Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights-Chapter 167: Power Of Illusions & Petrification
Henry looked at his watch and then back at the spot where Weston was supposed to reappear, a deep frown on his face.
โIt canโt be that he failed to kill a child! What could have gone wrong?!โ he thought, his eyebrows furrowing. ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ธ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ต.๐ฌ๐ค๐ข
After waiting for a few minutes, his expression hardened. He concluded that something had gone wrong, but he didnโt think it wasnโt just the plan that failed, a man who was supposed to be dead was now alive, roaming a dungeon world in search of a way back.
โWhatโs he doing?!โ
Henryโs eyes gleamed viciously as he saw Snow stroll to a corner and fall onto his butt, his summon perching on a nearby building.
Snow stared at his trembling hands. Images of his past actions, his past self, slammed into his mind, haunting him, clawing at him.
Why?
His pride stank. His laughter felt like that of a hyena. His words were revolting. He felt so hollow now that his goal had broken right before his eyes.
It had been almost a year and four months, and yet he didnโt think it was possible to defeat Godfrey. They werenโt classmates anymore, but fully fledged enemies now, standing on different sides of the battlefield.
Godfrey squinted when he heard Snow laughing, yet it felt filled with pain.
Snow snapped at Godfrey with red eyes. "Youโre still trash. The world wants your mother, so give her to them! Do it!"
โCโmon, get angry and kill me! I feel tired.โ He sighed inwardly as he rose to his feet, glaring hard.
His butterfly flapped its wings, unleashing a great amount of silver glimmer that detonated instantly. Yet Godfrey, clad in golden armour, walked right through the flames, his cloak not even scorched.
Soft metallic sounds rang as his ironclad boot gently touched the asphalt.
"Ahhh!" Snow screamed at the top of his lungs as his butterfly summoned a storm of glimmer, incinerating the entire block.
Lucy stood far away, the massive detonations reflecting in her irises.
In that moment, Snow saw a golden blur, lightning crackling around it, and Godfrey appeared beside him, his gauntleted fist aimed straight for his head.
โIs this it? Did I give up on my dreams?โ A tiny smile formed on his lips as his head was blown off by a fierce blow.
His body fell like a leaf detached from its branch. The gleam in his eyes faded away.
"Youโre dead!"
"Youโre supposed to be perfect! Perfect! I groomed you and you ended up as a waste!"
Everything faded.
Meanwhile, in reality, green glimmer swirled around Godfrey as he gazed at Snow, who didnโt even realize he was trapped in an illusion.
Godfrey stretched out his hand, and some of the green glimmer turned red, turning the Manhattan senior into stone.
"All that explosion, and yet not one scratch on your armour. That must be some impressive armour. I can tell that harvesting armour from your summons would make guilds splurge like madmen to obtain them."
Godfrey tilted his head toward Henry, who walked out of the ruins with numerous burn patches on his clothes.
Henry examined the young man clad in golden armour, a golden mask with black sclera and golden irises, emanating the aura of a 16.2 Saint Tier existence.
All this while, his summons discreetly monitored Godfreyโs summons. He had hunted and killed enough Vagabonds to know the drawbacks of Overload. It rendered the summoner unable to unleash their summons for at least a day.
He knew all four of them had used Overload and had returned to their summonerโs soul space due to the strain, all except Dirge.
"So... you killed your own classmate. God knows what youโre turning into. Youโre even colder than frost." Henry laughed as he approached.
Snow had retrieved his summon when he saw Godfrey about to deliver the final blow, so only his stone sculpture remained. Henry tapped it lightly.
"Hard stone."
As he looked at Snowโs statue, Henryโs eyes gleamed. He had two Throne Tier summons, one peak-level and one top-level, and the other two were King Tier and peak Lord Tier, pushing his personal strength into the Saint Tier.
One universal truth about summoners with multiple summons is that the summoners themselves end up as stronger existences.
"I was really unlucky with my Symbiosis. Hit 40% on my first summon, 30% for the other two, and 20% for the last. Can you imagine that?! Some people hit 50% twice, and Iโm pretty sure you hit 50% at least once." Henry said with strange, relaxed poise despite the destruction around him.
"Iโm a hunter. Not even the authorities know how strong I am, they only know about my nose."
"Do I look like I care about everything youโre telling me?" Godfreyโs cold reply rang through his mask.
"Iโm a bit talkative, donโt mind me. But..." Henry closed his eyes as if recalling something, when suddenly he moved.
The earth shattered as a 16.4 Saint Tier existence lunged, clawing down at Godfrey.
Godfrey leaned to one side as deep gashes tore open the ground.
Henry swung his hand toward Godfreyโs neck with enough force to rip a massive portion out of a skyscraper.
The moment Godfrey caught his wrist, the air exploded, and Henryโs eyes narrowed.
"Youโre forgetting something." Godfrey said calmly.
Henry frowned, then realized it the next moment.
His hand was petrified. His legs up to his waist had already turned to stone.
Their tiers werenโt far enough apart to render the glimmer surrounding Godfrey irrelevant.
"You were already dead." Godfreyโs voice struck him like a hammer.
From Godfreyโs perspective, he hadnโt even engaged Henry in a fight. The moment Henry acted as though he was recalling something, he had already been trapped in an illusion.
And petrified in that very position.
All his strength became meaningless before Godfreyโs current abilities.
Using telekinesis, Godfrey clenched his hand tight, and Henry shattered into dust and rubble.
โThe tracker is dead. Iโm free for now... but I thought there were two of them?โ
Godfrey turned toward the ruins of the building where Weston and Henry had once observed them.
โI donโt think that explosion killed him... so he just vanished?โ
