One Piece: New Order-Chapter 119: Sakazuki vs Garp
Chapter 119: Sakazuki vs Garp
Outside of Baterilla.
Garp raced through the sky using Geppo, heading straight for the island that was becoming larger in his view, the unease in his heart growing heavier.
Below him, ships of every kind were converging on Baterilla Island from all directions.
Suddenly, Sakazuki’s presence flared ahead as he rushed toward Garp in his Crimson Lotus Mode, right fist covered in Armament Haki.
"Great Eruption."
Boom!
Their fists clashed in midair like thunder crashing across a flat plain, and a massive shockwave burst from the impact, shaking the sky and sea.
Still locked in a clash high above, Garp’s face darkened. "Sakazuki, what are you trying to do?"
Sakazuki stared at him indifferently. "It’s what I should be asking you, Vice Admiral Garp."
Gritting his teeth, Garp growled, "That’s just a baby."
Sakazuki continued without emotion, "Try telling that to the victims’ families. Do you see all those ships gathering below? Everyone on board is a relative of someone killed in the Kergashi Island massacre.
"I simply told them the truth, and they came from the Grand Line, risking everything. Who knows how many died along the way, swallowed by storms? But still, they came.
"You can go down there right now. If you can convince even one person to let go of their hatred, I’ll step aside immediately."
Boom!
A powerful, volcanic force erupted from Sakazuki’s fist as it slammed Garp down into the sea like a cannonball, sending a towering pillar of water into the air.
In the next instant, the vice admiral shot back up, unwilling to face the truth.
"But the baby is innocent."
Sakazuki’s voice remained cold. "I never said the baby was guilty. I only gave them a map and some information. Whether they chose revenge or not, that decision belonged to the people of Kergashi Island.
"But who are you to say something like that? You don’t have the right to forgive on their behalf. ’Innocent,’ you say? Were the breadwinners of over five thousand families not innocent too?"
Garp closed his eyes. "Roger already turned himself in."
Sakazuki’s tone didn’t waver. "How convenient. Since Dragon, your son, betrayed the Marines, I’ll go kill him myself now and throw his head at your feet. Could you accept that?
"He’s a traitor. Killing him would be the proper thing to do. Wouldn’t you agree?"
Garp’s eyes snapped open. "I don’t want to argue with you. Get out of the way."
Sakazuki’s expression turned icy. "I told you, if you can get even one person down there to forgive, I’ll move. Otherwise, forget it."
Garp’s mind was in complete chaos. Clenching his fists, he lunged at Sakazuki.
Crack!
Their fists collided once more, shaking the very air.
Both men had immense Haki and monstrous physique. With veins bulging they were locked in a fierce struggle.
Then, a shadow passed through Garp’s eyes as he compressed a huge amount of Armament Haki into a single point—just like when he crushed Chinjao’s drill head.
Sakazuki narrowed his eyes. ’Damn it...’
Boom!
His upper body burst apart, forcing Garp’s punch to pass through.
The vice admiral surged forward, half his body past Sakazuki, racing toward the island.
Sakazuki’s body reformed in an instant as his right fist swirled with Haki again and smashed into Garp’s stomach.
A trail of afterimages followed and several glowing fist marks were left on the older man’s body. Each one sizzled with magma, then detonated. The blast sent him hurtling backward.
After skidding hundreds of meters, he ripped off his scorched jacket and flung it upward.
Boom!
It exploded in midair like a fiery bomb.
Garp stomped hard. A white sonic boom erupted underfoot and in a flash, he was in front of Sakazuki, as if he had teleported.
He swung a fist at his opponent’s head, who raised his right arm to block.
Boom!
At the same time, he caught Garp’s other fist aimed at his stomach with his left hand.
With a twist, he caught both of the man’s arms.
"Lava Booster."
Thick smoke and scorching heat erupted from his body as he rocketed into the sky, dragging Garp with him.
Coating his head in Haki, Garp slammed forward like a battering ram.
Sakazuki also reinforced his own head with Haki and rammed back.
Clang!
A sharp metallic crack rang out as the two men were hit with intense dizziness, they lost control of their bodies and plummeted from the sky.
Sakazuki shook his head and took a few deep breaths. Looking down at the sea, rage continued to boil within him.
"You really want to die, huh?! Magma Burst!"
Body radiating with heat and light, he exploded. In an instant, a massive mushroom cloud of magma, nearly a kilometer wide, formed above the ocean.
A devastating shockwave surged out, slamming into Garp.
The man grunted and threw both arms outward, blasting open a clear space within the burning cloud. Then he stomped down and burst through the top, breaking out of the magma storm in a battered state.
Not giving him the chance to catch his breath, Sakazuki appeared before him and drove a fist straight into his gut.
As a blinding red light flared and blazing energy tore through Garp’s body, a pillar of fire erupted from his back, shooting into the distance.
Garp clenched his jaws, grabbed Sakazuki’s wrist, and crashed his own fist into the man’s chest.
Crack!
The sound of breaking bones rang out and Sakazuki let out a muffled groan as blood dripped from the corner of his mouth.
Enduring the pain, his left hand immediately turned into compressed magma.
"Hellhound!"
He smashed it into Garp’s chest.
Crack!
Then the lava rapidly expanded and exploded.
Another towering mushroom cloud bloomed, stretching across a kilometer of sky.
BOOM!!
* * *
Marine Headquarters, Marineford.
The gray sky poured with rain, as if foretelling a disaster about to unfold.
Fleet Admiral Kong was absent, away at a meeting in the Holy Land. Sakazuki and Garp were nowhere to be found either.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
A sudden series of explosions rocked the base as alarms blared across Marineford.
"Intruder alert!"
"Enemy presence detected at the Marineford coastal port!"
"Hurry, hurry!"
"What’s the enemy count?!"
"J-Just... just one! Golden Lion Shiki! Only one man!"
* * *
The Marineford port was littered with bodies. Every Marine stationed there had been slaughtered.
Atop the mountain of corpses stood Shiki himself, gripping his sword with one hand.
"How the hell could someone like you trash have ever captured Roger... that man was one I acknowledged!"
At some point, Sengoku had appeared at the port’s edge.
"Roger is the Pirate King," he said calmly. "He already beat you and escaped during your last battle."
Shiki’s eyes widened with madness.
"Pirate King? So what?! If he’d just agreed to fight by my side, we would’ve ruled the world already! Although we didn’t always get along... but we lived through the same era! If he’s still alive, bring him to me! And if he has to die, it’ll be by my hand alone!"
A wave of killing intent burst out and his Conqueror’s Haki followed like a tidal wave.
Sengoku let out a cold snort.
"The execution is in one week. In his homeland, the Town of Beginnings—Loguetown, East Blue. Roger’s death will crush the spirit of every pirate."
Shiki laughed hysterically, voice twisted and manic.
"You’re telling me... the legend of the Pirate King ends in the weakest sea? What a damn joke! That’s the ultimate insult to that bastard!!!"
He shot into the air, slashing wildly.
Waves of golden sword energy hundreds of meters long came crashing down toward Marineford.
Sengoku threw off his cloak. His body erupted in golden light, transforming into a towering golden Buddha, a hundred meters tall.
He raised one shining hand to meet the incoming slashs. free𝑤ebnovel.com
