Chapter 327: Chapter 315: The In-Laws’ Identity

Sylvia Langley returned to the old house and tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep.

The reason was naturally because she didn’t know the situation with Sienna Thornton’s missing father.

Simon Forrester had already asked friends in relevant departments for help in finding him, yet they still couldn’t locate him, which was truly bizarre.

Under normal circumstances, if a person exists and has an identity record, even if they’re deceased, you would know where they are buried. The only reason for being untraceable is if they’ve changed identity due to some wrongdoing.

Thinking about the future daughter-in-law’s father’s potentially dangerous identity, Sylvia was worried sick all night.

She finally convinced herself to accept this daughter-in-law, thinking that being poor or from a humble background could be overlooked, but now there’s the issue of the father’s unknown whereabouts.

Unable to sleep all night, she got up early the next day, saw Old Master Forrester practicing Tai Chi in the yard, and quickly walked over, whispering, "Dad, I have something to discuss with you."

"What is it?" Old Master Forrester asked while practicing his moves.

"It’s about Jules and Thornton’s marriage."

As soon as he heard this, Old Master Forrester quickly stopped his movements and followed Sylvia Langley into the living room.

Sylvia, being straightforward, didn’t beat around the bush and said bluntly, "I heard that Thornton’s biological father’s whereabouts are unknown? Have you considered what to do if this person is a fugitive or a subversive? That could affect Jules and the Forrester Family."

At first, Old Master Forrester thought it was about the wedding details. Hearing Sylvia mention fugitives, his anger rose, and he said gruffly, "Where are all these fugitives and subversives coming from? What if Thornton’s father is a high-ranking official? Wouldn’t we be benefiting?"

Sylvia frowned, "There’s no basis for what you’re saying. You know politics better than I do; which official from Wrayhaven has such a status?"

Old Master Forrester said nothing.

Sylvia continued, "Dad, I’m not saying this to oppose Thornton joining the family, I’m genuinely concerned!"

Understanding her concerns for the Forrester Family, Old Master Forrester couldn’t scold her. He thought of several reasons to vindicate Sienna Thornton’s father, but Sylvia refuted them all with good reason.

Seeing Sylvia about to enter a cycle of opposing Candy Sheridan again, Old Master Forrester, fearing trouble, bluntly said, "Jules has already found Thornton’s father, and I’ve met him. He’s definitely not the kind of person you’re worried about, so please don’t stir up trouble!"

Sylvia assumed the old man was making excuses to placate her, persisting, "Dad, I’ll believe you only if you let me meet Thornton’s father!"

Old Master Forrester was momentarily speechless.

Sylvia pressed on, "No matter what, as Jules’ mother, don’t I have the right to meet my future in-laws?"

She wasn’t wrong either.

Old Master Forrester sighed, hesitated for a moment, glanced at the Grant Family next door, separated by just a wall, lowered his voice, and said, "I can tell you, but keep it to yourself. Thornton hasn’t reunited with her biological father yet."

Initially, Sylvia didn’t understand why they hadn’t reunited despite finding him, until Old Master Forrester said, "Thornton’s father is Dean Thorne next door."

She exclaimed, "Quentin Thorne? Ian Grant’s husband?"

Old Master Forrester nodded.

Now it was Sylvia’s turn to be speechless.

She recalled the photos Ian Grant showed her last time, incredulous, "So, when Ian photographed Dean Thorne meeting with Thornton, it was just a father-daughter meeting, which is why Jules was there too?"

Old Master Forrester nodded again, "But Thornton and Dean Thorne haven’t formally reunited. Dean Thorne fears Ian discovering Thornton’s identity and making trouble for her."

Sylvia was no fool, and after a little thought, she understood why Sienna Thornton claimed her father’s whereabouts were unknown, while Simon Forrester couldn’t tell her they had actually found him.

She was both shocked and delighted.

Shocked that Sienna Thornton turned out to be Quentin Thorne’s daughter. Delighted that Thornton’s father wasn’t a criminal but an authority in the domestic judicial field.

As a mother, concerning her son’s marriage, she was realistic and meticulous. Had she known earlier that Sienna Thornton was Quentin Thorne’s daughter, she wouldn’t have opposed it so much.

Sylvia’s cheerful mood even influenced Old Master Forrester, who laughed, "Well, now that you know, don’t mention it to Zane. Dean Thorne insisted that no one should know. As of now, only Jules and I are aware."

"Of course, of course," Sylvia said, beaming, "I know what to say and what not to."

Old Master Forrester wasn’t worried; despite Sylvia’s love for arguments, she was good at keeping important secrets.

.

Sylvia Langley, happy for a while, finally remembered to discuss the wedding details of Candy Sheridan with Old Master Forrester.

"On the wedding day, there’s going to be a documentary. Wrayhaven is so far and so poor, should we avoid letting Thornton go back?" Sylvia suggested, "Anyway, the wedding will be held at the old house, and they’ll be living there for awhile. Why not just bring Thornton over from Jules’ apartment? Or have her go to her mom’s place, since her mother is here too."

Old Master Forrester waved his hand, "Let the young ones handle that. Thornton is a girl with a mind of her own; we shouldn’t interfere too much."

He added with a smile, "She might have already reunited with Dean Thorne by then; it’s possible they’ll arrange for a welcome from Dean Thorne’s side."

Old Master Forrester’s words struck a chord with Sylvia.

If they were to welcome her from the Thorne Family, it would be a great honor for the Forrester Family.

Sylvia nodded in agreement and added, "If by then she’s reunited with Dean Thorne, it’ll make things much easier for us, at least on the bride’s side, with Dean Thorne handling things."

"Dean Thorne is sure to acknowledge his daughter before the wedding," Old Master Forrester said with confidence.

"But," Sylvia recalled Ian Grant’s intimidation and hesitated, "would Ian allow him to recognize the child? Ian has a notorious reputation for being controlling!"

Only then did Old Master Forrester recall that she wasn’t aware of the recent divorce drama between Thorne and Grant, so he recounted the events of a few months ago, how Ian offended people, how Quentin Thorne forced a divorce, and how even the Grant Family couldn’t prevent it.

From Sylvia’s perspective, she considered Quentin Thorne rather cunning, but since Ian was in the wrong first, giving Thorne the chance to act, she didn’t feel sorry for Ian.

Yet Sylvia thought that for Quentin Thorne to reclaim Sienna Thornton as his daughter would require much effort, but based on her thirty-plus years of knowing Quentin Thorne, she was confident he wouldn’t let Ian harm Sienna Thornton.

With this thought, Sylvia felt somewhat reassured.
