Our Love Story: Hard to Guard Against the Sudden Love Strike-Chapter 323 - 311: Farce
"If the father of your child doesn’t acknowledge you, you can always hire me as your lawyer, and I will make sure you get all the rights you deserve! But you can’t blame Simon just because another man doesn’t acknowledge your child! You think nice guys are easy to bully?"
Sienna’s mention of "nice guy" immediately heightened Sylvia’s emotions.
Already fearful that her honest son might be played by a tawdry woman, Sylvia slammed her hand on the dining table, making a loud "bang" that drew everyone’s attention to her.
She pointed at Bianca and Jane, scolding sharply, "Bianca! This woman was your son’s lover for years, got pregnant with his child, and was then kicked out by him! You’re so blind to right and wrong, helping this woman commit such absurd acts! What’s your motive?!"
Sienna tried to pull Sylvia aside, whispering, "Auntie, Mr. Forrester probably doesn’t know the full story; she might just sympathize with Jane’s predicament."
Sylvia was undeterred, shouting, "Bianca! Let me tell you! Even if this wild woman gives birth, I will demand a paternity test! If it turns out this wild woman gave birth to a bastard, just watch how I crush them!"
Her words drained the color from Bianca and Jane’s faces, making them look extremely uncomfortable.
Even Grandma Forrester, struggling to maintain her composure, used her remaining strength to admonish loudly, "Enough, Sylvia! Watch your words!"
Sylvia was relentless and continued her sharp-tongued assault, "I’ll drag this wild woman and her bastard to hell with me! How dare they try to take advantage of my son? Just watch how I’ll crush both of you!"
At this point, she was gnashing her teeth, her eyes filled with intense anger as she glared at Jane and Bianca as if they were bleeding.
Those words were like sharp blades, stabbing into Jane’s three-month pregnant body, white knife in, red knife out.
Jane looked extremely uncomfortable, as if all her strength had been drained, her legs in flat shoes trembling intensely.
Sylvia’s threats terrified her.
She had never imagined that Sylvia, who appeared so elegant and gracious, could be so frightening when enraged, as if she would tear her apart.
Old Master Forrester and Grandma Forrester sighed, seemingly unsurprised by Sylvia’s hysterical behavior.
Simon looked at Jane, a faint smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
Sienna comforted Sylvia.
Once the atmosphere had calmed down again, Simon took out a few A4 papers from his coat pocket, pushed them in front of Old Master Forrester, and smiled, "Since everyone is here today, I have a few things to announce."
He looked at everyone, "Candy and I are getting married, and I’m preparing to sign an agreement that we will later take to the notary office."
Old Master Forrester looked at the documents in his hand, frowning, "Are you sure?"
Simon wrapped his arm around Sienna’s shoulder and smiled, "At this moment, all my assets, including everything I will inherit from my grandfather and parents in the future, will be transferred to Candy. Of course, the agreement will specify that the assets Candy inherits can only be passed down to our children! This is my wedding gift to her and a guarantee for our children, ensuring that the assets will never fall into anyone else’s hands. Do you agree, Grandpa?"
"I don’t agree!" Grandma Forrester clapped her hand, glaring as she spoke.
Sylvia snorted, ignoring her, and turned to Simon, "I agree! I’ve discussed it with your father, and he agrees too!"
Simon nodded and looked at Old Master Forrester, "What about you, Grandpa?"
Old Master Forrester looked at the documents in his hand, pondering in silence for a while, before raising his eyes to look at Simon and Sienna, asking, "At what age will the assets be transferred to the children?"
Simon: "Any age is fine; it depends on your happiness."
Old Master Forrester raised three fingers and said, "Then you should have three children! At that time, the assets will be equally transferred to my three great-grandchildren!"
Simon readily agreed.
Old Master Forrester nodded, "Alright then! I agree! As long as the assets ultimately end up with my grandson, I’m fine with it!"
Having said that, he looked at Jane.
Jane glared hatefully at Sienna, her hand at her side clenching into a tight fist.
Familiar with the "Inheritance Law," she knew that once Simon signed this agreement, even if her child was legally recognized as a Forrester, it would still have no claim to the Forrester family’s assets!
Such a maneuver was not something that law-ignorant Forrester family members could come up with!
Bianca sighed, looking as if she’d accepted the inevitable.
And once Grandma Forrester heard that the property would ultimately end up with her great-grandchildren, she stopped opposing the plan.
Just when Bianca was about to leave with Jane, a tall figure suddenly appeared at the door.
Thomas strode in, grabbing Jane’s arm with force, threatening in a low voice, "Get rid of the baby in your womb!"
Jane looked up at him, her eyes turning red, and stubbornly said, "That child isn’t yours! What right do you have to tell me to abort it?"
"Let’s go!" Thomas roared, his face dark, pulling Jane up, "Let’s go for an amniocentesis to verify the DNA right now! If the child is mine, I’ll immediately arrange for an abortion!"
Sienna was shocked, completely unable to reconcile this brutish side with the usually gentlemanly Thomas. She shook Simon’s arm, "Should we..."
Before she could finish, she saw Sylvia run over to help Thomas drag Jane out.
Bianca followed them out.
The farce finally came to an end.
Old Master Forrester kept shaking his head, slapping the A4 papers on the table, leaning back in his chair, hands behind his head, staring at the dim light on the ceiling, lost in thought.
Sienna and Simon remained silent.
Grandma Forrester sat in her place, wiping her tears, "Such misfortune! It’s truly unfortunate!"
After a while, Sylvia came back in, and Sienna quickly asked, "How did it go?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Sylvia smiled triumphantly, "The whole family went back together! I told you that child must be Leo’s!"
Old Master Forrester said, "I’ve lived my whole life and never seen such ridiculousness before!"
Sylvia glanced at Grandma Forrester, "Am I right? Jules’s father didn’t even want to come when he heard about this! We’re just too easygoing! That’s why these witches dare to come and cause a scene!"
Her words implied that the two elders were too accommodating, allowing others to take advantage, and they heard it. Feeling somewhat embarrassed about their earlier lack of firm stance, they opted to remain silent.
After sitting for over an hour, Simon’s sciatic nerve began to bother him, prompting him to get up and move around in the dining room.
After walking for a while, he approached Sylvia from behind and said calmly, "Mom, thank you for coming back to handle this in time!"
Sylvia chuckled twice, turned to look at Sienna, holding her hand and gently patting the back of it, "I’m just here to intimidate! It’s still Hilary who’s impressive! All these ideas are hers! Being a Ph.D. truly makes a difference! To remain so calm in such a big matter!"
