Oops, I had a ONS With My Secret Ex-husband-Chapter 475: Date
Ji Yu sometimes didn’t understand why she felt this way, but seeing them always made her feel extremely annoyed.
"Dad, you’re not seriously arranging a fiancé for me, right? If it’s happening this quickly, I might have a hard time accepting it."
"What’s so hard to accept? They’re handsome and beautiful—what’s not to like?" Hu Jianyu didn’t think this was too fast at all. After everything his daughter had endured, it seemed entirely appropriate to arrange a fiancé for her.
"Just look at what you’ve been through lately; it’s turned you into a mess. Honestly, I think this isn’t fast enough. If it could happen even quicker, that would be better. Why not go ahead and get engaged tomorrow?"
He had already orchestrated things to this point.
Ji Yu looked at him helplessly, understanding his intentions. But truthfully, this matter wasn’t anyone’s fault.
"Dad, don’t overthink it. I haven’t really suffered any grievances. I just feel like it’s happening a bit too quickly. If you push this kind of arrangement, I might have a hard time accepting it. Maybe you should let us at least interact a bit first."
"Interaction is definitely necessary. But your Uncle Wu is very satisfied with you. If you interact, this matter will probably become a done deal." Hu Jianyu spoke about the situation with a trace of resignation.
"Let’s talk about it later. Perhaps we aren’t meant to be. Even if we meet, there’s unlikely to be any sparks."
Hu Jianyu thought for a moment about the young man’s recent behavior and suddenly felt like this arrangement had its merits. But his daughter could be obliviously foolish in certain matters.
"Why are you so clueless, you silly girl? Didn’t you notice the guy was already interested in you?"
Ji Yu didn’t think much of it. Most likely, he was just captivated by her looks, which she had seen happen far too many times recently.
"If he fell for me at first sight, then there must be something wrong with him." Ji Yu spoke of the matter with mild disdain, feeling some aversion towards him.
Hu Jianyu didn’t know what to say. His daughter was undeniably beautiful, so if people were drawn to her for that reason, it was perhaps inevitable.
"Let’s not worry about anything else for now. If you’re willing to interact, then go boldly and interact with him."
Could his daughter really be threatened by something like this? Of course not.
"Since you’ve already said that, we can meet again tomorrow. Though he might not necessarily be available."
What Ji Yu hadn’t anticipated was how proactive the other party would be. Upon hearing that she was willing to interact, he wasted no time in scheduling a meeting the next day.
When he saw her, his face lit up with a delighted smile. He greeted her with a straightforward self-introduction.
"Miss Ji, yesterday’s introduction was quite rushed. Today, I’d like to formally introduce myself: I’m Wu Zeyu, and you can call me whatever you like."
When he caught sight of her, it was as if he was completely entranced. But then again, this wasn’t really a first sight—they’d met before.
"Ji Yu." Ji Yu simply introduced herself by name. However, upon seeing him, he did seem somewhat familiar, as if they had met somewhere before.
"Have we met before? I don’t mean this as a pick-up line; you just look a bit familiar." Ji Yu spoke directly, afraid of being misunderstood.
"We have met before, but it seems like you’ve forgotten. That experience, though exceedingly brief, left a deep impression on me." He spoke with a hint of helplessness.
"That time was probably the darkest period of my life. I thought my face would remain the way it was forever. Then, by chance, I learned about you, so I sought you out for surgery. You helped me restore my face to normal."
That was the very reason why he’d had feelings for her from the start.
"You probably had so many patients that it’s normal for you not to remember me. For me, though, this face has always been incredibly important. Every time I saw the scars, I felt helpless."
Luckily, it was eventually resolved.
Ji Yu hadn’t expected him to be one of her former patients. But with this revelation, things started making sense—his initial interest in her now seemed more understandable.
"Even though we have that sort of connection, I hope you won’t mix those feelings into how we interact. I imagine this is your first time truly getting to know me anyway."
She hoped things could progress slowly and deliberately. After all, her current stance was just to appease her father for the time being.
"I fully understand what you mean. Even if you’re not interested in me, that’s fine. I just want to do what I feel is right."
He had never dared hope for anything grand; he just wanted some interaction with her.
In a way, this felt like a dream coming true.
"Can I call you Yu?" he asked cautiously.
For her, this was their first meeting. For him, however, their interactions had played out in his mind countless times.
"You can call me whatever you like. I suppose we can be considered friends now, right?" Ji Yu didn’t think a name mattered much. Besides, they had already met before, paired with so many coincidences—calling each other friends seemed apt.
"Yu." The way he said this made his heart tremble because he didn’t understand why this girl had affected him so deeply.
"Sometimes I think I’m terribly pathetic. Why did I become so interested in you after that one thing? You probably think I’m a creep."
After all, he had maintained a mysterious demeanor all this time, but then suddenly developed feelings for her. Anyone would find that suspicious.
"I’ll wait for the day you fall for me." Wu Zeyu spoke with slight embarrassment, though he was bold in matters of the heart.
"We’ll see about that. Honestly, I don’t have any special requirements when it comes to relationships—just don’t constantly show up in front of me, and that’ll do."
He hadn’t expected such an unusual request, freezing slightly in surprise.
