Chapter 215: Chapter 213: Paying New Year’s Visit to the Forrester Family

Simon Forrester pretended to be indifferent as he blocked her rosy lips coming towards him and said seriously, "We agreed to have a trial today."

"No, come on," Sienna Thornton grabbed his suit and leaned closer, "just kiss me once first."

Simon Forrester was skeptical, "Just one kiss?"

"Yes, one kiss and then I’ll let you have the trial." Saying that, her small hand grabbed Simon Forrester’s tie and without hesitation pulled him down, standing on tiptoe, she proactively kissed him.

With her taking the initiative like this, Simon Forrester could forget about any trial tonight; he was lucky if he didn’t end up at her mercy.

Early on the second day of the new year, Sienna Thornton and Simon Forrester set off to Brimfield to pay respects to Old Master Forrester for the New Year.

Ever since the last incident with Mrs. Forrester, the Forrester Family were aware of their relationship, but because Old Master Forrester always strongly supported Sienna Thornton, everyone tacitly accepted their relationship.

Although they set off early in the morning, they still arrived at the old Forrester mansion by two in the afternoon.

Seeing Sienna Thornton’s pale little face, Simon Forrester held her hand to comfort her, "Don’t be afraid, you’ve been here before. Besides, my grandpa likes you so much."

Saying that, Sienna Thornton still felt a bit nervous.

The last time she came, she pretended to deny in front of Ronan Grant that she was Simon Forrester’s girlfriend; this time, she was visiting with the identity she once denied.

Sienna Thornton furrowed her brows, pondering how things developed to this point. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Initially, she confidently told Simon Forrester that they shouldn’t involve the parents in their relationship, nor should they meet the family. But somehow, not only did both families know about their relationship now, it had advanced to the point where they were seeing the parents for New Year greetings.

She felt like she was being led by Simon Forrester from his rescue of her at Raines Village, to showing a fake marriage certificate making everyone believe they were married, then to them falling in love, living together, entering The Forresters, up to now...

Sienna Thornton felt she was tricked by Simon Forrester.

-

"I think the tenth day of February in the lunar calendar looks good," Old Master Forrester said, wearing reading glasses and flipping through a yellowed almanac, "otherwise, the second of April would also be good."

He had been picking auspicious dates for over an hour. Sienna Thornton was about to fall asleep.

Simon Forrester sat next to her, peeling nuts for Sienna Thornton, filled an entire plate, clapped his hands, and stood up to stretch.

Sienna Thornton shot him a sharp look—I’m at my limit! Tell your grandpa to stop!

Simon Forrester got the message, circled behind the old man’s back, took away the almanac, and smiled, "Grandpa, we don’t want to get married so soon; we want to enjoy more time together as a couple."

Old Master Forrester glared at him, "Marriage isn’t a couple’s life?" Then he changed his statement, "If you have kids and don’t want to raise them, leave them at the old house, and you two can continue your couple’s life."

Grandma Forrester retracted her sharp gaze from Sienna Thornton and turned her head to Old Master Forrester, "Why are you in such a rush, old man? Jules and Thornton just met, and already talk of marriage, young people now prefer to get to know each other thoroughly first..."

Before she could finish, Simon Forrester interrupted, "Grandma, we’ve known each other for a year and a half now, it’s not short, we can totally get married, it’s just we’re too busy now, busy you understand? We both have our own careers! No time for marriage now!"

Upon hearing this, Old Master Forrester wasn’t convinced and grumbled, "You handle your work, I’ll prepare the wedding! All you need to do is show up for the ceremony!"

The three then started arguing about whether Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton should marry.

Sienna Thornton sat on the side, feeling powerless.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Forrester, who hadn’t given a warm look since she arrived, turned her gaze of disdain and jealousy into sharp glances, stabbing at her one after another.

Sienna Thornton felt like she was sitting on pins and needles.

Time stretched on, and the three continued arguing for quite a while before a servant came to report, "Sir, the eldest young lady’s family has arrived."

Hearing this, Sienna Thornton’s heart skipped a beat.

Simon Forrester quickly moved to sit beside her, holding her hand.

It was the early spring evening, still chilly despite the approaching warmth; the sky had not yet fully darkened, the wind picked up, tossing the plants in the courtyard back and forth.

Sienna Thornton had taken off her coat, now only wearing a thin red sweater, the hall doors open, and despite the nearby heater, the chill penetrated her fingertips, reaching her heart.

Simon Forrester felt the coldness in her hand and enveloped it with his own, holding it up and blowing warm breath onto her hand.

Sitting opposite, Mrs. Forrester was so infuriated by the scene that she blushed with jealousy and anger, her eyes quickly turning red.

Zane Forrester held her, whispering words of comfort.

"Mom, Dad, Happy New Year!"

"Grandpa, Grandma, Happy New Year!"

The greetings for the new year accompanied by the click of high heels traveled from the inner courtyard into the hall, as Bianca Fordham walked in with her husband.

Seeing Sienna Thornton holding hands with Simon Forrester, she was shocked, "Mr. Thornton, what are you doing here?"

Thomas Reed followed her in, noticing the striking scene which sparked a fleeting, unreadable emotion in his eyes, he gritted his teeth and stepped into the inner hall.

Sienna Thornton stood up, smiling at Bianca Fordham’s family, "Happy New Year to the three of you, I came to wish Chairman Forrester and Mr. Forrester a Happy New Year."

Bianca Fordham’s eyes stayed glued to the hands tightly held by Sienna Thornton and Simon Forrester, and she inquired, "Are you dating Jules?"

"Yes."

"Since when?"

Sienna Thornton didn’t answer.

Simon Forrester nonchalantly replied, "Just recently, after she resigned from The Forresters, we started dating."

Utterly serious nonsense.

Sienna Thornton pressed her lips, her face awkward.

Bianca Fordham wanted to ask more, but Thomas Reed came over and tugged her, "Alright, alright, why are you prying into their business?"

Bianca Fordham reined herself in, cast another suspicious glance at Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton, and then went up to Old Master Forrester and Grandma Forrester to say her New Year’s greetings.

Everyone sat down in the inner hall to chat, waiting for dinner at seven.

During the conversation, Thomas Reed made a phone call outside and upon his return, he announced his girlfriend would join them for dinner.

Old Master Forrester frowned at him in disdain, "Have you received your divorce certificate?"

Before Thomas Reed could answer, Bianca Fordham hurried to clarify for her son, "Yes, yes, it’s been more than a year! He should find a wife! Leo, at his age, does need a woman to look after him!"

She finished, then tugged Thomas Reed’s arm, "Bring your girlfriend to meet Grandpa."

Simon Forrester chuckled, "What do you mean by needing a woman to look after him? Cousin is not a three-year-old child."

Bianca Fordham’s face flushed red.

Thomas Reed didn’t look pleased.

Afraid his daughter might argue with his beloved grandson, Old Master Forrester quickly intervened, but given his distrust of Thomas Reed’s judgment, he chastised him, "This time find a decent one, none of those ridiculous women! Look at Jules; if he will date, he’ll date someone like Thornton who’s competent and gracious! Learn from Jules!"

This remark darkened Thomas Reed’s already disgruntled face further, his teeth clenched as he stormed out of the inner hall.

The group continued chatting a while longer, then as the clock struck seven, the familiar prelude of the nightly news program echoed from the large TV in the inner hall.

Old Master Forrester stood up, clapped his hands with a smile, "Come, let’s head to the dining room for dinner! We can eat while watching the news!"

He then glanced toward the door, "Why is Leo’s girlfriend still not here?"
