Otherworldly Affairs Office-Chapter 65: The Might of Shangxing
Chapter 65: Chapter 65: The Might of Shangxing
"Enough arrogance, you’re just a waste who can’t even do internal source external release!"
"You think you, an incomplete evolutionary low-level creature, can defeat us in two minutes!"
Just as Shangxing and Pei Yan were speaking, the enemy had already divided their roles and rushed forward, hurling curses. The first to shout was He Yue, whose veins bulged as he continuously threw out four or five large nets, while the latter was Cao Hua, controlling over a dozen steel pipes, leading two ability users towards Shangxing.
Facing He Yue’s overwhelming nets, Pei Yan chose to temporarily retreat, swiftly moving backwards. Standing beside him, Shangxing charged straight at the attackers. His entire body was enveloped in a golden internal light, enduring the impact of over a dozen steel pipes, which rang out with a series of crisp clinks.
He then turned to press the head of an ability user whose hands had transformed into steel shears gripping his neck. The giant shears scraped against his neck, hard as steel, producing an ear-piercing metallic sound and sparks, leaving two shallow bloodstains.
Afterwards, Shangxing grabbed the person’s head and pressed it directly onto the ground. He spat out a mouthful of blood and fell into a brief coma.
"Soft and hard!" Cao Hua raised his arms and roared, a surge of internal light from his body. Over fifty sharp steel pipes suddenly appeared above him, and with a mighty swing, the pipes, like arrows off a bowstring, shot rapidly towards the slowly rising Shangxing.
Shangxing rubbed the wound on his neck, already healing, while watching the abilities unleashed by the awakened opponent. Not wanting to endure the strike, he attempted to dodge but discovered he couldn’t move at all.
Upon looking down, he saw that the pipes Cao Hua previously threw had somehow transformed into flexible tubes, wrapping around his feet, with the other end re-solidified into steel, deeply embedded into the ground.
Concurrent with this, another masked ability user, under Cao Hua’s command, rapidly pointed to ten circular mirrors appearing in mid-air. Soon, beams of light shot out from them, converging on Shangxing. Under the high-temperature grilling, his thick body fur burned quickly, releasing a pungent scorched smell.
"Indestructible!"
Thuds echoed as over fifty steel pipes pierced Shangxing’s body, motionless, resembling a giant porcupine.
The short, young man manipulating the mirrors approached Cao Hua, timidly asking, "Old Cao, did we succeed?"
"What are you thinking! That’s Shangxing, a fourth-stage awakened ability user. Keep burning him with your power! Don’t stop!" Cao Hua reprimanded sternly, sweating profusely.
At this moment, there was a clattering sound. Shangxing slowly moved, and the steel pipes on him scattered all over the ground. Cao Hua’s mouth agape, he was shocked to find the pipes he had thrown with enhanced ability at high speed had all been bent out of shape upon striking the opponent!
Seeing Shangxing suddenly accelerate towards him, Cao Hua, without thinking, pushed his teammate into Shangxing’s path and turned to flee from Jiezhi Space. Just as he initiated the thought, he was horrified to find Jiezhi Space had been locked from the outside.
Before he could react, behind him came Shangxing’s steady yet terrifying voice: "Soldier’s Awakening!"
Making a decisive turn, he threw over a dozen steel pipes. In a series of puffs, he watched the pipes pierce Shangxing’s upper body, spraying columns of blood. Cao Hua felt a surge of joy, but before he could celebrate, a massive, glowing fist landed heavily on his face.
Cao Hua, face bloodied, painfully fell to the ground, his chest firmly stomped by Shangxing’s big foot. He turned his head to look at another "Shangxing" restraining his teammates from afar, struggling to speak, "The legends about you are true!"
Shangxing calmly summoned two confinement rings. Under his control, the two rings became six. Then, looking down contemptuously, he said, "In front of this low-level creature, you didn’t even last two minutes."
"I surrender, I accept my fate! Arrest me!" Cao Hua said, extending his hands to show surrender. As Shangxing slowly put the confinement rings on his arms, a fierce look appeared in Cao Hua’s eyes as he lightly shook his fingers.
But before the scattered steel pipes around his body could respond, Shangxing’s foot on his chest suddenly exerted force. A crisp sound of bones cracking was heard as Cao Hua spat blood onto Shangxing’s leg, his fingertips limp.
Shangxing bent down and grabbed the unconscious Cao Hua, pulling him up. He twisted his two arms behind his back and put on the confinement rings. Once in place, the rings automatically attracted each other with a bang, locking his arms securely behind him.
Next, he controlled the remaining four confinement rings and approached the short young man restrained by his duplicate. Upon witnessing Cao Hua’s miserable state, the young man immediately burst into tears and shouted, "I haven’t committed any major crimes! Please don’t kill me, I beg you! I’ve only been with them for half a year, undergoing a short training period. I haven’t killed anyone, truly! I didn’t even take much money, I’ll give it all to you, please don’t kill me!"
Hearing the different voice, Shangxing’s duplicate bent down and took off the individual’s mask, "A woman? What’s your name!"
The young girl pleaded tearfully, "Qi Youting, my name is Qi Youting! Please don’t kill me!"
"Ah, young girl, what have you learned, joining gangs!" Shangxing shook his head, disappointed, then said, "I won’t kill those who surrender. Raise your hands!"
"Can you not cuff me like him, with hands behind my back?" The girl glanced at Cao Hua’s hands, mostly inhaling than exhaling, and raised her hands, whispering.
"Alright!"
After cuffing Qi Youting, Shangxing walked forward without turning back. At this moment, the girl’s voice called from behind, "What will happen to me?"
"I don’t know, we’ll have to see what crime you committed later, then determine the sentence based on that!" Shangxing said as he approached the ability user he knocked out earlier, while putting on the confinement rings, he looked up to observe Pei Yan’s battle far ahead.
"Pei Yan, need help?" Shangxing shouted high, appreciative yet worried, as Pei Yan fought valiantly amidst dangers.
"No need! I think I can manage!"
"Good!" Shangxing kicked the cuffed ability to the side, heading toward another battlefield.
Listening to Pei Yan and Shangxing’s conversation, a mix of humiliation and fear surged in He Yue’s heart. Humiliated because, even with two first-stage awakened working together, they still couldn’t defeat Pei Yan before awakening, which he found hard to endure with his usual arrogance.
The fear came from the sudden arrival of this monstrous being, overturning the battle instantly. According to the exchange between him and Hu Wenjun, they seemed to have allies outside! Could it be that today’s mission would end in failure?
No, I absolutely can’t fail here!
