One-Eyed Monster-Chapter 677 - 674: Temporarily Equal in Strength
Igor's Cloud Beast seemed as if it were a fish in water here, delightfully devouring everything.
The sight left some people dumbstruck, and it also made the initially tense atmosphere a little lighter.
Igor himself began to reminisce involuntarily about his experiences at the Yonder Travel Academy, suddenly feeling that they were now in an advantageous position.
He couldn't help it. The chance to remember and take a trip down memory lane indicated that the situation couldn't be that bad.
Everyone felt as if their victory was guaranteed. The assistance rendered by Igor's Cloud Beast was extremely substantial, allowing them a chance to rest from their persistent resistance.
Igor was engrossed in his recollections of Yonder Travel Academy, unable to let go. He really wished he could finish up the current affairs early, return to the Academy, and share his experiences with Teacher Hadi.
His previous state of detachment from everyone else had led to his current demeanor. Even if he appeared bizarre in the eyes of others, he managed to remain true to himself.
Maintaining one's true self is difficult; not everyone could manage to preserve their original dreams as he had.
As children from Yonder Travel Academy grew older, many chose their careers carefully, considering their future prospects and personal growth.
The offspring of wealthy families had more options, having a worry-free lifestyle ahead. On the other hand, people like Igor, who were in less fortunate circumstances, often chose careers that could immediately transform their and their family's living conditions.
It's rare to find an anomaly like Igor. His father, a woodcutter, initially hoped Igor would grow rapidly into a self-reliant individual. However, he turned out to be neither here nor there – not proficient, not strong. Despite the disappointment, the woodcutter, after all, loved his own flesh and blood. While Igor might seem naughty and playful in daily life, he was the supporting pillar of the family when it mattered...
Those were stories of the past. If Igor's father could see his son's deeds now, he would undoubtedly feel proud.
As for the ones who used to ridicule Igor, they must now be utterly astonished.
Who could have imagined that Igor would take on such responsibility, employing his individual strength to completely suppress the mysterious Dark Force? Furthermore, it seemed like they had gained an advantage now.
The Cloud Beast continued to devour the Puppet Soldiers endlessly, causing chaos in their lines and completely diminishing their advantage.
These changes had indeed made the Dark Force suffer. However, the Dark Force hadn't yet been defeated. These were just a part of him, and a mere change of strategy could provide new opportunities.
But for now, he needed to pause and reflect. In all these long years, I haven't encountered such a talent—one who can move beyond the laws and freely shuttle through an Illusionary Realm.
The Dark Force estimated. This guy has probably created another Illusionary Realm within the existing one. No, it seems like there are actually several Illusionary Realms.
I originally believed my Soap Bubbles were already advanced enough; however, compared to this guy, it feels like a lesser magician meeting a greater one!
He was even more interested in this guy now.
He was determined to seize both the soul and body of this individual entirely, with nobody to stop him.
He had seized numerous souls before, gaining countless stories and skills from various people.
This moment of sighing is just to help me recover from the shock. After all, I'm not some petulant child who loses heart at the first sign of a setback.
Although I've never encountered this monster before, after observing it for a moment, I've discovered a way to deal with it.
In my vast experience, there's never been a lack of monsters; any one of them could frighten the world. I just don't like them. I always find them grotesque, stupid, and heavy—not at all aesthetically pleasing.
But now, I have to release those hideous monsters...
First were the Corpse Eaters.
These long-armed and long-legged creatures, heads tilted, scurried rapidly across the ground, HUFFING AND PUFFING.
The Death Knights were unfortunate, instantly becoming prey to these Corpse Eaters.
The Corpse Eaters were very ferocious. Although their numbers weren't as large as the Puppet Soldiers, they were far more agile and powerful.
The Cloud Beast was immense, resisting the Puppet Soldiers with its thick skin and flesh. The long spears of the Puppets couldn't harm it, and so they were easily devoured by it.
But the Corpse Eaters were different. Their arms were their weapons, and their movements were so swift that others could barely see them.
Soon, these Corpse Eaters climbed onto the Cloud Beast, repeatedly hitting its thick and fleshy body with their lengthy arms.
Unfortunately, the Cloud Beast did not feel pain. These hits didn't cause any significant damage to it.
However, the Corpse Eaters' advantage lay in their extraordinary agility.
Their agility was frighteningly high. The Cloud Beast could not catch them at all; as soon as it reached out, they would dart elsewhere, often causing it to hit itself instead.
The appearance of the Corpse Eaters gave the Puppet Soldiers, who had been in chaos, a chance to catch their breath. Of course, this respite was truly for the Dark Force behind them. For the Puppet Soldiers, they merely followed orders; the concept of "catching a breath" didn't apply to them. It was just that, at that moment, the commands they received were so jumbled they didn't know how to execute them.
Now that their commands had returned to normal, they revived their spirits and slowly reformed their formation.
The scene returned to its original stalemate.
Those who had been ready to sit back and enjoy the drama started to take action, understanding that their rest time was over.
Although the Puppet Soldiers had lost more than half their numbers, their advantage persisted. The loss in numbers didn't make them recoil; they continued to maintain their formation, consistently exerting pressure on their opponents.
On Igor's side, they continued to resist as before, with the Alchemy Workshop foreman Kuyi Tulan commanding and legendary figures assisting. This combination was indeed formidable, posing substantial threats to the Dark Force.
As Igor had previously predicted, the Dark Force did fear them.
Because the Dark Force had estimated how powerful this group could be when banded together.
This power was enough to destroy him.
However, forming a group was not an easy task. At this moment, the Dark Force also gained a clearer understanding of the true nature of these individuals.
Due to the rifts between them, it was nearly impossible for them to unleash that fearsome power. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Thus, after releasing the Corpse Eaters, the Dark Force did not rush to isolate these individuals.
Because he believed that a balanced situation would be more advantageous to him.
