One-Eyed Monster-Chapter 748 - 745
Stan Sol released the Battle Pet Fiery Blaze as requested by Igor.
The argument between the Alchemy Workshop and the Mountain Monsters of Guru Mountain was relentless. They were arguing intensely, with neither party backing down, so much so that the appearance of Stan Sol's battle pet did not draw their attention.
The Battle Pet Fiery Blaze, like a tricky wandering dragon, wriggled its way towards the spot in the sky where rocks were soaring.
The instant the flame touched the rocks, it was as if a key had unlocked a remarkable door. The lightning imprisoned within was suddenly free, rushing around the vast sky like mischievous children.
Lightning invariably brings thunder. A dazzling yellow lightning bolt streaked across the sky, and a tremendous rumble echoed through the clouds!
This sudden roar came without warning and took everyone by surprise.
The abrupt thunderclap silenced the arguing factions of Moonflow Stream. They were all stunned by the deafening sound.
The moment the flame ignited the rock, lightning burst out, creating a magnificent display. Unfortunately, the arguing parties at Moonflow Stream did not fully appreciate this spectacle. They only caught sight of this anomaly out of the corner of their eyes. By the time they reacted, the lingering effect of the thunderclap was still reverberating in their ears.
The individuals who were stunned by the thunderclap began to look skyward, trying to determine what had caused the enormous peal of thunder.
Igor clapped his hands together. He had accomplished his goal: drawing everyone's attention towards them.
He wanted to ask about Dastan on behalf of Stan Sol, but the people here seemed more concerned with other matters. Igor couldn't understand why they were arguing. Was it all for Kuyi Tulan, who had done something wrong? It seems a bit absurd, he thought.
"COUGH! COUGH!" Igor found the situation somewhat awkward, his reaction a bit unnatural. To avoid any further awkwardness stemming from his unnatural reaction, he let out a couple of coughs.
The brief silence after the thunderclap was broken by Igor's coughs. The previously arguing parties at Moonflow Stream turned to look at Igor, each person with a furrowed brow. He orchestrated such a dramatic display; what's he up to now? they wondered.
Igor met the crowd's diverse expressions and paused for a moment. But he quickly regained his composure. I have to ask the question for Stan Sol, he reminded himself. I can't let this spectacle intimidate me.
"COUGH! COUGH! How about that? The thunderclap was quite grand, wasn't it? HAHAHA." Although in his heart he wanted to get straight to the point, his actions couldn't keep up, and he still beat around the bush.
"You made such a racket just to say that?" Milo from the Alchemy Workshop obviously didn't believe it. Normally a man of few words, he couldn't help but ramble on at this moment due to the unexpected events happening around him; in normal times, he wouldn't have dreamed of being so talkative.
Igor looked at Milo, who was flushed with emotion from the argument. This is strange, he thought. As a disciple of the Great Mentor, why isn't he siding with him? Even now, I don't understand. And now, he's the first one to step forward and question me. It seems that Kuyi Tulan indeed possesses extraordinary qualities to have this peculiar fellow following him…
I'm getting sidetracked, Igor realized. I was supposed to inquire about the matter Stan Sol is concerned about, not wander off thinking about Kuyi Tulan.
"HMM?" When Igor fell silent, the crowd made a collective sound to remind him.
"ER, I almost forgot what I was supposed to do." Igor shook himself out of his reverie. Sometimes he could be quite absent-minded.
"What are you trying to do?" Kadi asked with concern. He too had joined the argument earlier; after all, he was one of the Guru Mountain Monsters and felt he needed to maintain a united front.
"Well, this matter doesn't concern me much directly, but I find it incredible. So, I want to ask on behalf of someone else."
Igor suddenly became a bit loquacious, as if what he wanted to ask was not something that could be expressed in a sentence or two.
"Be brief..." Kadi stepped forward. He didn't want to hear a long story. For him, arguing with the people from the Alchemy Workshop was essential. Moreover, they currently had the upper hand and it would be unacceptable for Igor to interrupt them at this critical juncture.
"ER, alright. Since you insist, I'll get straight to the point." Igor shrugged. He had initially wanted to ask the question calmly, but Kadi's urging made him abandon that idea; it was better to just throw the question out quickly.
"Hurry up! Hurry up!" Kadi, a little impatient, pressed him a few more times. His coaxing was indeed effective.
"I'm asking for Stan Sol about his family. You all know Elder Dastan, right? He's Stan Sol's kin. Sol wants to ask those of you from the Alchemy Workshop: where have you taken Elder Dastan?"
Upon hearing this, the resentment surged once again among the Mountain Monsters of Guru Mountain. They had forgotten all about this matter while arguing earlier. This was a new grudge against the Alchemy Workshop, and they were determined to get a clear answer.
Igor's question sparked a furor among the Mountain Monsters of Guru Mountain. The momentum they had gained in the earlier war of words was instantly revived.
"Dastan is also one of us!"
"What the hell did you bastards do to Dastan?"
"Yeah, what have you done to Dastan? Where is he now?"
...
Everyone started speaking at once. Suddenly, all the Mountain Monsters of Guru Mountain became Igor's spokespeople, so much so that he no longer needed to ask the question himself.
Who would have thought that the thunder and lightning released by Igor would cause Moonflow Stream to erupt like this in a split second.
This scene was as shocking as an earth-shattering thunderclap.
The Mountain Monsters of Guru Mountain all cared deeply for Dastan. This sentiment was heartfelt, a fact that both Igor and Stan Sol could clearly see.
Stan Sol felt somewhat moved. He hadn't expected Dastan to be so popular and so highly valued on Guru Mountain.
The Great Mentor also felt a bit touched. Seeing the monsters caring for each other so genuinely, regardless of their differences, he couldn't help but feel gratified. Over these years, the inhabitants of Guru Mountain had truly grown to have their hearts connected as one.
"Do you see, my child? This is real strength. This is true unity."
"Mentor, I understand these simple truths. However, certain things can't be advanced simply by relying on these principles. I stand by what I've said: everything I do is for the sake of this kingdom. I hope everyone can understand."
The Great Mentor and Kuyi Tulan had a brief exchange during this interlude. Igor's mighty thunderclap was indeed loud enough to plunge the entire scene into an uproar, yet this uproar was strangely focused, as all the noise centered on a single question.
It was a question that everyone clearly wanted an answer to: What exactly was Dastan's condition?
