One-Eyed Monster-Chapter 767 - 764: Loosening
This time, the Great Mentor was completely taken aback. He had never imagined Kadi would actually suggest a method he hadn't considered. This method seemed ordinary, with nothing special about it; quite mundane. Yet, it was precisely this mundane approach that, paradoxically, left Kadi himself momentarily speechless.
One should proceed step by step; why choose a radical path all at once? That's a rather unwise strategy.
Kadi always believed that nothing in the world was utterly hopeless. There were always solutions; one didn't need to choose a path of no return.
If such a situation did arise, Kadi would rather do nothing at all.
Everyone makes their own choices. The effects these choices bring can only be known once they have been acted upon.
Kadi's idea differed from the Great Mentor's. He wasn't seeking immediate on-the-spot results like the Great Mentor; he wanted matters to proceed slowly, gradually cornering their target.
"Here is Guru Mountain, our territory, why should we be in a hurry?" Kadi continued to elaborate his thoughts.
The Great Mentor found this refreshing. Kadi's idea slightly moved him, and he realized that he had been a little narrow-minded at times. Seeing Kadi's enthusiasm, the Great Mentor felt somewhat relieved.
It seemed this world ultimately belonged to the young...
Although Kadi usually appeared carefree, he possessed such meticulous thinking—a rare gift, and certainly beyond what the Great Mentor had considered.
The Great Mentor didn't want his problems to burden others, feeling he should shoulder everything himself. Since he was responsible for these issues, he believed he had to resolve them alone. This was precisely why his considerations hadn't aligned with Kadi's perspective.
Kadi's plan required everyone's cooperation. It was not something that one person could accomplish alone.
This idea was clearly more moderate than the Great Mentor's. Kadi aimed to confine Kuyi Tulan and prevent him from leaving Guru Mountain. This was a much milder approach than the Great Mentor's 'burn the bridges' strategy.
Moreover, Kadi's plan was not as forceful as the Great Mentor's and could even be considered quite covert.
He didn't want a direct confrontation with Kuyi Tulan; instead, he aimed to avoid his main force. He intended to let Kuyi Tulan leave the mountain. This would allow Kuyi Tulan to lower his guard and give Kadi time to prepare his entire plan.
This plan actually seemed plausible.
The Great Mentor hadn't expected Kadi to have such a thought. He had initially assumed his own plan was the only option, but Kadi had managed to come up with another.
"Do you agree with my proposition?" Kadi asked, his previous arrogance considerably diminished now that the Great Mentor hadn't engaged with his points as he had ideally envisioned.
This was a perceptible difference in interaction. Proactively questioning versus being questioned created entirely different feelings. Kadi's assertiveness dwindled because of this disparity.
However, Kadi didn't realize his assertiveness was diminishing. He anxiously awaited the Great Mentor's acknowledgment. Honestly, at this point, nothing was more important to Kadi than the Great Mentor's endorsement.
A once-proud heart had been worn down, its sharp edges smoothed away. This was probably Kadi's current state of mind, yet he was unaware of how deeply his plan had touched the Great Mentor.
The Great Mentor had been resolute in his decision to walk the path to the Eternal Tranquility Realm with Kuyi Tulan. However, Kadi's proposal now seemed to offer some leeway. It wasn't that he was reluctant about this path leading him to the Eternal Tranquility Realm. Rather, it was because he still harbored a glimmer of hope for Kuyi Tulan.
This hope stemmed from Kuyi Tulan's unique talent; no one else could boast of such a gift. The Great Mentor thought this way because he himself was an enthusiast of Alchemy Techniques. He was obsessed with their study, devoting most of his energy to it. One could say he had dedicated his life to researching Alchemy Techniques. However, he had encountered a bottleneck in his research on techniques, a plateau that halted his progress and prevented significant breakthroughs.
The Great Mentor wished to find a successor to carry on his research into Alchemy Techniques.
Whenever he saw a child with good talent, he thought of taking them under his wing. In his lifetime, he had met many people with promising talents, but only four met his requirements. Among these four, three became his disciples, and one refused him.
Thinking about this, the Great Mentor sighed again.
Among these individuals, Kuyi Tulan possessed the greatest talent. Unfortunately, he had strayed onto a path of wickedness...
Initially, the Great Mentor felt Kuyi Tulan should be destroyed. But now, seeing the feasibility of Kadi's plan, he considered giving it a try.
This way, Kuyi Tulan would be confined within Guru Mountain, and they would have something new to protect.
Moreover, this seemed like a new opportunity for Kuyi Tulan…
To the Great Mentor, Kadi's plan seemed quite reliable!
This mix of excitement and conflict bred hesitation. Hesitation is often the greatest obstacle when deciding to act, a stumbling block that could render all prior efforts futile!
The Great Mentor was now somewhat hesitant. He highly regarded Kuyi Tulan. The young man's talent was indeed extraordinary, but his mindset was unlike anyone else's. Most people's perception of matters might not be as complex as Kuyi Tulan's, nor as deceptively simple. Kuyi Tulan appeared straightforward on the surface but was extraordinarily complicated within.
The hesitant Great Mentor was not aware that his Spirit Defense had begun to loosen slightly.
Perhaps his indecisiveness caused him to overlook it, but the Great Mentor's Spirit Defense was no longer as impenetrable as before!
It was a difficult thing to explain. Perhaps the fluctuations in Spirit Power were strongly correlated with a person's emotions.
This laxity set the Moonflow Stream stirring again…
The monsters looked towards the Alchemy Workshop opposite them, somewhat worried about the Great Mentor. The Alchemy Workshop, however, had other ideas. Currently, the Alchemy Workshop followed Kuyi Tulan's orders implicitly. Kuyi Tulan had forbidden an attack on the Great Mentor, but they remained keenly focused on Kadi...
At this moment, another person was also anxious. Stan Sol had originally thought Kadi would ruin his plan, but now he saw a renewed hope for its success...
