Chapter 332: The Strongest Security Guard Shocks the Crowd

"Worororororo—!!!"

Kaido’s roar echoed even as the world around him began to shimmer and blur. The victory was sweet, but the System was indifferent to his triumph.

[System: Now exiting the dungeon world...]

[System: Countdown: 10, 9, 8...]

As the numbers ticked down, Kaido’s massive Mega Gyarados body began to emit a blinding, pearlescent white light. His terrifying form became translucent, the light particles slowly drifting away into the wind.

The stadium’s cheers faltered and then died out, replaced by a confused, fearful murmur.

"Look! It’s... it’s disappearing!"

"Is it an evolution? No, it’s fading!"

Lilly stood at the edge of the crater, her black dress tattered and stained with dust. Her hollow, indifferent eyes—the ones she had used to shield herself from a cruel world—began to tremble with a sudden, sharp panic.

No...

The memories of the past few months surged forward. The dragon who had been her nightmare, then her teacher, then her shield. The beast who had forced her to run until her lungs burned, yet had always stood between her and the world’s malice.

He was a tyrant. He was a monster. He treated her like a servant. But for the first time in her life, she hadn’t been afraid.

"Wait..." her voice was a fragile whisper.

The cold, "Gothic Queen" facade cracked and crumbled. Tears she hadn’t shed in years began to trace paths through the dust on her cheeks. She forgot the cameras, forgot the title, and forgot the crowd. She sprinted toward the fading light.

"DON’T LEAVE ME! DON’T GO!"

Her scream ripped through the air, raw and desperate.

Kaido, his consciousness already half-tethered to the bar in Foosha Village, paused. He looked down at the tiny, weeping human running toward his dissolving form.

Bonds... he thought with a mental sneer. They truly are the most pathetic of shackles.

Yet, looking at her, he didn’t see a trainer. He saw a reflection of a stubborn, headstrong girl who would eventually grow to hate him, yet never stopped following in his shadow.

Yamato...

"Worororororo..."

Kaido let out a low, uncharacteristically soft chuckle. With a final effort of will, he forced a single, massive scale to detach from his chest. It was pitch-black, etched with glowing yellow veins. It didn’t dissolve. Instead, it caught a stray breeze and drifted toward the girl like a falling leaf.

[System: Countdown finished. Commencing teleportation.]

Buzz—!

The light reached a crescendo, blinding everyone in the stadium. When it cleared, the black dragon was gone. Only a sky full of shimmering dust remained.

Lilly collapsed into the rubble, her hands clutching the warm, heavy dragon scale to her chest. She wept openly, her cries of loss the only sound in the silent stadium.

The transition was instantaneous.

One moment, Kaido was bathed in the sunlight of the Indigo Plateau; the next, he was standing in the dim, salt-aired warmth of Partys Bar. The holographic projection flickered and died, leaving the room in a heavy, expectant silence.

Gulp.

The sound of Doflamingo swallowing was audible in the quiet room. He looked at Kaido, his hand hovering over his wine glass. "Well... that was certainly a show. Tell me, Kaido, does that world have any more ’fish’ like you?"

Shiki, the Golden Lion, sat with a darkened expression. His jealousy was a tangible thing, radiating off him like heat. The bastard actually did it. He went in as a joke and came out a god.

Buzz—!

Kaido stood in the center of the bar, his original form restored. He was a mountain of a man, his horns casting long shadows against the walls. But the atmosphere around him had shifted. The chaotic, overflowing violence that usually defined him had been compressed, refined into something far more stable and infinitely more terrifying. He was no longer just a storm; he was the eye of the hurricane.

He turned his gaze toward Doflamingo. It was a brief look, but the Heavenly Yaksha felt as though a cold blade had been pressed against his throat. The memory of being hung from a tree like a piece of meat flashed through his mind, and for the first time, he felt a genuine, cold fear of the man standing before him.

"Worororororo—!!!"

A booming, obnoxious laugh broke the tension. Garp was doubled over, wiping tears from his eyes as he slapped the table.

"Look at you! The Greatest Pokémon Trainer in the world! Gahaha! Kaido, I never thought I’d see the day you’d be a hero to ten-year-olds! If you ever get tired of being a pirate, come talk to me. We could always use a dog-catcher with your... particular talents!"

Kaido’s brow furrowed, his eyes igniting with a familiar rage. "Garp... I’ll kill you."

"Gahaha! Try it later! Look, the System is talking!"

The cold voice rang out, drowning out Garp’s laughter.

[System: Ding!]

[System: "Job Entry Dungeon: Strongest Trainer" has been cleared by "Security Guard No. 007," Kaido of the Beasts!]

[System: Final Evaluation: S+!]

The room went still. S+—the same rank Garp had achieved. Every Marine, every Pirate, and the Five Elders themselves leaned in, their hearts racing.

[System: Calculating rewards...]

[System: Detection: The host challenged the peaks of a world with a mortal body, tempering a "Demon Dragon Body" through sheer combat.]

[System: Reward: SSS-Class Reward — Demon Dragon Body (Passive)!]

The moment the words were spoken, a pillar of dark, primordial energy erupted from the floor, engulfing Kaido.

"ROAR—!!!"

Kaido let out a cry that was half-agony, half-ecstasy. His bronze skin began to ripple. One by one, scales as black as the abyss and hot as magma began to emerge from his flesh, permanently fusing with his body. They weren’t just a transformation; they were a part of him now.

The pressure in the bar rose until the glass windows began to crack.

"He... he’s bringing the power out?" Sengoku whispered, his face pale. "This isn’t just a fruit ability anymore. He’s evolving."

Kaido stood in the center of the bar, his new scales shimmering under the dim lights. He felt the world differently—clearer, sharper. He was no longer just the Strongest Creature. He was something else entirely.
