Chapter 324: Violent Taming! The Birth of the Beasts Pokémon Legion

Within the rowdy, smoke-filled interior of the Partys Bar, the silence was heavy enough to feel. King the Conflagration stood rigid, his massive wings trembling with a suppressed, violent energy. Queen the Plague’s bloated body quivered like a pressurized balloon, his eyes wide with a manic sort of glee. Even Jack the Drought, usually as immovable as a mountain, wore an expression of feverish fanaticism that sent chills through the lesser pirates in the room.

"It’s him..." King whispered, his voice a low rasp of reverence. "That pressure... that absolute, suffocating tyranny. That is Lord Kaido’s soul!"

"He’s back!" Queen barked, a tear actually escaping his eye. "The invincible King of the Beasts has returned, and even in another world, he refuses to be a common slave!"

Back within the digital confines of the dungeon world, the air in Pewter City felt charged with ozone and the scent of charred earth. Lilly stood frozen, her tiny mind completely short-circuited as she stared up at the impossible nightmare hovering before her.

Her Magikarp—the fish she had cradled in her arms just moments ago—had been replaced by a titan. The Gyarados (Variant: Pitch-Black Demon Dragon) blotted out the setting sun, its obsidian scales absorbing the light and radiating a cold, predatory malice. This wasn’t the heroic evolution she had read about in books; this was a descent of a demon.

The massive dragon lowered its head, its crimson eyes locking onto her with the precision of a guillotine. Lilly whimpered, her legs turning to jelly. There was no warmth in that gaze, no bond of "friendship" or "trust" as described by Professor Oak. There was only the freezing, absolute authority of a predator looking at a minor inconvenience.

I won’t be a toy for this world, Kaido roared within his own mind. He flexed his new, winding body, feeling the surge of raw, destructive power. While this ten-meter frame was a vast improvement over the pathetic fish, it still felt like a laughable earthworm compared to his true Azure Dragon form.

Not enough! he snarled. I will not wait for this sniveling brat to lead me to ’Gyms’ like a leashed dog! If I want power, I will seize it. If I want a kingdom, I will forge it in blood!

The pitch-black dragon suddenly whipped its tail, appearing before Lilly in a blur of motion. The sudden rush of wind nearly knocked the girl flat. Kaido suppressed the instinct to make a fish-like sound and instead gave her a rough, demanding nudge with his snout. He then turned his gaze toward the dark, primeval canopy of the nearby forest.

The command was chillingly clear: Keep up, or be left behind.

Lilly didn’t dare hesitate. She scrambled to her feet, her short legs pumping as she stumbled into the shadows of the woods, following the wake of the monster she now realized she "owned" but could never control.

"Fuffuffuffu... now that’s what I like to see!" Donquixote Doflamingo cackled back at the bar, his sunglasses flashing. "Passivity is for the weak. A true king takes what he wants and dictates the terms of the game! That is the true essence of a pirate!"

Garp, however, was wearing a grin of pure schadenfreude. "It’s over for that world! You toss a shark like Kaido into a peaceful forest, and it’s not a journey anymore—it’s a slaughterhouse! Bwahahahaha!"

Sengoku’s face was dark with worry. "This is going to turn into a diplomatic nightmare if the Dungeon Shop doesn’t have a way to reset the damage he’s about to do..."

—————

Inside the forest, Kaido had become a whirlwind of unbridled ferocity. He had no interest in "training"—he was here to conquer. His first victims were a troop of Primeape. Known for their savage tempers, the Fighting-types had lunged from the trees, their fists glowing with [Karate Chop] and [Close Combat].

Kaido didn’t even blink as their blows rained down on his black armor. Is this the best this world has to offer? he mused with disgust. With a flick of his massive tail—a [Dragon Tail] infused with the weight of a sinking ship—he sent the entire troop screaming through the trees, snapping trunks like toothpicks.

He didn’t kill them. He needed subordinates.

He turned his cold, red eyes toward the trembling Lilly, who was hiding behind a mossy rock. He used his tail to scoop a muddy Pokéball from the ground and flicked it at her feet.

Seal them! his gaze commanded. They are my property now.

Lilly picked up the ball with shaking hands and, with a silent prayer, began to capture the broken, unconscious creatures. She wasn’t a trainer anymore; she was a collector for a tyrant.

The pattern continued with terrifying efficiency. A herd of Tauros attempted to stampede him, only for Kaido to meet them head-on with a [Tackle (Modified Iron Mountain Lean)] that flipped the entire herd like toys. Beedrills were swatted out of the air like flies; Arboks were crushed under his weight.

By the time the sun began to dip below the horizon, Lilly’s backpack was groaning under the weight of over a hundred occupied Pokéballs.

Under the bruised purple light of dusk, Kaido coiled his massive form atop a rocky hill, overlooking his new "harvest." At his command, Lilly released every single one of them. The clearing was suddenly filled with bruised, bandaged, and broken Pokémon—Primeape, Tauros, Nidoking, and more. They looked up at the black dragon with eyes full of absolute, soul-crushing terror.

Kaido reared back, his red dorsal fins glowing like hot embers. He let out a roar that echoed for miles, silencing every other creature in the forest.

"ROAARR—!!!!"

From this day forward, you are the Beasts Pokémon Legion! And I am your Pirate Admiral!

The speech was cut short when he noticed his "army" was barely conscious, half of them foaming at the mouth from their previous beating. An army required fuel. Kaido slowly turned his terrifying, fanged head back toward the small, silent figure in the corner.

He stared at Lilly’s backpack—the one filled with Professor Oak’s Potions and Sweet Madame.

Fix them. Feed them. As Lilly pulled out a bottle of Potion, her eyes welling with tears, she realized her dream of becoming a Pokémon Master had died. She was now the head of logistics for a monster who intended to set the world on fire.
