Chapter 261: Chapter 258: Sweetness

Thinking about getting up early every day to make bird’s nest soup for Simon Forrester, while he acted all aggrieved, Sienna Thornton felt indignant and grumbled, "Boyfriends elsewhere all have porridge for breakfast, but you have bird’s nest soup. Not only do you not thank me, you make it seem as if I’m abusing you!"

Simon Forrester: "... Porridge is bland, eating it every day is fine. The main issue is that milk bird’s nest is sweet, eating it twice a day for a month straight is really overwhelming."

Unconvinced, Sienna Thornton pouted and asked, "I’m sweet too, and you consume me every day?" After saying this, she held her stomach, lying on the sofa, laughing until she doubled over.

Laughing and laughing, the light around her dimmed.

Simon Forrester, who was just sitting at the computer, had somehow come over and was looking down at her intently, blocking all the light above her head.

That look seemed as if he wanted to devour her.

She felt a sudden jolt in her heart. She sat up, trying to slink away from the side. Her foot barely touched the ground before he grabbed her pajama collar with one hand and tossed her back onto the sofa.

"Who says you’re sweet? Have you tried yourself?" he laughed, bending down to kiss her.

"If not sweet, then what?"

"Sometimes sweet, sometimes spicy, sometimes sour..."

"... Oh! Are you saying I’m dark cuisine?!"

***Over a thousand words of sweet daily life here***

-

A few days later, Ingrid suddenly called Sienna Thornton, saying the program "Law Firm" wanted to invite her back for another episode, to make up for the last episode being taken down. Also, they said this time the case aligned with her area of foreign-related practice and asked if she was interested in participating again.

Sienna Thornton was a bit hesitant.

Participating in the program took up a lot of her time. Recently, the law firm’s business was doing well; even though they were small cases, they added up, and the income for the month was still considerable.

Moreover, her photos and information had been spreading uncontrollably on the internet. Some agencies even private messaged her, asking if she was interested in acting in movies. They said a film company wanted to use her as a prototype and adapt her personal experiences into a movie about the love-hate relationships of legal professionals.

If she continued participating in the program, these invitations and messages would only increase, which meant she would be halfway into the entertainment industry. Even if she didn’t consider how it might affect her work, she had to consider Simon Forrester’s position.

Simon Forrester must be under a lot of pressure, supporting her in joining the program. Although he intended to prevent Old Master Forrester from watching the episode with her in it, he couldn’t guarantee Old Master Forrester wouldn’t find out from other sources about her online popularity.

The Forrester Family was really low-key. If her background continued to be scrutinized, Simon Forrester and the Forrester Family would be implicated.

Thinking about this, Sienna Thornton officially asked Ingrid to decline the show.

But even so, rumors about inviting her to film still spread all over the internet. Opening Weibo, you could see various entertainment accounts reposting, "A film company is trying to contact Sienna Thornton, who went on ’Law Firm’ to find her father, hoping to bring her inspirational journey to the big screen, aiming for a summer release this year"...

These reports were detailed and plausible, making Sienna Thornton quite annoyed. She was planning to discuss with Simon Forrester if they could somehow delete all these online messages about her when Dean Thorne called.

It was Saturday, almost noon, and Simon Forrester was driving her back to the old house for lunch when Dean Thorne called, causing her to be so surprised she couldn’t speak properly.

"Dean... Dean Thorne, hello!"

"Mm-hmm, okay. See you in the afternoon."

After she hung up, Simon Forrester, who was driving, glanced over, asking with a tone that was not quite natural, "What’s Quentin Thorne up to?"

Sienna Thornton was a bit stunned: "Dean Thorne said he has something to discuss with me and asked me to meet him at two in the afternoon at the ’Chinatown Teahouse’."

Before Simon Forrester could speak, she asked, "Where is ’Chinatown Teahouse’?"

"It’s by Serene Lake. I’ll go with you then." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Recalling that Quentin Thorne had said over the phone it was best for her to go alone, Sienna Thornton, looking displeased, said, "No need, you stay home and accompany Grandpa. I’ll go by myself! You said it’s by Serene Lake? Just a few steps away!"

Simon Forrester said nothing more.

If he didn’t know Quentin Thorne’s identity, he definitely wouldn’t let Sienna Thornton go to the appointment alone. But now that he knew, he wasn’t worried. Quentin Thorne, no matter how much of a rogue, wouldn’t bring harm to Sienna Thornton.

Arriving at the old house, Simon Forrester led Sienna Thornton into the inner courtyard.

Old Master Forrester was sitting in the hall watching TV. Seeing his grandson and future granddaughter-in-law coming, he was so happy he neglected the TV, grabbing Simon Forrester’s hand with a smile and saying, "You two haven’t visited this old man for a while, has the office been busy lately?"

This "office" naturally referred to Simon Forrester’s design firm and Sienna Thornton’s law firm.

Sienna Thornton placed a bouquet of flowers into a vase, smiled, and said, "Pretty good. We’ve taken on quite a few cases recently."

Old Master Forrester smiled and nodded, leading Simon Forrester to sit down before starting to brew tea.

The grandfather and grandson brewed tea and watched TV in the living room, while Sienna Thornton went to the kitchen to see if she could help with anything. She also took the opportunity to learn some cooking from the old house’s chef, planning to go home and make different dishes for Simon Forrester.

-

After lunch, they stayed with Old Master Forrester for a while soaking up the sun. The Old Master then mentioned he was going for a nap and said he’d meet Uncle Grant at three to walk the birds in the park.

Simon Forrester mocked Old Master Forrester and Uncle Grant, saying together they’re nearly two hundred years old and still take birds out, walking so slowly that every time they cross the street, cars have to stop, letting them cross hand in hand. This not only wastes people’s time but also increases traffic pressure.

Old Master Forrester had intended to go back inside to nap but came back out after hearing his grandson’s teasing and gave him a beating before going back inside for a nap.

Simon Forrester, with his ear twisted and butt kicked, kept shouting, "Wife, wife, save me!"

Sienna Thornton lounged on the sofa eating sunflower seeds, watching TV, barely glancing at him, and said with a cold laugh, "You deserve it, bullying the elderly!"

-

Sitting for a while, it was now 1:30 PM.

Sienna Thornton opened the GPS to check the route. From the old house to the teahouse Quentin Thorne mentioned, it would take about fifteen minutes if she took the left route. So she got up, went to the bathroom to freshen up, and at 1:40 PM, she prepared to head out.

Simon Forrester had initially intended to just see her to the door. But walking half the way, out of the alley, he decided to see her all the way to the teahouse.

Quentin Thorne’s black Audi A6 was parked in front of the teahouse. Simon Forrester chuckled, pointing with his chin, "Quentin Thorne is here. Go on in. Call me if there’s anything."

Sienna Thornton hugged him, smiled with squinted eyes, but it was clear she was nervous.

Unwilling to part, Simon Forrester stroked her cheek and comforted her, "Don’t be nervous; he’s just an old man. You’re not working under him, so why be afraid?"

He then patted her back, "Go on, let me know when you’re done. I’ll come to pick you up."

"Okay."

Sienna Thornton turned and entered the teahouse.

She went up to the second floor and, led by a server, entered a small private room.

As the rustic wooden sliding door was pushed open, Sienna Thornton saw Quentin Thorne sitting by the window, brewing tea.

Hearing the sound, Quentin Thorne looked up at her, wearing a warm, kind smile on his face, with sharp eyes hidden behind rimless glasses.

Like her, he smiled with eyes that curved.
