One Piece: Capitalist Brook's Crew Expansion Plan-Chapter 132: - : Rocks’ Sudden Ambush
Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Rocks’ Sudden Ambush
The Sea Siren Pirates’ captain, Dawei, bounty: 1.6 billion Belly had just defeated the veteran powerhouse Ice Demon Pirates and solidified his place as one of the New World’s fiercest pirates. But now, that same man was drenched in cold sweat, frozen in fear.
Even his Hybrid Form of the Mythical Zoan: Octopus Siren had involuntarily reverted to human. He stood trembling, eyes locked in disbelief on a terrifying figure aboard what should’ve been a run-of-the-mill pirate ship.
"RUN!!"
Dawei spun around and bolted, leaping onto one of the few barely intact ships and yelling at his crew like a madman to set sail.
"Damn it!! That old bastard Vesper—how did he lose track of Rocks?! And where the hell is my backup?!"
He didn’t care about Vesper’s reputation. Right now, Dawei couldn’t care less about respect or pride. He couldn’t beat Rocks. His crew had been wiped out by more than half. There wasn’t even a chance to retreat with dignity—just pure survival instinct.
"Give it up, Dawei. That fossil Vesper hasn’t realized I slipped away. You’re not getting any backup today. Be smart—surrender now. Jihahaha~!"
The Ice Demon Pirates were already finished. All he had to do was crush or absorb the Sea Siren Pirates, and Rocks’ plan to dominate the New World would leap forward in a big way.
This ambush wasn’t spur-of-the-moment. Rocks had laid this trap meticulously—his first time pulling a full scheme. Would Vesper realize that the Rocks on Beehive Island was just a decoy?
By the time he did, it would already be too late. Rocks would’ve captured Dawei—and Vesper would be furious.
...
Sure enough, the Den Den Mushi call reached Vesper, leaving the old pirate stunned. His scouts had reported that Rocks showed up on Beehive Island nearly every day. So how the hell was he now attacking Caly Island?!
Vesper immediately began preparing a rescue mission. Even with the Wind-Wind Fruit speeding things up, it’d still take at least half a day to reach Dawei.
"Hold on, Dawei! Retreat while fighting—I’m on my way!"
The moment Vesper hung up, he rallied his top officers and set sail. He couldn’t afford to let Dawei fall into Rocks’ hands. If that happened, their so-called Overlord Alliance would fracture for good.
Dawei was the strongest of the three "False Overlords." If he joined Rocks’ crew, then Rocks would truly have the potential to unify the New World.
"Vesper, you unreliable old man! You better hurry, or if I can’t hold out—I’m flipping sides and coming back to shoot you first!"
Dawei roared into the Den Den Mushi, half a threat and half a plea. He’d been a captain for years and had no intention of becoming someone else’s lackey. He was this close to ascending into a true Overlord crew!
But if it was a matter of life or death, he’d take being Rocks’ strongest Number Two over dying like. Still... he wasn’t ready to give up just yet.
He’d waited years for the old Ice Demon to retire. Wilank, that dumbass, had taken over—and Dawei had crushed the new Ice Demon Pirates, knocking them off the pedestal of the top three Overlords.
This was supposed to be his moment.
He refused to bow to Rocks. Not as long as there was the tiniest sliver of hope.
...
"Jihahaha~ Dawei, when I crushed the old Overlord Pirates, I spent months planning. Hid for nearly a year to recover before making my comeback!"
Rocks laughed as he chased.
"So this time, you don’t get a second chance. There are only two roads left—surrender or death! Vesper isn’t saving you. Take my word for it—this is your end!"
Dawei’s ship was taking heavy cannon fire. He barked orders and cursed the heavens.
"How the hell did you slip past Vesper’s surveillance?!"
"Hmph. Just a little trickery. Since you’re still clinging to false hope, allow me to shatter it!"
Rocks drew a subordinate’s sword with casual disdain. Coated in Conqueror’s Haki, he unleashed a slash that carved a massive, kilometer-long canyon into the sea, the waves splitting in its wake.
Though Rocks wasn’t a swordsman by nature, at his level, being a secondary Swordmaster was practically standard.
Dawei finally snapped and struck back with everything he had. Eight colossal sword waves merged into one, clashing with Rocks’ attack in a thunderous explosion that drove the ocean downward before blasting a spray hundreds of meters into the air.
The ship he was on managed to stay afloat—barely.
...
"Still resisting, Dawei? Jihahaha~"
Rocks launched slash after slash like casual jabs, each one powerful enough to shatter steel. His "normal" attacks were matching Dawei’s full-power techniques.
The seven or eight officers on Dawei’s ship watched in horror, realizing how wide the gap really was. Their captain... wasn’t close to Overlord level after all.
"No!!"
Half-transformed again, Dawei swung his blade in a desperate flurry, trying to parry the devastating attacks. But the gulf in strength was too wide. No matter how he fought, it felt like swinging a twig at a hurricane.
...
"Jihahaha! Before the Navy gave you that fake ’Overlord’ title, you were careful—always hiding, avoiding the spotlight. You made my job harder back then!"
Rocks sneered.
"But once you got that label, your ego inflated. You really believed it, didn’t you? You thought you were on our level. It was all just a Navy ploy!"
BOOM
One of the sword slashes finally struck Dawei’s ship directly, sending splinters and flames into the sky. The vessel jolted to a near halt. Rocks’ ship rapidly closed the distance.
Up close, Dawei could feel it—that overwhelming pressure. Rocks had grown even stronger than before. Stronger than Vesper.
It wasn’t even fair.
Dawei clenched his fists in regret. Attacking the Ice Demon Pirates had been a mistake. He’d let himself be baited by Wilank’s incompetence.
And now his trump card—the sea beast Kraken—was already dead. If it were still alive, he could’ve escaped inside it and slipped away. ƒгeewёbnovel.com
He’d also put too much faith in Vesper. Thought he had Rocks on lock.
If he’d just waited a few more years, trained harder, then made his move... everything might’ve been perfect.
Wilank, you fat idiot, you screwed me!
Dawei looked at Rocks, eyes flickering with indecision and burning frustration.
"Rocks... send one of your men to fight me. If they beat me, I’ll join your crew."
It was a bluff—just a stalling tactic. Dawei wasn’t going down until he had no other choice.
"You serious?" Rocks snorted. "If any of my guys could beat you, your little alliance would’ve crumbled ages ago."
He smirked, but his tone carried weight. Even he had to admit—those three "False Overlords" were stronger than his and Vesper’s top officers.
