eyelashes quivered slightly, her almond eyes filled with mist, incredulous, yet deeply moved.
"I’ve never asked you when you found out about my illness, but if I’m not wrong, it was on New Year’s Eve, just before you agreed to date me, wasn’t it?"
Julian Ford raised his hand, his thumb lightly brushed the slightly reddening corner of her eye.
His expression was as calm as water.
"When I saw you that day, you had just cried, and it wasn’t just because you were worried about my fainting, but also because you heard what Josiah Sutton and I talked about."
"You are brave in everything, always the type who would regret not doing something, and once done, would not look back, even if you hit a wall."
"So at that time, though you were just beginning to have feelings for me, you only thought about being with me for a short while. Because you were very clear, in the end, whether it’s the reality gap or pressure from my family, or because of my illness, you and I were destined to break up."
In the end, she and he were the same from the beginning.
Neither of them held any hope for the future of this relationship.
It wasn’t just Julian Ford whose feelings for Scarlett Shaw went beyond control; Scarlett Shaw felt the same for Julian Ford.
Everything can become a double-edged sword, including Julian Ford’s illness.
Just as Scarlett Shaw had said, their feelings, due to his illness, had a suspension bridge effect, but if everything were fine, the vast reality gap would certainly make her hesitate.
They might not have made it this far.
Scarlett Shaw suddenly let out a long sigh and gave Julian Ford a resentful look.
The latter chuckled lightly, "Unhappy?"
"Saying these things makes me feel like I’m running naked in front of you!"
He really could see through everything.
Julian Ford gently glanced over her dissatisfied and clear face, holding her hand even more tightly.
"Scarlett Shaw, I’m saying these things not to rehash old issues or dwell on matters that have already happened. I want to tell you that no matter what your original intentions were, I already love you very much and intend to spend the rest of my life with you, and this will not change for any reason."
Even if she was unwilling, it wouldn’t change.
Sourness surged up his throat and nose.
Tears welled up.
Scarlett Shaw took a slight breath, forced back the tears, and holding her boyfriend’s hand said:
"Even if everything you said about the past is true, now, I’m the same as you."
Julian Ford raised an eyebrow, "The same in what way?"
Knowing he was pretending not to understand, Scarlett Shaw still wanted to lift her eyes and earnestly respond to him:
"The longer I’m with you, the more I can’t help but think, after you’re well, our lives will continue long and happily, and we will keep going."
Nothing is more fortunate than emotions invested always receiving equal or even more responses.
Other than Scarlett Shaw, no one else could achieve this.
The hospital corridor was bustling with people, their words were moving, but they didn’t have any excessive intimate gestures.
Just fingers interlocked, creating a sense of hearts closely connected.
Ethan Ford had specially come to the hospital today for a check-up, unexpectedly seeing his nephew’s closely protected girlfriend.
When he saw Scarlett Shaw, she was sitting alone on a hospital bench, her pretty and clean face written full of deep worry.
Until Julian Ford came out of neurology.
The two quickly left holding hands.
Ethan Ford, standing afar, didn’t intend to interrupt the young couple, but when looking at Julian Ford beside the neurology department, a hint of doubt and worry arose in his heart.
A few days later, when visiting his elder brother and sister-in-law at Ezra Ford’s residence, he suddenly remembered this and asked with concern:
"Brother, is there something wrong with Julian’s health? A few days ago, I saw him having a lot of check-ups at the hospital."
