One-Eyed Monster-Chapter 621 - 618: Set a Trap (Part 1)
After the Alchemy Array was formed, their task was to lure the creature hovering in the air into that cage.
However, this task sounded simple, but when they actually tried to perform it, they found it wasn't as easy as it sounded.
Hustace was hiding behind Igor the whole time. He was a complete idiot when it came to battle and didn't possess any special skills. Not fainting from the scene in front of him was already a significant improvement for him.
He knew that at this moment they needed to unite, so he wanted to contribute his own strength. But what could he, a privileged young master, possibly do? He couldn't provide any strategies, as there were others here more adept than him. Since he couldn't assist or offer good advice, he decided it was best not to add to the chaos...
Hustace's thinking was sound; he knew whose side to be on. Everything here had become important to everyone—not because they all knew the secret of the mountain, but because they would feel deep regret if they allowed something so revolting to take over.
So, their shared hatred for the enemy stemmed not only from the danger but also because they were genuinely disgusted by the grotesque, patched-together creature.
Hustace was curious about the principles behind this disgusting thing's formation, but at that moment, Igor was struggling against those revolting creatures and didn't have the leisure to discuss it with him. So, Hustace had to settle for talking to the Little Black Hands.
These Little Black Hands were Spirits. Everyone was now aware that there were Spirits within their group, but many wondered why they were still at a disadvantage despite having such strong external assistance...
There were four of these playful Spirits, completely lost and unable to find their way back. One was a Flame Type and was currently fighting the Water Folk alongside Stan Sol. As for the other three... one, its nature still unknown, had remained silent throughout; one that controlled sound was currently unable to use its abilities; and the last one was still recovering its memories, repeatedly claiming to be Thunder...
Communication with these Spirits was relatively smooth for Hustace. After all, he had read many books on the subject in his study and had done considerable research on Spirits and Spirit Power.
However, to be chatting in such a tense environment, these three Spirits and Hustace were indeed oddballs.
Igor was half astounded and half excited by what was happening before him.
His Scale of Faith had always repelled the dark system, so he naturally had to give his all to crush the Dark Force before him, no matter how difficult the trial.
Having come this far, Igor also realized his own shortcomings. He felt a lack of knowledge and the meagerness of his power. He knew that his strength was insufficient to deal with that floating bastard, and he couldn't devise any effective strategies to suppress the chaos that bastard created.
Igor realized that if he truly aspired to become an Adventurer, there were many, many things he would have to do in the future.
He couldn't just give up on himself now. The journey was still long. Take Hustace, for example; previously paralyzed by fear, he has now completely overcome that weakness and is even able to converse with these Spirits in such chaotic circumstances.
Of course, Igor admired Kuyi Tulan the most. That guy was always able to react first. Whether it was the previous skeleton soldiers' attack or the current strategy for laying the formation, Kuyi Tulan displayed leadership qualities; even the Great Mentor was coordinating with him.
This world ultimately belonged to the young...
At this moment, Igor and Senior Kevin were working together to stop the patchwork monster's attack, striving to complete the sealing array.
His Scale of Faith had tilted, and his power and speed had increased somewhat at this moment. But he was still a novice, after all, lacking experience. He couldn't effectively dodge the patchwork monster's attacks—a consequence of insufficient combat experience. Now, Igor was battered and bruised, his eyes filled with rage.
It had to be said that Kadi's performance was much better than his. Perhaps it was because Kadi often played hide-and-seek with Kevin and the others on Guru Mountain, eventually cultivating an ability to take a beating.
Wizard Reed's summoning spell was a bit slow. He was trying to summon Earth Dragons, beings that were long extinct. To bring such a creature back into this world would require dabbling in forbidden magic. Fortunately, Wizard Reed now had the time and energy to attempt such a thing.
Wizard Reed was actually quite pleased, having managed to strike such a heavy blow against these people with just a Water Type Spell and the breath of dead bones. He believed that the world was ultimately going to be devoured by darkness, and he was the wise one, ahead of these fools.
Strength represented everything. Kuyi Tulan was very strong, and the Great Mentor was also strong. Those strange creatures of Guru Mountain and the Golden Seats of the Alchemy Workshop—every single one of them was exceptionally powerful. And the Soul Guardians, their strength was not to be underestimated either...
But these powerful entities were at a loss in the face of the Dark Force, completely defenseless and taking a beating. Could this world still be theirs in the end?
Impossible. It was always survival of the fittest; it has been so since ancient times. This world ultimately belonged to the strong.
People lost in deep thought tend to react slowly. Wizard Reed had not yet discovered Kuyi Tulan's true intentions.
He could see them deploying a formation, but he believed that whatever array they set up, it wouldn't shake him. When the Earth Dragon appeared, it would be the end of these people.
But he still had to keep Great Mentor Guzan alive, because he still had to contend for the Fossil Key.
Although he wouldn't be able to elevate his Energy anymore, he would still feel content if he could do something for his master before his demise...
He would never forget the process of finding his true self after being lost for so long. If it weren't for his master, he wouldn't be who he is today.
Lost deeper in his thoughts, Wizard Reed felt as if he were about to leave this world. But seeing the situation before him, he snapped out of his reverie. Wait a minute, what's going on here?!
Something's seriously wrong here.
I've seen brave warriors die in battle, but I've never seen warriors this shameless!
What's with all this fleeing?!
Are you worthy of the title of Kayne Empire's warriors? Are you still the Golden Seats of the Alchemy Workshop?!
Wizard Reed was very puzzled. Those people were resisting fiercely just a moment ago, so why are they starting to run away now...?
I absolutely cannot let them escape.
With a wave of his hand, Wizard Reed had his monstrous patchwork creatures and the Water Folk speed up. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Thinking of escaping? Not on my watch! Wizard Reed, furious, had his forces accelerate.
