Otherworldly Desert Dust-Chapter 212 - 168 Silver Winged Mantis
Wu Hen’s gaze swept across the treatment building.
He could hear there were around a hundred people inside, each with different injuries.
They were immobile, and some were even in a comatose state.
The Ghost Mosquitoes themselves were fond of the Spirit Awakeners’ Evolutionary Blood. When they found that healthy Spirit Awakeners were tough to handle, they turned their attention to the injured ones.
A cunning bunch of insects, Wu Hen suspected each possessed intelligence, able to prey in such a manner.

"Watch closely, the gathering of the Power of thunder and lightning doesn’t start only when you use it, but should resonate with the surrounding Thunder particles all the time; only then can you ensure there are enough thunder particles when you use it!" Wu Hen said to the steadfast youth beside him.
No sooner had he spoken than tiny sparks of electricity flickered in the surrounding air, seemingly always lingering around Wu Hen—normally invisible to the naked eye, they released agitated energy and, as if rehearsed countless times, obediently responded to Wu Hen’s command!
Suddenly, the electricity shone brighter, and from time to time, bursts of irregular electricity discharged sparks. Their trajectory was invisible, but upon release, they exploded like thunder, covering a one-kilometer radius and enveloping the rehabilitation building!
"Zzzzz!!!!!!"
A massive number of electrical arcs formed instantaneously, each carrying a destructive breath.
The Alien Ghost Mosquitoes moved at high speed, also trying to evade the Thunder Transition Factors, but the Tribulation Thunder Arcs were like a lizard’s tongue, over ten times faster than their flying speed, and could accurately predict their trajectories!
The golden arcs danced wildly through the building, turning hundreds of Ghost Mosquitoes into ashes in an instant. A dreadful crisis was thus averted in a blink, causing all the Spirit Awakeners inside the building to stare out the windows in disbelief…
The power of the golden arcs was astonishing; even touching their skin could annihilate them. Yet, these arcs did not touch them in the slightest, their precision terrifying. Even as fellow Spirit Awakeners, they couldn’t comprehend how Wu Hen managed it!
Large scale destructive power was certainly strong, but this ability to differentiate between friend and foe was undoubtedly the hardest.
"That is called precision. Have you learned it?" Wu Hen said with a slight smile to the young man beside him.
The young man was dumbstruck.
Then, his head started shaking like a bobblehead.
Learn it my ass!
If you want to show off, just show off. What’s with the process?
"When one of your Perception abilities reaches Third Rank, you’ll understand," Wu Hen said.
"Didn’t you forget me? Why do you still know my thunder and lightning went awry?" the youth recalled that incident and murmured.
"Hmph!" Wu Hen glared at the boy, the boy was incorrigible!
Suddenly,
Wu Hen heard the sound of a rapid airflow coming his way!
He turned around and saw that on the forested mountain beside the building, all the tall bamboo had been harvested as neatly as wheat.
The force of this reaping swept toward them with frightening speed, heading straight for the building.
"Gah!"
The building’s midsection appeared a perfectly even cut, and the next second, its upper half slowly slid toward the ground.
This blow wasn’t aimed at Wu Hen; his Listening Sense hadn’t alerted him.
Moreover, this force was so fast—even if it had flown towards him, it would have posed a threat, as Listening Sense isn’t omnipotent and such silent vacuum blades were hard to detect.
The thunder youth was utterly shocked, his eyes filled with fear.
The building collapsed heavily onto the street, and those injured Spirit Awakeners inside suffered various degrees of compression and entrapment, some escaped, others never made it out.
In such a situation, Wu Hen was powerless; he couldn’t support a building severed in half in such a short time.
His gaze coldly fixed on that creature in the mountains, feeling the provocative intent flashing in its eyes!
A silver mantis, perfect and otherworldly, stood atop the mountain; its forelimbs as sharp as surgical blades were raised—it was this very mantis that had just unleashed a vacuum blade towards the building.
Silver Winged Mantis!
When it had emerged from the white miasma and appeared here, no one knew, yet it was certainly targeting Wu Hen, as though these alien insects knew that Wu Hen was the leader among these humans. Only by killing him could they transform Lun Mountain City into their nest!
"You and the others go and rescue the injured," Wu Hen said to the young man with the power of thunder and lightning beside him.
The thunder-powered young man, whose legs moved with some stiffness, couldn’t take his eyes off the Silver Winged Mantis. It seemed that the moment he looked away, he would be decapitated.
Only with difficulty did he move out of the mantis’s sight. He then discovered his clothes were soaked through. He had never seen such a powerful, such a sinister creature before; he felt like a tiny moth in a terrifying battlefield, with his life and death not in his control.
"Lord Wu Hen... Lord Wu Hen..."
"We’ve destroyed the ovary of the Jade Lady Mantis but we’ve also discovered traces of another Alien Mantis, that one likely possesses optical invisibility abilities!"
At that moment, a voice in the distance was reminding him, that of the versatile Shen Wenhai.
"It’s here with me, have everyone else stay back; this fellow’s strength is formidable," Wu Hen responded.
Optical Invisibility.
That explained why it hadn’t been discovered earlier.

This creature must have already crept out, silently reaping the lives of other Spirit Awakeners.
Having finally fed itself, it was planning to fully show itself and battle him head-on.
The reason it didn’t invisibly move next to him and strike was because it knew of his powerful Listening Sense. A stealth attack would be meaningless.
If stealth was not an option, then provocation it was!
You can instantaneously annihilate hundreds of Ghost Mosquitoes, can’t you?
Similarly, with a swipe of its claw, it could also instantly kill those injured Spirit Awakeners that Wu Hen had just saved!
This was an open declaration of war towards Wu Hen, and it had successfully angered him.
"You and your matriarch mantis, you both must die!" Wu Hen said coldly.
The Silver Winged Mantis split its mouth, as if laughing.
This creature must possess great intelligence; its behavior was nothing short of showing off to other species how perfectly it had evolved!
"Hiss, hiss~"
A subtle sound was emitted.
Suddenly, Wu Hen sensed something and immediately wrapped himself thickly with Holy Breath, forming a golden Qi Shield Armor!
"Woosh!"
The next second, a Silver Winged Mantis emerged from behind, its silver blades aiming straight for Wu Hen’s head!
The Silver Winged Mantis on the mountain hadn’t moved, yet another appeared behind him.
Coordinated combat?
One to distract his attention, another to stealthily attack??
Another adult??
And they were attempting to decrypt his Third Rank Listening Sense to achieve a close-range assassination!
