Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike-Chapter 391 - 372: Wedding Dress
Seeing Simon Forrester about to move forward, Sienna Thornton pulled his arm, shook her head, signaling him to wait where he stood.
The two of them paused at the corner of the corridor.
Bianca Fordham was still scolding her daughter-in-law, only to hear Mrs. Reed whispering pitifully, "Alright, I know, I’ll find another chance to apologize to her!"
"Hmph! Who would’ve thought that girl is Thornton’s illegitimate daughter, she’s lucky enough. Thornton’s protecting her like that; let’s see who dares to bully her in the future..."
"Is being Dean Thorne’s daughter that impressive?"
"Of course! In this country, who dares to offend Dean Thorne?"
"Oh..."
The voices of the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law gradually faded away until they disappeared. Only then did Sienna Thornton and Simon Forrester start walking again.
They put the jewelry and wedding dresses in the trunk, both got into the car, and the car quickly drove out of the old house.
On the way, Sienna was silent and didn’t say a word.
Simon didn’t ask much either. It wasn’t until the car had traveled a long way and stopped at a red light that he smiled and asked, "How does it feel to reunite with your biological father?"
Sienna was staring blankly at the night view of Brimfield outside the window, turned her head to look at him, and smiled helplessly, "Honestly, I feel pretty upset."
"Upset?" Simon laughed, "In TV dramas, don’t long-lost fathers and daughters always reunite with tears and embraces? Didn’t you?"
Sienna’s smile turned directly into sarcasm: "TV dramas exaggerate everything. In fact, with the reserved nature of our people, even if they are separated for years, they still meet calmly. We didn’t cry and embrace; it was just that the wind was strong at night, he wanted me to hold his arm, and I refused. Why upset? Maybe it’s still just awkward..."
Simon gently placed a hand on the back of her neck, giving it a light squeeze, comforting her, "Leave it to time, meet more often in the future, and you’ll slowly get used to it."
At this moment, the red light turned green, and the car continued onward. They returned to their original apartment, planning to head back to Z City by noon the next day.
The car drove into the garage, parked, and they took the large bags from the trunk and went into the elevator.
As the elevator slowly ascended, Sienna suddenly thought of something: "Hey, you say Partner Reed has remarried his ex, what about Jane Jefferson?"
Simon was looking up at the numbers on the elevator changing, sneering slightly; he didn’t immediately respond. It wasn’t until they exited the elevator and entered the house that he lowered his voice and said, "If she can stay alive, she should consider herself lucky, let alone expect to marry Tobias Reed?"
The implication of these words was huge. It took Sienna a few seconds to react and she asked, "Is she still alive?"
Simon shook his head, "Probably unlikely."
He carried the bags containing the wedding dress and jewelry into the walk-in closet one by one. Upon learning that Jane Jefferson might already be gone, Sienna’s heart trembled, and her face fell despondently.
Seeing her expression wasn’t right, Simon sat her down on the soft stool in the walk-in closet: "Jane Jefferson should have known the consequences since the day she decided to be Tobias Reed’s other woman. She’s such a smart person, yet chose this path, throwing herself into the abyss, no one can save her, don’t think too much about it."
Sienna nodded, "I know, it’s just a bit hard to accept at first."
Simon patted her shoulder, stood up, and hung up two sets of white gowns and two sets of dresses. Both the gowns and dresses included white diamond elements, and once hung up, the entire closet lit up.
Sienna widened her eyes, looking at the four wedding outfits hanging in front of her, excitedly stood up, and her slender hand caressed the fine texture of the wedding dress, murmuring, "So beautiful!"
"Try them on to see the effect; if they don’t fit, my mom will take them back for alterations." Simon said, taking down a long-sleeved deep V white gown.
Sienna accepted it, holding the wedding dress, just about to turn around, when Simon suddenly grabbed her arm, "Where are you going?"
Her face reddened, "Going to the room to change into the wedding dress..."
***Sweetness***
Sienna stood in front of the full-length dressing mirror, adjusting the trailing white gown she wore.
It was a deep V waist-cinch style gown designed with embroidery elements creating a hollowed-out effect on the upper half. Although it had long sleeves, the sleeves and upper body had hollowed parts, exposing Sienna’s bright white skin through the gaps in the gown.
The wide white silk belt at the waist was tightly cinched, making her slender and fragile waist appear even more enticing. Below the waist, the gown was made of delicate white tulle, adorned with tiny white diamonds. Under the light, the fabric gleamed brilliantly.
This gown magnified all of Sienna’s physical strengths, not just her perfectly proportioned body, but also her flawlessly bright skin; during the wedding, everything would be exposed in front of the guests due to this gown.
Sitting on the stool watching her, Simon was a bit unhappy and said, "I should have spoken up when you decided on the style with the designer."
Seeing his displeased face in the mirror, Sienna asked with a laugh, "Why should you have a say? You don’t even understand!"
"At the wedding, don’t wear this one, wear the other one." Simon pointed with his chin to another more conservative style white gown hanging on the side.
The design of that gown was relatively conservative. Although it was strapless, the fabric was entirely opaque and solid, so it didn’t reveal Sienna’s body. Only the shoulder blades, collarbones, and arms were exposed above the chest area, which Simon could totally accept.
Of course, Sienna knew what he was thinking, obediently changing into it. After changing, adjusting the mermaid dress she wore, she gave him a playful glance and said, "The first one is the main gown to be worn during the wedding. This one is for the banquet at the hotel afterward; wearing this for the wedding would be really cheap."
Simon switched gears in his mind and asked, "Really cheap? So the gown for the hotel banquet, how much does it cost?"
Sienna adjusted the X-shaped hollowed shawl over her shoulder blades and shook her head, "Didn’t you say that wedding dress designer is famous? Such a gown would cost at least several millions."
"Then when we have the banquet, we’d better wear a regular wedding dress."
Hearing this, Sienna understood.
With Quentin Thorne being an official, if during his daughter’s wedding, the bride’s gown’s immense value were recognized, it would cause trouble for Quentin Thorne.
The smile on Sienna’s face immediately disappeared.
She carried the gown, sat down next to Simon, leaned her head on his shoulder, and whispered, "He won’t even let me marry you, why do you consider so much for him?"
